mikeandjess- if everything goes as planned, I am set for transfer on june 24. Here is my protocol with no bumps in the road (and after 2 cycles, I sort of expect the bumps, it seems there are always delays, but I will keep my fingers crossed)

5/7- started bcp's
5/21- started 10 units lupron
5/26- last bcp
6/4- bw & u/s
6/4- decrease lupron to 5 units, start estradiol 3 times per day
6/18- bw & u/s
6/21- last dose of lupron
6/21- start crinone twice a day (they are letting me due crinone b/c I put up a big fuss about PIO shots)
6/24- transfer

ianmichael- you are awesome...thanks for your support! I see you are out of the first trimester...how exciting! How are you feeling? I will be watching you over on the pregnant side, and hopefully joining you soon.

CT_Michele. You really seem to have a lot to deal with at the moment! We are settled back now although still not unpacked. The good thing is the insurance has covered complete renovation of the downstairs of our house as all wood had to be removed although we have really missed our home.

Rosario - Good luck, I hope you get lots of good embryos.

statsgoddess - we had to wait about a month for our follow up appointment but I assumed it was just the NHS. Hope you get some answers from yours.

We have got dates for our cycle now and start down reg on 10th of June. I am now on BCP so on we go for the next cycle. I am feeling quite positive as homelife is more settled now but I am worried I am getting my hopes up too much again!

I am worried this cycle wont work as we will be self funding after this one.

Hope everyone is well and things are on track

angie- I felt the same way about my last cycle, I knew that it was my last chance on insurance and that I would be self-pay after that. I was so worried about what we would do if it didn't work. I know it is almost impossible to not think about it, but just try to keep your mind clear and focus on now. When I got my bfn, of course I was worried about money, but we figured it out...we might be paying for a long time, but we know it will all be worth it and are thankful we get to try again.

And yes, I am dealing with a lot of crap...and I feel like alot of this stress could have contributed to my bfn, so I am determined to remove myself from all of this negativity and make way for the PMA for FET!

Today is the day! I have been off bcp since Tuesday, and tonight I start my sims. I am starting off with 225 units of Follistim and 75 units of Menopur. It is crazy, never thought I would be so excited about giving myself shots in the belly.
Wishing everyone a happy Memorial Day weekend,
Nicole

After being all nervous that I wouldn't get AF in time to make my June 11th FET date, it came at the last hour! So, I'm still on schedule. I have bw and u/s Tuesday to make sure I'm shut down and that my lining is thin. If that all looks good, I'll start Estrace that day. I anticipate that I'll be off and running later Tuesday morning!

This past week has been a week from hell because my husband and son have been sick as hell with diarrhea from the Rotavirus. Knock on wood, so far I haven't gotten it. I pray I don't. I don't need any illnesses screwing up this cycle! Unfortunately our Memorial Day weekend plans were ruined, but that's OK, I guess. I'm getting stuff done around the house. It's DH and my anniversary this weekend--8 years. We were supposed to be pawning off DS on G & G but with nasty diarrhea that doesn't sound too enticing to them!

Have a great long weekend everyone,
~Sarah

Rosario - Good Luck! Hope you get lots of good embryos!!!

angeinhull - My husband and I are self funding. The only thing our insurance does pay for are the meds - I just owe a copay for them. So we've paid for 2 full cycles - I don't know where it came from but you do what you have to do. Hopefully it will all be worth it in the end and we'll get out BFP!

nicksgam - How exciting! The shots aren't so bad - so don't worry too much!

Hello to All! Good luck and prayers! Have a great Memorial Day!

Hi all,

First, I want to send extra special good vibes to rosario, who as I type is likely recovering form ER. Congrats and let us all know soon!!!!

Sorry I've been missing lately. Been starting data analysis for my dissertation. (eee gad!).

We had phone consult with doc and all still looks good for starting first IVF cycle as soon as I get AF and begin bcp's. My husband and I have decided to have genetic testing done, which is good and not so good. The bad news is that it is even more of an expense and delays the IVF cycle by a month (they test the day 5 embryo and then immediately freeze them for a month as it takes about that long to get results of the test back). So all this time I thought I would be doing a fresh ET and turns out I'll use those frosties afterall.

The good news is that this is very cutting edge and high-end technology (my clinic is the only one in the country using this procedure). They can look at all 23 pairs of chromosomes and screen for anything wrong and then only use those embryos for ET that pass the test, which, according to our doc, may increase the chances for success. Also, given my age (42) and the increased chance for chromosomal abnormalities, I think it is good to find out this information up front. So, I think we will do this, but it means that now instead of ET around the first of July, it will be around the first of August (but at least I'll get a month off from all the meds). There is so much waiting in this whole process, it's making me NUTS!!!!! What do you all do to stay patient? I feel like a kid at Christmas!

Hope everyone is having a good holiday weekend. So many of you are already on bcps, stims, etc........I'm still bringing up the rear and now even more so if we do this testing! ARGH! Oh well, hopefully it will all be worth it!

Best to everyone!

Hello all.... I am proud to say I had ER today and they retrieved a total of 20 eggs!!!!!!!!! I never thought they would get so many out of me. I guess the flare protocol was the best for me. ET is scheduled for Wednesday but if all looks good they will push it to Friday. Thank you for everyones warm wishes.
