Morgan - Congratulations! What a wonderful surprise that must have been :o) I think I am still trying to let it soak in that I have twins inside of me, it seems so surreal. I'm happy for you, what awesome news!

bad food intake

Post by Sarah13 »

So, today was a bad food day. I started out innocently enough with Special K with the strawberries, and I went down hill from there. I've noticed in the last couple of days I'll get really light headed every so often. So, I was in WalMart and started feeling this way. Well, I figured my blood sugar was low since I hadn't eaten in about 4 hours (that's my rationalization anyway). I bought a packet of Skittles, the new kind in the orange packet, and a thing of Starburst. I then found myself in my car not able to drive anywhere until I had demolished the Skittles and eaten half of the Starburst. Needless to say, I didn't feel light headed anymore, but now felt like I had a rock in my gut. I really need to plan out snacks for myself so this isn't a daily occurence! Has anyone else had shameful eating moments yet?

Hi Ladies. Sorry I have been a stranger. My hubby's grandmother passed away so we had to travel two days to get to Oklahoma. (Now I'm on dial-up...ick). We will be back Monday so I will be back in full force then.

MORGAN - OMG!!! That is amazing! I am so completely happy for you! Fraternals are common but identicals?? How Neat!! Congratulations!!

Sarah - Luckily for me (being a full fledge chocoholic) I have not craved any sweets which is soooo weird for me. Even when I'm at a birthday party and everyone is having cake I've been passing which is TOTALLY not like me. Your body knows what you need and you will crave the food that your body needs. Your body probably needed more sugar so that is why you ate so much. The best part is that you are aware of what happened and can try to work some sweet stuff into your diet on a daily basis so you don't have a day like today because your body is in such need. Don't feel bad. We all have weak days. One of those every once in a while certainly won't hurt our bambinos.

Have a great week ladies. It's so nice to be on a board with such wonderful news coming in.

Hi Girls,

Can I join you ? I am also due mid Jan 2010...

I am finishing my 6th week today and due for the first scan on the 2nd of June 09. I had a bit of a scare yesterday as I bled a little bit. The hospital asked me to take an extra pessary (cyclogest - porogesterone - 400mg) and the bleeding reduced and then stopped. Today morning also I had slight bleeding and it then stopped.

Have any of you encountered this ? I am a bit scared as I have been trying for such a long time and need this to work this time.. I hear that it is normal for some ladies...

Love to hear from you..

Love,
Sita

Hi Ladies--

I was hoping that I could join you. My EDD is Jan 28, but I have a feeling I have multiples in there. My betas were pretty high so we will see at my u/s on June 5th. I have a 4 month old son from my thrid IVF and since Dhs insurance was going to run out, we had to jump right back in and do it again. At first, I was very nervous about twins or more, but I'm fine with t now and will be happy with what I get. My son, Jack, is a wonderful baby and I can't wait for those of you who have no kids to experience this! Anyway looks like a lot of people are having twins so most will probably go in December!

i'm so excited for all the postive news i've been seeing on here. i hope that maybe on my next u/s the 2nd sac will mysteriously grow something.
i've been having nausea mostly in the afternoons, but i'm ALWAYS hungry. i didn't experience that with my dd b/c i had nausea all day long. my cravings right now are vegetable sticks and dip. i've been wanting watermelon and pineapple juice. i have found myself ripping open bags in walmart to eat while shopping.
i got a call from the re and i can now cut down on my meds. i only have to do 2 patches now and my pio shots. i'm excited about that.

Welcome Neffi and Sita! Glad to have you join our group :o)

Sita - In regards to the bleeding, I have actually had quite a bit this pregnancy. From about the 2nd day after transfer and the following two weeks, I bled. It then stopped for about 5 days and then started again for another 5 days. It's been about 10 days and I haven't had any bleeding, I think it has pretty much stopped. I made plenty of phone calls to the RE's office during this time because I was so scared, but they told me not to worry, it is normal for some women. Knowing that I am now carrying twins, they said that could have been the reason for all of the bleeding because it is more common with multiples. Try not to worry to much.

Hello ladies--

My third beta was 2457 today at 15dp5dt. This is still on the high side so I am expecting multiples. My u/s is scheduled for June 5th....8 more days! The wait is killing me!

Hi everyone!
I have just figured out my expected due date is the end of Jan- Jan 28th (thanks Neffi!) So, I would love to join you ladies for this exciting time for all of us. This will be my first so I am sure I will have tons of questions and concerns. My 3rd beta will be this Friday, I am just stressed it won't increase properly, my symptoms are subsiding and I am so concerned I even took a pregnancy test today to double check it was still positive. It's ok to laugh- DH and my mother did when I told them. Anyway- good luck to all of you~ I look forward to offering my support as well as recieving yours. I hope you all have a great Thusday! BTW- Summary of my experience so far is in my signature.

Hi Faith :o) I wouldn't worry about your beta numbers, they look wonderful to me. You might even have two in there! If you look at my signature, our numbers are pretty close and I am pregnant with twins. Good luck on Friday.

Hi! I am wanting to join you guys because my due date is Jan. 24th! I found out last week that my first BETA was 709. I had my 2nd BETA today and it is 9743. I'm thinking maybe multiples, what do you guys think? We did transfer 3 embryos, but triplets would scare me and DH to death!!! Anyway, just if anyone has started announcing to people that they are pregnant??? I want so badly to shout it off the roof top but I really want to wait until a heartbeat. I would love to hear your thoughts!

Anxious- I totally understand how you feel. I told some close friends and family as soon as I found out I was pregnant (they knew we were doing IVF so hard to keep the news in :) After we heard the heartbeats we told a few members of our extended family and since my pregnancy is very high risk (expecting identical twins!) I am waiting till 12 weeks to tell what DH and I call the "gen pop". I would bet multiples with an initial beta of 709- what dpo is that?

Neffi- very high betas can indicate twins, however I have seen low betas with twins and high betas with singletons. It really depends! But I think an inital beta of over 400 typically indicates twins.

Sita- I hear that! I am having identical twins so will not be returning to work. Depending on how the pregnancy goes, I may leave fairly early into the pregnancy...however I get paid a bonus at the end of the year so it will need to be worked out with my boss.

Faith- congrats and welcome! Don't stress too much about betas. Docs want to see a 60% increase and that is perfectly normal. I increased 83% over 2 days for my second beta and FREAKED! But then doubled my next beta and ended up with identical twins. Betas don't mean too much!

AFM- had my first peri visit (high risk OB visit) this afternoon and all is well with the twins. They are both measuring around 6.5 weeks (I am 6w6d) I was a little concerned that twin B's heartrate was only 114 (twin A was 133) but the dr. said it was fine and anything over 100 was healthy. Back in 2 weeks to determine whether the twins will have separate amniotic sacs (since I have two yolk sacs there is about a 95% chance they will have sep amniotic sacs) so I am happy about that. Feeling tired and nauseous all the time but happy to feel sick as long as the babies are good!

Heather, Lisa, Brandi, Sarah- how goes it with you ladies?
