New to IVF and need a lot of questions answered!!

Greetings and blessings all!

It's been a few weeks since I have posted on this forum but me being a newbie and this being my first time doing IVF, I had very little to contribute. So I just read and lurk. Anyway, I have some updates and some questions and I hope some of the ladies here can help me make informed decisions.
I have had every single blood test, genetics tests, endometrial biopsy, post-coital test, and hubby has given them samples in cups, etc...
These are the findings and what was told to me today by Dr. Montes:
My tubes are completely blocked AND my uterus is full of fibroids. They want to schedule an abdominal myomectomy ASAP. I have one fibroid in the uterine cavity and one big one (about 5cm?) growing within the uterine wall and they are pretty much on top of one another making it hard for the uterus to expand when they did the test and tried to fill it with water. I pretty much expected that I would have to have surgery to have them removed but then she said once I do become pregnant, I would have to have a c-section. From what I have researched, there is no real documented proof that a woman who has had a c-section or abdominal myomectomy can't have a vaginal birth afterwards. Many women have VBAC's so what's the difference? Is there anyone here who has experience with this or knows anything about it? Overall the doctor was very hopeful and I have few complaints. She can be a little hmm.. what's the word? Let's just say she doesn't seem very compassionate. She is all business but nice nonetheless. I just dont want to be told that I have to have a scheduled c-section if I can have a vaginal birth just to protect their liability and give them MORE money. C-section seems like more of a risk to me. Why are american doctors always trying to cut women open?!?! Maybe I will just go along with them, do the IVF and then have a vaginal birth anyway. My biggest worry right now is the myomectomy. From what I heard and read, I will be required to spend 2-4 days in the hospital post surgery and then 2-6 weeks resting at home to recover/heal. I'm a nervous wreck but hubby is a great support and wants what I want. I know he wants more babies as much as I do though.

Update: As of yesterday my doctor scheduled my Myomectomy for June 25.

Hi Akua-
Glad you found this site, it has helped me thru the last 3 years! My advice is to take everything one step at a time. There will be many tests, poking, prodding, decisions to make with DH, etc. I took many "breaks" during the last 3 years to regroup after many procedures and to get closer to DH.

Dear Akua,
Why an abdominal myomectomy and not a laparoscopic myomectomy?
Regarding the c- section after conception depends on the type of incisions made on the uterus during the surgery.
