Hi Everyone!

A week ago I didnt know this board existed and in a couple of days I have become totally addicted! I wish that I had you guys for the 1st IVF cycle, I feel like I went through it without a clue. Also I learn something every visit here. I'm not sure if my clinic likes to give technical answers or they are just overwhelmed w/patients? I get answers like "looks good" or "we'd like to see better numbers" I am so asking direct questions this time around. Thanks for the info, expertise & support! :)

Yay! tomorrow is the last day of BCPs
One more week til needle bruises YAY?

to_have_fun08 Thanks for starting this thread!

mikeandjess - my thoughts are with you, I'm sure that this time it will be BFPs all around

Debbie67 - I'm another member of the "forty club" and I am also looking at the giant box-o-meds each day- soon

marymeganB - Congrats! and everyone hates the holding pattern, seems like forever

[EYCI - Congrats! the 17th is just around the corner
and happy late birthday!

statsgoddess - I hear you, we are all out of pocket too. The first try I was like are we getting a new car for all this money? DR didnt think it was funny either. Keep your chin up we are all in this together

Stay Positive - Yay! to no side effects! If you dont mind me asking, how can it be 6 wks between ER & ET?

Michele - Thanks so much for organizing! How do you possibly find the time with a liitle one at home?

amyj - Welcome! I'm sorry you went through that. I'm sure that there will be a better outcome this time. I'm new here too and everyone is so nice. It really does help to to keep in touch with women going through the same things. We will be really close on schedule too!

Good luck everyone!

Hi Ladies—Hope all is well with everyone.

I’ve been pretty stressed lately. I took my trigger shot on Sunday night, and worried non-stop until my ER Tuesday. I was worried that maybe I ovulated early or maybe my follicles were empty. Well when I woke up from the ER, I started crying I was so happy it was over. The good news was we had 9 eggs more than previously thought :D . One would think that the stress would end, it only got worse, I didn’t sleep last night worrying that our eggs wouldn’t fertilize. The nurse called this morning and let us know that 6 of the 8 fertilized, very good new! I asked about #9 and she said it was too big to use (didn’t know there is a size limit?) I guess the worrying is not going to end any time soon. Right now we are hoping and praying that are little embies growing to beautiful blast.
Thanks for listening,
Nicole

Hi katie99,

Great question! And I actually have an answer. My clinic is apparently the only place in the country to offer a very sophisticated procedure where they can test the actual embryo (or blast or whatever it's called after the ER happens and the sperm and egg get together) for any chromosomal abnormalities. They do the test and then immediately freeze the embryos. It takes 4-6 weeks for the test results to come back (which is why the freezing is necessary), but they test all 23 pairs of chromosomes. That way, when it's time for the ET, they only put back in those embryos that were completely normal, which supposedly increases the success rate after ET. Given my age (42) and the fact that there isn't much time left for me, we decided to do this procedure as we are trying to maximize our chances for success the first time around (plus I know that chromosomal problems can occur more frequently in older women). This way we will know ahead of time and hopefully have a better outcome.

Thanks for asking, hope this makes sense!

Julie & Nicole,
Great news!! Relax Julie, love what you said to dh. Pamper yourself. Nicole, 8 is a great number-way to go!!
So much going on on thread I can't keep up. I can hardly see straight. soooo busy with the closing of the school year. Bad headaches(Lupron) I imagine. I get moody after 5:00pm- what a blast!! I should of kept a journal of my "journey". I feel out of touch & I apologize. I am keeping up but no time/energy to post lately. At times bad attitude too- don't want to spread that. u/s 6-11. reduced Lupron to 5cc & taking Estrace now. Not much longer... Glad to hear all the good news!
Welcome all you "newbies" If you have any questions re:egg donors/recipient don't be afraid to ask me. I'll tell you what I know so far. I am on the receiving end of a kind & generous egg donor. My cycle is a little bit different - I don't have er just et. Babdust & stickydust to all of us!!

Ok girls so I will post my question here for you guys to help out a bit =] Unfortunately POASing is kicking me in the butt... Here it goes. I tested again today 5dp5dt (10dpo) and I got another positive. Nurse says it has to be from the trigger shot and that this is a false positive. At this point is this still possible? Wouldn't the line on the HPT be very light (almost gone) if it was from the trigger? I had the trigger shot 12 days ago.

Rosario—my understanding is the trigger shot is gone within 10 days! Sounds like a BFP CONGRATS! When do you get your beta tested?

Rosario - I think most clinics and nurses are clueless. If you are still getting a positive I would think that is a definite BFP. Good luck with your pre-beta test.

Nicole - Congrats on the 8 fert eggs. Sending tons of cell dividing vibes. Good luck on your transfer.

katie99 - Welcome to the board. When I first started, over a year ago, I was also addicted to the board. I was posting all the time. Had to quit when I was at home because DH was giving me dirty looks for being on the boards all the time. Congrats on finishing BCP's are are one step closer to a BFP.

EYCI
- Congrats on being PUPO. Don't let the 2ww drive you crazy. Are ya going to POAS. Will be keeping my fingers crossed for a BFP.

poontater - Welcome to the board. Hope your IVF journey is short and sweet. Unexplained infertility sucks. I was DX this for most of my journey. I just could never take that they just don't know why it isn't working especially after TTC for 4 yrs. Good luck on your cycle.

amyj - Also Welcome to the board. IVF can look seem really scary. My advice is just to take everything one step at a time so you don't get too overwhelmed. If you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask.

Michelle - How are you doing? Was Ghost able to answer your FET questions.

AFM - Nothing new. Kind of bummed because it looks like I will be losing my DH's insurance coverage. If he would have been able to stay on his job for 1 more week, I might have had coverage for ER. That wasn't possible so looks like I will lose all his coverage right before ER.
 It sucks but I am still counting my blessings that I have coverage through my work so most things will be covered. I am doing lots of new things with this cycle, intralipids/IVIG and HRSS and have no clue if any of this is covered by insurance. I think I will be pretty broke by the time this cycle is done. O'well, it will all be worth it if I get a BFP.

Hey everyone, Sorry I haven't been active here. I am following other forums as well. I also Blog about my IVF Experience. I think I'll post it here. It's way more detailed than just posting a small update on a thread. may just need to copy and paste it.

I also Have joined a little community of women on You tube Vloging about their Journeys. It's very encouraging. So I'm not trying to be absent I just have alot going on else where. Check out the you tube community, they are very inspiring ladies there.

Hey everyone;
Thanks to all for the good wishes. AF still hasn’t shown up and I have 5 more days of Lupron left in the kit. I am going to call over to RE tomorrow and see if I should order the other kit in case AF doesn’t get here by Tuesday. Last time I spoke to the nurse she said that she has never had anyone be on Lupron for more than 14 days but with my luck I will be the first! I am just exhausted and seriously my face is a mess. I have a huge pimple on my lip and its killing me. I just want to hide in the closet. :( But I have to keep my eye on the prize right?
Ok so I am going to try to do some personals…there has been so much activity on the board. I hope I can keep up…
Rosario…sounds like a BFP to me…many congrats and blessings to you.
Nicole…good luck for ET. 8 eggs is awesome.
EYCI…heres hoping for a BFP for you! Keeping my fingers crossed.
Sunshine…when I did IVF last time it took about 3 days for me to get AF after I stopped BCPs. Everyone is different though. Heres hoping AF shows up soon!
Tohavefun…sorry about the insurance. Paying out of pocket sucks. Although I had to go through mail order pharmacy this time I was so grateful that the insurance picked up a good part of the cost. I think the meds for the FET cost about $200 in comparison to the IVF meds which were over $3000…and that was with coverage!
To all the newbies…welcome. Hopefully our journey together will result in many BFPs!

Ok I am off to do some housework. Have a happy day everyone!
