This is my first posting on here. I will give you a brief on me.. I am 41yrs. and on my 3rd attempt IVF. My first two attempt were BFN.. This is also my last shot at it. Main reason being that I was fortunate to have fertility insurance. If it weren't for that, there is no way we could afford it. LOL!
My ET will being around 7/13-14-15, so I have a few weeks yet..
I will be on Bravelle, Menopur. I am currently on Estrace right now..
Tammy, I noticed that you are from Indiana?? I too, am from IN. I live 2 hours south of Indianapolis, IN.
Sorry for the delay in responding, but I did not have access to a computer last week and had too much to do on Sunday.
Nidhi - sorry for the BFN. I hope you are feeling better. Good luck in your next try - have fun while waiting !! Also, I do acupuncture, but not the medicine so I can't help you there.
Debbie67 - Good Luck and sending you lots of Baby Dust.
Sabi - Almost there - keep up the PMA !!
Tammy - sorry to hear about the spotting.
Hi to everyone else
AFM - got the news 5/28 - BFP !! It was only 59 (but Scott was only a 62 - so about the same). Sunday did another test - went to 308 (around the same as before). The RE wants 1 more test Wed. (since the first was not done at his lab - he wants to confirm "doubling" from his own lab results). Then we will probably go and check for a HB around 6/11. If we see the HB, I might be able to breathe a little better then.
Sabi: I am a teacher as well for a local college. I teach part-time and am currently enjoying my summer break. I do not begin my summer class until the end of the month.
Debbie: Welcome to our site. That is good that you have IVF insurance coverage, as many of us do not. Infertility treatments can really add up! I am 1 hour south of Indy.
Hello to everyone else.

Tracy,
Congrats on BFP!! That's really great news. I'm so happy for you!! What does 59 & those other numbers mean? I'm a first timer to IVF. Why so many add'l blood tests? Just to make sure?

Twins! Due March 8, 2010
Sabi - the RE wants to see a beta > 50 for the 1st number. Then every 48 hours the beta number should double. The usually do 3 blood tests, but if the 1st or 2nd test is > 1,000 then they don't do the 3rd test. Therefore, I am hoping that the next test has a beta > 618. I will let you know tomorrow.
Tracy
Tracy,
Good luck, everything sounds real good!!
Thinking of everyone- mad busy at work(final week of school)

Hey everyone. sorry I haven't been on in a while. I am just trying to make it through this pregnancy. I went to my ob yesterday and at least my hemoglobin came up a point. Doesn't sound like much, but at least it didnt go down again. now i have a terrible chest cold. I cough so hard i wet my pants. lol. I could only tell you guys that. ha ha. The ob put me on an antibotic. im sitting here at 5 in the morning typing to you guys. I have been up since 2 am. Oh this pregnancy is killing me, but i wouldn't trade it for a thing. I have been blessed with a miracle baby as i call her and I will take what comes. I really hope you all are doing well. Good luck to all who are going through cycles. i pray you will get that baby. Hang in there, miracles still do happen if we believe. Take care.

Rhonda: Good to hear from you. I have been keeping you in my prayers. It will be here before you know it.
Tracy: Awesome news on your beta!! There is no need to take another test. Does this beta seem high to you? How many blasts did you transfer? Is there a possibility of twins? Keep us informed.
As for me, another BFN! Today is cycle day 27 and still the HPT is a neg. I will do another Femara cycle without IUI.
Hello to everyone else.
Take care all,

Tammy - they put back 5 (the nurse said the RE has not put that many back in at least 5-6 years). Given my age and their quality - it made sense. There could be a chance for twins (since we had 2 good ones), but I doubt it. The numbers are almost exactly like my 1st PG - where I only had 1. The last beta was 17dpt ET so it is right on schedule for a singlton. But, either way is good for me.
You are my hero. My both pregnancies were terrible to me also mainly due to the everlasting "morning sickness". However, I had one flu which lasted very long with hard coughs as yours. In the end, I had to take antibiotics also although x-ray did not show lung infections.
Not for long now, hang in there. I did not sleep much either in my first pregancy. I survived and the baby was doing alright. I am sure you will be fine.
Tracy,
I am so happy for you. I am sure you will see a strong heartbeat. This time, I guess your dr. will do whatever you ask them to do to monitor the baby as closely as you feel like. Please take the advantage of that. Don't count on lucks, follow your instinct - whenever you feel something not certain, go straight to the hospital to have it checked. I did the same thing at both of my pregnancies. For the first one, I felt little or no movement one day at 27 wks and a bit headache. I called and my ob asked me to go straight to L&D. I stayed in the hospital for 4 hrs to make sure that I did not have preeclampsia - they were ready to cut the baby out! At my second pregnancy at ~13 wks, I directly walked into my clinic and told them that I felt something was wrong since morning and I would like to listen to my baby's HB to make sure things were ok. The nurse of my OB was understanding and she let me listen the HB with a doppler. Speaking of which, I highly recommend you to rent one. I had it from 14 to 32 weeks of my last pg. But I regretted that I did not keep it long enough because the last few weeks was the time that I worried about the baby the most.
I am probably one of the rare ones here being such a paranoid person. I figured better worry than sorry.
I did not mean to apply the stresses that I had on you. I in fact AM extremely happy at moment for your great news. I am here anxiously expecting your baby with you!
Enjoy expecting!!!!
Tammy,
I am sorry for the neg cycle this time. IUI is not as straight forward as ivf. Is ivf never ever to be on the plan? I agree with you. I feel it is still quite hopeful as long as you do the following two things: take follicle stimulating drugs and take progesterone after ovalation/intercourse. I suspect that you would not need IUI since you got pg naturally and carried the baby to term!
We don't have formal breaks but we decide to take 3 weeks off anyway to go France in the end of the month. DH will give a lecture in Oxford UK and we figure it would be good to go France together and then he will go to Oxford in the middle of our vacation alone, leaving me and the kids with their grandparents. It will be funny since we can not understand each other and I am counting on our DD to be our "translator".
This time, I am taking everything with me, such as diapers, solid foods, even formula, just in case. I had hard time to find things two years ago in France for DD while she was exactly the same age as DS will be.
Boy, how time flies, we have "known" each other for so long now...
Take care, everyone else here.

Yasmina: Thanks for the words of encouragement. I did not think IVF would be a good option for me at this point in time, due to the expense and the age factor. Of course if I wanted to do donor eggs that would
be another story. With that being said, do you think I would do another couple Femara cycles and then switch to gonal-f (injectible)? I was thinking of doing 1 or 2 more Femara cycles without IUI. I will do the trigger shot and prog. too. We have known eachother for a long time now.
Have a nice time in France.
Tracy: I think renting a doppler would be an excellent idea, as it could alleviate any concern you might have during your pregnancy. I'm very happy that you are pregnant.
Take care all,
Tammy
