BETA Question.

Post by hope2beamummy »

Hi ladies,
I just had my first BETA tis morning and they said they found preg hormones!!! I have to go back to have my 2nd one on Wed to make sure that it is def a positive, so, my question is, That now I am confused and if there is a level there does that automatically make me have a BFP? Im feeling like all the signs etc, but just confused.
First round of IVF so all very new to me.

Its a little weird they didn't tell you your number but I would just trust them, if they doctor says there good then there good and I would consider it a BFP for you! Congrats

Thanks!! My "confirmation" BETA is on Wed, but they dont tell the numbers for anything so far, they just say low or high and i am happy with that cos sometimes you can get too caught up in the details i think. Wow. Im excited now!! Thanks!

The "pregnancy hormone" is hCG, the hormone produced by the embryo to tell the corpus luteum to keep making progesterone to prevent menses.

In some fresh non-donor cycles, hCG is also used to trigger "ovulation". Sometimes a little bit of that is still around at the first pregnancy test, but usually the test is timed so that there won't be any remaining hCG from the "trigger".
