Question for you....I see that you too have to take dexamethasone. I start mine on the 19th and don't know anything about it, but sounds like you do.....is it that horrible? What might I expect? Looks like I'll be taking it for a few weeks.
I tell you what.....as excited as I am, I am TERRIFIED of these meds. I hope that I am one of the lucky ladies who doesn't really have any adverse reactions (yeah, right). Ah, the things we do to our bodies for the sake of a child! I guess it's good practice though, right??

Debbie - What day do you start DEX. I am waiting to get my schedule so I am still in limbo. Also, do you have to do some anesthsia class? I got some message from Carolyn that said she wanted to talk to me about this. She sent me an email but right now my email is hosed. I have had IVF 2 times, why would I need an anesthisa class?

Stay Positive~ I start Dex 6/17 and continue up until the BFP. ( you noticed I put the BFP and not BFN) Last two cycles after receiving the BFN I was weaned off of the Dex.
I was scared also, so don't feel bad about that. Heck this is # 3 and I am scared still!
The Dex has a side effect of not getting full, or overeating, or cravings, whatever you want to call it! I gain weight after each cycle with it. I especially noticed the "overeating" on the 2ww. That could of been more nerves then the actual Dex.. Another one is insomnia.. waking up in the middle of the night and not being able to get back to sleep.
It may not have any effect on you. People react different.. but this is one of the common effects.
My meds has changed from Gonal F and Luveris to Bravelle, and Menopur. That makes me nervous. The Bravelle is alot of mixing of vials! However, the Menopur I can mix it with the Bravelle and give one shot vs. the Gonal F and Luveris I had to give them shots seperate.(2 shots)
I will be scared with ya! Along with everyone else on here! Right? Don't hesitate to ask anything about your meds! If I can't help, there is probably someone on here that can.
But there is one vs. that I like to read, and it reminds me who is by my side..

Everyone thanks for asking how I am doing in 2ww. I am doing well. I am not as worried as I was with the ER. I have this strange feeling of peace. I am constantly thinking about the little embies and am hoping they are healthy and growing. I image getting a positive beta (maybe I should try to stay level-headed). All the time we were TTC we never had a chance, now I feel it can happen.
Julie—yes this morning I POAS. I read many posted were ladies take HPTs to make sure the trigger is out of their system. I bought a 3 pack of First Response (only $13 at Target). My plan was to take one Tuesday and Thursday to confirm the trigger was gone. Well today’s was negative, so I know if I get a positive it will be real. Not thinking I will test again on Thursday, it is probably too early. I definitely want to test before my beta, because I fear if I get a negative while I am at work I may just fall apart (want to be prepared). Glad to hear you are not going crazy, me neither (not yet).

I took my last lupron shot today and tomorrow is my first PIO shot. I'm ready to roll on Friday! Today was our last day of school!!! Tomorrow I go in to tie things up and then I'm done! I'm thinking of a pedicure tomorrow or Thursday to pamper myself a bit before my big transfer on Friday. I'm really excited, relaxed and hopeful...
I can't wait to be PUPO with you other 2wwers!! You both seem to be relaxed! I hope it continues. That is the killer part for me!

I'm brand new here, my best friend has been encouraging me to find an IVF message board, because it helped her cope with TTC W/ PCOS, so I am here.
I am starting my first IVF cycle now. MY DH and I have been married for 3 years, TTC for 3 also, he has a low, low count as well as low motility. I am some what unexplained; my blood work shows I do not produce Progestrone almost as if I have PCOS, yet I don't have cyst's and I have never missed a period so they assume I do ovulate??? I am frustrated because I had blood work done Friday as well as today to check my Progestrone levels, so I can start Lupron but of course my levels are "off" and show I have not ovulated, soo I am waiting for more info, from the group who seemed to be 2 steps ahead until now. Anyway thanks for listening and well wishes to all!! -Kasey
I'm on my 4th day of stims . . .
I was thinking that the shots hadn't really affected me and then one of my students said to me, "You are such a good teacher. You'll make a good Mom" and I started to bawl. Hahahaha . . .
I have headaches off and on, not to mention the whole emotional/teary-eyed at the drop of a hat thing too =) Pain wise, they're not bad at all . . . sometimes they sting, but it's not bad at all . . .
Had my first blood test on Monday (estradiol) . . . have my second US tomorrow . . . currently on 450 of follistim and 150 of menopur . . . is it sommon to increase the follistim early on in stimming? I was at 300 of follistim . . .

AFM - i stopped BFP on sunday..before that I was having heavy cramping and spotting, that I almost thought I will have my periods, even without stopping BFP! But now, all the signs have faded, and AF is taking her own sweet time!!

Hi everyone, sorry I haven't posted much, but I have been ready and trying to keep up. My little one doesn't give me enough time to post anymore, she is crawling now and when I put her down by me, it only takes her about 30 seconds to crawl her way to someplace I need to go get her from....she is really on the go!
Carolyn- I am so glad the embies made the thaw! Have a nice trip to prague and keep us posted, how long will you be there for?
sunshine- I hope af comes soon for you so you can get on your way
deftonesmo- Another teacher....we have at least a few here. When is your last day? It is common for RE's to adjust up or down after first u/s, with my first cycle I was adjusted up, and then with my second I was adjusted down. I think it is a good sign that they are monitoring carefully to get the best results.
KJGrant- Your friend is right, a message board is a great way to get some much needed support. I don't know what I would have done without this site, because even though I know my family and friends care, they just don't understand the same way these ladies here do. So welcome to a wonderful site!
sarah- Yay for last day of school! Woohoo, now you can relax and focus on those embies. I say definitely pamper yourself, go get that pedi! I promised myself that after got my teaching degree that I was going to treat myself to a pedicure once a month...I just love it, and being on your feet all day, you really need it. When will they thaw your embies?
nicksgam- i do the same thing with the hpt's, one early one to make sure trigger is gone, but then i do a lot more! I am a POAS addict and I drive myself nutty usually. because I am doing a frozen transfer this time, no trigger to worry about for me. But I did stock up again this time, my online bulk order of 20 pee strips came in the mail the other day...I hope 20 will be enough...lol
Chris- Thanks for thinking of me, I have my bw tomorrow, I will hopefully know my e2 levels by the afternoon and that should tell me whether or not I get delayed.
Julie- Haha, it took me forever to figure out "AFM." Even after being on these boards for well over a year, I never knew what that one meant, so you are not a dork! Or I am a dork too...lol. I am surprised you would be dreading the suppositories. I have always used them, and now that I am doing my first FET they told me I would be doing PIO. I had heard all of the horror stories about the shots, and I hate needles, so I begged them to let me do the suppositpries. They agreed but said I have to do them 2 times a day.
Angie- you are getting close to starting too, how exciting!
Wicked- I know baby showers are not always the easiest thing to go to while TTC yourself, but I am glad you can still be happy for your friend. Just think, it may be your baby shower in about 8-9 months, I know your time will come soon.

Katie- Glad af came and you can get going. Wow a 2 hr drive, where in NY do you live and where is the clinic? OMG, the monsoon yesterday morning was insane (I am less than 45 mins. away from NY), I haven't seen rain like that in a long time, my satellite went out, there was a big lightning strike down the street from me that caused a bunch of damage and of course I got water in my basement. I would not have wanted to be driving during it, I hate driving in the rain.

Michele - So, since I'm doing an FET if I get a positive POAS, is that a true positive? I'm just wondering if I should get that website from you where you bought all of those POAS. My last IVF I did not POAS at all. But I really feel like I have to this time. How do people on here get betas before their 2WW is it because they know someone or work in a lab? My RE's office is so strick on the 2WW. Oh, and when do you think, after my FET, would it be safe to POAS? Good luck with that lab work tomorrow, hope your numbers are down.
Anyone who can answer that would be awesome because I know Michele is busy. And it's nice to hear other's thoughts too!
I have a baby shower to go to this weekend, UGH! It's my DH's sister, who is only 18 years old. I've known her since she was 5 and now she's having a baby before me. I am so upset. And I am helping plan this shower. This is the 3rd weekend in a row I was supposed to go to a shower. The other 2 I didn't show up for. It really just brings me down. And on these meds I am just too emotional to go. Oh well, let them be mad at me. If they don't understand where I'm coming from - too bad.
