Hey Ladies- I posted the below message on a new thread this afternoon, not responses yet, so I thought I would share with you and see what your opinions are....

My 3rd beta was scheduled for Friday morning, but I had an appointment scheduled with my doctor this morning to discuss some questions I have had.. anyway, of course the possibilty of twins was 1 of my questions (based of my beta #'s see below). She offerred to do an early u/s as long as DH and I understood that is very early and not to freak out, we may see nothing or we could see something; and even the something can change by next week, again b/c it's early. So, needless to say I wasn't going to pass on this so of we went to the exam room. She saw 2 sacs, 1 she said was a bit "irregular" she said it is too early too say if it will be a vaninshing twin or if it will look good @ my original U/S day next Thursday.
My question is has anyone had an early U/S that can weigh in on accuracy or if 2nd U/S stayed same or changed? Any related info is appreciated. Thanks!

Today is my fisrt ultrasound. YIKES! I'm trying to think all positive thoughts. But it is a bit hard because I am the eternal pessamist, but my DH is the eternal optomist so we are a goo balance in most situations. I am 6.2 weeks, hardly a baby bump to speak of and sometimes freak out that it is just the side effects from the progesterone injections. My appt is at 2:15 in Dallas which is about a 2hour drive for us. We should be home around 4:30 central time. I will log on ASAP to let everyone know. Thank you all for being so supportive!

Anxious - Your beta numbers do seem a little high, could be multiples, but again, you never know, beta numbers can very so greatly. In regards to telling people, I was a little more hush-hush in the beginning but am starting to tell more and more of my friends, co-workers (all of my family already knows).

Sarah - Can't wait to hear about your ultrasound! :o)

Morgan - I'm doing good, just really fatigued and the moring (all day) sickness is a bit of a bummer. I am in Arizona visiting family and will be back home in California on Sunday evening (it is so frickin' hot here!). How have you been doing?

Hey girls--

I am still hanging around waiting for next friday for my u/s. This wait is driving me nuts...its almost as bad as the 2ww. I NEED to know if its multiples!

Faith77-- I have been thinking about you alot. I have heard a lot of people talk about vanishing twins. If that is the case, well at least you got your BFP! I will be praying for you and hope that your second little bean is okay!

Faith- Were they saying that the ultrasound was irregularly shaped? Note that the gestational sacs change shape ALL the time. My first ultrasound I was worrying that the shape was funny- like a teardrop (my RE didn't say anything about it). I worried until the next week when it was about a perfect circle. I went 2 weeks later to my peri and it was an ellipse- with one baby way at the top and one baby way at the bottom. If they are talking about shape, there is a great chance it will "shape" up (forgive the pun) by next visit.

Sarah- how did the u/s go today??

Lisa- that is great you got to get away! So fun. I am feeling the same, m/s all day (wayyy worse in AM but just queasy all day) and TIRED!

I am trying not to worry about Baby B's heartrate lagging behind Baby A. It was measured at 6w4d at Baby B: 115 and Baby A: 125 and 6w6d at Baby B: 114 and Baby A: 133 (2 different doctors, 2 different offices and 2 different u/s machines- second one was not high resolution so I am sure there is a margin of error) My peri told me it was fine but still...

Does anyone know any info on heartrates between week 6-7? I have another ultrasound (high resolution) on Tuesday but I can't help worrying

mb1981-- I read that the heartrate should be between 103 and 140 in the 6th and 7th week, so I'd say you are doing just fine!

Thanks, Neffi that makes me feel better!

Good luck on your ultrasound...the waiting is the hardest part- worse than the 2ww (except maybe the end of the 2ww- that was horrible!)

I am so, incredibly tired and blahhh. I forced myself to drink a V8 today since we had pizza for lunch in the office and I wanted the babies to get some veggies

I had plans tonight but I think I'm going to cancel and just relax in the apartment. SO anxious for my ultrasound on Tuesday!

Hi all. This is my first post to the "pregnant board". I got my BFP on tuesday (beta 650) and took my second BW on thursday (beta 1175). I am currently 16dpt on a 5dt. I have my third beta on monday and then will get my first ultrasound 2 weeks from monday. We are so excited as this is our 1st IVF attempt. I think I will be more relieved though after the first ultrasound.
I didn't know that your weeks are calculated by the first day of your last period. So I guess that puts me at starting my 5th week now.

welcome Dixie!

If you google ivf calc and put in your ER date they will give you your due date and a bunch of other stuff...although I noticed that they count one day early so your actual due date should be one day later than they say. Your due date should always be the same day of the week that your ER was on. Waiting for the u/s is the worst! Welcome to the WAIT! Everything is always waiting!

Ladies!!! It's twins! Their little heartbeats were 116 and 120 bpm. So I cried going into the clinic just because I was totally nervous. I held it together even through the ultrasound. Then when the doc left the room I totally broke down and my DH was just laughing at me, which made me laugh. Although he was a little teary eyed too. My favorite emotion is laughing through tears-Steel Magnolias. Thank you, thank you, thank you all for the support I will be checking in with everybody!

Sarah13- Congrats on the twins- that is so exciting!!!

Neffi211- When is your U/S? Mine will be Thursday. I know what you mean about waiting, it seems each time we reach the end we have to gear up for more waiting. After the U/S next week, I will anxiously await the heartbeat U/S. I don't know how I am going to make to Jan:)

dixie_chop- Welcome!! I'm glad to see you on the board~ a familiar board buddy:)

AFM- I got my 3rd beta yesterday - 21dpo 6832 still rising, thank goodness. I am still thinking about my early U/S yesterday and the smaller sac- I am hoping it will catch up by next week. I think the idea of a vanishing twin is quite upsetting. But, I know I have to thankful for whatever the outcome. We are all just blessed to be pregnant after all we went through TTC.

All Jan 2010 mommies- Good luck with whatever you face this weekend: ultrasounds, beta tests, fatigue, tight clothes, sore boobs, etc....

Sarah - Congratulations! Twins, how exciting :o) It is the most awesome feeling, I must admit. I have another u/s on 6/2, I will be 8w3d and am really anxious to see how mine have changed in the 11 days.

Hi Ladies,
I hope you don't mind me crashing in I figured out EDD Jan 25. I got my BFP at 12dpo with beta of 27 and have been riding beta roller coaster since I had early u/s on Thursday and seen 1 perfect sac with yolk and fetal pole and 2 sac empty. My nurse said not to get my hopes up for 2nd sac but not to read to much into it WTH does that mean? Hoping something comes of it my next u/s is tomorrow and it's all I can think of. It has been a struggle to get excited my first ivf failed no frosties and this ivf no frosties again. DH and I have told close family but waiting to tell everyone else My aunt passed April 3rd and family has been a mess we can't wait to help lift spirits up for them so praying for healthy heart beat(s) in morning. DH keeps talking to my belly come on 5 and 8. As I had 1 8cell perfect & 1 5 cell slow growing at ET.

How is everyone with symptoms I am 5wks 5days today I have nausea off and on boobs sore off and on little crammpy still but that is it. Anyone have food cravings yet?

sorry quick question when do you go for u/s to hear heartbeat I am hoping to see it in the morning but does anyone know when we hear it?

Not sure about the heart beat thing b/c I have read so many conflicting things. I have heard 6/7wks and I have heard 13/14 wks, so not sure.
My symptoms are minimal. My tata's aren't as sore as they were, but they are still tender. My cramping is starting to slow down as well but I think that is b/c they cut my progesterone dosing back some. My main symtpoms are peeing constantly and I am hungry much more often. I wouldn't say that I am necessarily craving anything specific, just hungry every 2 hrs or so. And certain foods don't taste the same. Its like when you have a cold and I can't taste it. Kinda frustrating when you are looking forward to a meal. I will take any of these symptoms over morning sickness though!!
