MikeandJess,
Any side effects w/the Lupron, headaches, mood swings, more emotional?
Would love to know if anyone else is struggling with that.

CT Michele and mikeandjess,

Sorry ladies to hear that things got pushed back. Trust me, I know how hard the waiting is and ESPECIALLY when you are as close as you two are. I guess though that the clinics know what they are doing and you just have to trust them and go with whatever changes they make. Um, perhaps use the extended time as an excuse to do something nice for yourself, to help pass the time? A day at a spa? Shopping? Watching favorite movies? Anything??

ARGH--this whole process is a big up and down! We all have to stay patient, hopeful, and positive, even when things get down. I know, easy for me to say--I'm not in the same boat (yet) that you are in. But at least you can moan on this forum and we'll still support you!! :P

Just wanted to give everyone a quick update. The embryologist called this morning informing us our ET is today (3dt). I was worried about the quality of the embryos being day3; she explained that we have 4 embryos with 1 and 2 ratings all greater than 8 cells which are very healthy and the other 2 are 4 and 5 cells. Normally they would wait until day 5, but with so few embryos they didn’t want to chance it. They gave of the choice of transferring 2 or 3, what a hard decision. DH only wanted to transfer 2 and I wanted to transfer 3 (just so afraid it is not going to work). We would be happy with a singleton or twins, but are afraid of the health risks of having triplets. Like everyone we just want a healthy baby. The doctor informed us because of my age (36) that there is only a 5% chance we would have triplets. In the end we transfer 3 embies. So officially I am in the 2ww club!!!!

Well guys I am so scared but there is less than 3 days until beta and I can officially say that what I am seeing in those damn HPT is something real. I have been getting a + since 3dp5dt. My beta that was done at work was a 25 at 5dp5dt. I don't know if thats good or not but the HPT is still picking up the hcg in my system. I am very scared and I have been feeling sick. I don't think its a bug or anything but I feel horrible after eating. I feel dizzy at work and sleepy. Oh yea very very crampy I must add. Everytime I go to the bathroom I check my pantyliner just to check everything is ok. To my luck I have not spotted not once. I am happy and scared. I never thought I would be able to be pregnant ever again. Please pray for me.

nicksgam~ Hope your doing well with the bedrest.

I received all of my meds now.. looking forward to get this going! Oh, and whomever is doing the updates, I am too a Fresh. Hoping for lots of

QUALITY eggs!

Anyone doing acupuncture, taking any supplements as in L-Arginine, Pycnogenol? Those are "supposed" to help with uterus lining and quality of egg.. I am taking those plus acupuncture once a week. Anything to better my last shot chance. Also taking other vitamins, Flax seed, prenatal vit., vit. B complex.

Good luck to those ready for transfer here soon!

Thanks Sunshine for the well wishes…I am so happy but I did have a moment last night when I said to DH is this the right thing to do? If I get pregnant, I will be 41 when the baby is born and 59 when he/she graduates from high school. WOW…but DH and I talked and we know it’s the right thing for us to proceed. Its just hard when you look at the numbers. SIGH!
Hey CT Michelle…can you bump me up on the list? I am now taking estrogen for FET on June 26th. Thanks!
Rosario…Monday is almost here…good luck although sounds like you have your BFP.
CT Michelle…I am sorry about your possible postponement. I am praying for you.
Mikeand jess…sorry about RE taking time off…what the hell is that about??? Damn doesn’t he know your trying to make a baby here? :)
Sabi…I have been on Lupron for almost 2 weeks and the side effects I have are severe acne, extremely tired and a little cranky but nothing like when I was on stims.
Nicksgam…congrats on the ET. You are PUPO!
Well I am off. I just got back from the gym and I am a sweaty mess. Have a great weekend everyone!

Hi everyone
CT_Michele: Sorry to hear of your postponement. I hope your numbers come down soon.

Rosario: Congratulations. I am keeping everything crossed for you although I am sure this is the one.

praying4BFP: congrats on AF. It still seems strange it makes us so happy! Then I still find it strange taking BCP's!

mikeandjess: I can't believe your RE took the day off when you were scheduled. Ahh! Hope nothing changes for the 30th.

nicksgam:Congratulations. Hope the next 2 weeks pass quickly and with a BFP at the end

Sorry for not replying to everyone, I am thinking of you all.

We start down reg on tuesday. I wont start stims til about three weeks after that. Only 4 BCP's left though so I am getting excited. I am trying to relax as much as possible and unwind. Work is quite hectic at the moment as we are preparing for a FDA audit next month which if things go to plan will be when we have ER. My boss is now stressing about this!

Take care

Ange

Debi67 - Are you also on the SIRM board? when you mentioned taking Pycengenol and l'arginne i connected it. i am Crazy08 on that board.

Rosario - Seems to me that you are pretty much knocked up!!! Congrats. Can't wait to see what your beta # will be. Did you transfer 2 or 3. I think you might be PG with at least twins since you never saw a negative.

nicksgam - Congrats on your ER. you are officially PUPO. Sending tons of sticky vibes. I would have also transferred 3 if I were in your shoes, I am also OK with twins.

Michelle - Hoping your E2 level is good next week. I know it sucks getting pushed back and canceled. The lupron should help your E2 level go down. Keeping my fingers crossed for you.

Mikeandjess
- Sorry you are getting pushed back but at least it is only for a few days. Those days will fly by.

praying4BFP - YEY!! AF has arrived. One more step down.

Well, gotta get off the computer. We are having family over for a BBQ today and have to get cleaning the house. I told DH it was unfair that he invites people over and then is not home to help clean. i love giving him trouble. He did do the dishes before he ran off to do some errands so I guess I will have to give him a little break.

will try and catch up on all the ladies I missed later on. Hope everyone has a good weekend.

Hi Prayin4BFP,

I am in the same boat, but even worse than you....if I get pregnant I will be 43 when I have the child. My husband will be 55. I have worried and worried and worried about what life will be like for our child to have such "oldies" as parents. It's something I really struggle with. But my husband's attitude is that it's really about how you parent the child and your attitude and how you interact with the child that counts....NOT how old you are. I found a saying that I keep on my refrigerator.......and try to live by. It says: "It's not the years in your life that count but the life in your years."

Like you and your DH, not having a child just seems waaaay more painful then finding a way to get over my worry about being an old parent, so we are proceeding forward. I hope that I can find a way to maintain a good attitude because that is so important. As a good friend said to me once when we were having this same conversation, "Your child may have parents who are older than everyone else's, but that sure beats having never been born." I tend to agree with her.

So, yes, it's comforting to see other over-40 moms-to-be in here, at least I feel like I'm not alone!

Aloha all!

Just started my shots tonight =) :D
300 of Folistim and 150 of Menopur . . .
follicles are a little low so doc wants to be aggressive with the stims . . .
Wasn't as bad as I thought . . .
DH insisted on giving the shots and I didn't feel a thing!

I have been going to acupuncture once a week . . .
I plan on going two more times before the ER and of course before and after the implantation . . . no supplements .. . just folic acid and pre-natals . . .if all goes well, we do the ER on 6/18 and implant on 6/21 0r 6/23 . . .

I've heard mood swings and headaches are things I might be expecting soon .. . Feel free to add me to the list =)

Has anyone hard of PGD? Preimplantation Genetic Diagnostics?
Thoughts?

deftonesmo- congrats on starting stims...I added you to the list. Glad to see someone else who had a high dose like me. My first ivf, we started with a low dose and kept increasing and I didn;t get as many eggs as they would have liked for someone my age, so for my 2nd ivf, they started high (375 follistim, 75 menopur) and ended up decreasing throughout, but I produced a lot more follies, so hopefully being aggressive will work for you too.

stay positive- I love your attitude, and I think your name is perfect because you have such a wonderful spirit. I love the quote about life, and I don't think there is anything wrong with being an "older" parent.

debbie- happy anniversary! I hope you had a nice day with your hubby.

chris- thanks for your info here and on the other post about the e2 levels. I really hope they come down too. I hope you had a fun BBQ with your family.

angie- try not to let your boss stress you out...glad to hear just 4 more bcp's...you are making progress now!

prayin- I bumped you up on the list, June 26th is just around the corner now

Rosario- just 2 more days until official beta, but I bet you are getting excited about a bfp...good way to start off the thread!

nicole- congrats on a smooth ET!

ok, off to do my lupron and then its bedtime for me. I will catch up again soon. I am so glad our thread is going to take off soon, pretty soon we will have lots of stimmers and retrievals and transfers coming up.
