I have an eight month old baby from my last fresh IVF cycle. I used donor eggs. Two 5 day blasts were transferred and we got our son. I am now doing a FET in August. Our RE said they usually transfer two blast but my husband and I do not want to chance twins so we are considering a single blast transfer. Our RE said our blasts are great - one 5AA, one 5AB, and two are 4AA. All used ICSI. The two blasts that we transferred last time did not use ICSI. (We had enough that we did half ICSI and half "natural"). The only difference between this cycle and the last is that my TSH is currently 3.2 and last time it was 2.3 so my RE is treating me with Levothroid during conception. My question is, should we consider transferring two blasts or not? I am worried because the two couples we know who became pregnant with twins with IVF delivered at 29 and 32 weeks and their children were in the NICU for a long time. I also am afraid of the physical demands of carrying twins at my age not to mention having three children under the age of two! On the other hand, I really want another child and don't want to waste our last blasts. Your thoughts? Thanks.

I agree with all of that. There really is no major counterpoint to transferring just one at a time, with thawed blasts. The second is still there in case the first does not work.
If you worry about twins and financially can afford 2 tries if the first doesn't work I would go with 1 at a time.
I am hoping to do a FET in december and will be going one at time also. My sister in law just had twins with IVF and I have 1 baby with IVF. The amount of work for the twins is pretty overwhelming compared to my baby.
Good luck either way you go!
Starting IVF/ICSI #1 and acupuncture.
