Hi, I have PCOS and i wanted to know if any one here tried ovarian drilling as a treatment for PCOS? Does it help anyway when you are trying to conceive with PCOS.
I had drilling done in December. I dont know if it helped or not as far as being regular because I did back to back IVF's in Feb/ March and then April/May. I am in IVF #4 now.
What I can say is that my egg quality was much better after the drilling. Since there was more room for the eggs to grow, I was able to get more mature eggs. Plus it seemed to have level my hormones. I dont know if this is true or not, but in my first two IVF's my numbers were all over the place, and these past have been almost textbook.
I am glad I made the choice. I feel better about my cycles. I am waiting to see of I have a BFP from this last cycle... I hope so. Doing 4 and surgery in under a year and a half has been hard.
Thank you for the valuable information Love Bug , I am glad that you feel better after the procedure in terms of your hormone levels etc. I am praying for you for this cycle to work. I spoke to my doctor about the procedure and he also said the same thing as you that it does level hormones and is worth trying it. I am still deciding on it since my insurance doesn't cover it.
I have heard some insurance covers it under regular period stuff and not under infertility. I asked for mine to be covered that way rather than use of any of my fertility money. Maybe you can inquire about that? Good Luck!
