Hey gals! Alot of posts! I will try to catch up..

Alot of talk POAS and some helpful websites to order from.. Thanks POAS ladies! (CT and sunshine) I think I just may check that out.. I wasn't gonna do it, but this being my last attempt.. why not!

I start my Provera on Thurs.. I read where one of you ladies is starting the Bravelle 600 units.. I too will start Bravelle @ 8 vials, which is 600. (vials are 75 units) That won't be for a couple of weeks yet. sorry couldn't remember which one of you stated that, it must be on back..LOL

I received in the mail yesterday a sample packet from pampers.. inside was an infant newborn diaper to sample! I so wanted to cry!! I told my dh, this is a sign! LOL! I put it in "the room" we painted together.

statsgoddess~ I would say to wait if you really are having trouble with the teens. You don't need any added xtra stress on top. I have a 14yr. old DD at home. so I know what you mean.. her attitude is unreal sometimes! LOL! That is a tough age, I think as a teenage girl.. We had a mom/daughter shopping today. She bought some punk looking clothes, I didn't tell her not to. I am gonna let her wear what she wants as long as it's within reason! Nothing provanity.. I hope you can get it adjusted to best fit you!

Everyone have a great day..

So Frustrated

Post by KJGrant »

Thanks Katie99 and Kushka, I appreciate everyones kindness

I had bloodwork done last friday and I had not ovulated as well as again yesterday and still nothing, so they reran the test called me today saying it does not look like it will be happening anytime soon (meaning ovulation) They knew all along that my body sopposedly does not produce progestrone yet I still get my period every month, but the RE and the RE nurses don't understand it as well as when I started IVF they said it wouldn't be a problem because they will make me ovulate, but now they are saying I can't start Lupron because I haven't ovulated. I am so frustrated, so because I haven't they want me to start taking Provera???
So I will get my period, but I will get my period anyway because I do every month. I asked them is it safe eventhough I know I will ans they are insisting I won't but if I do they said it will just be really heavy. I really want to get this moving but I don't know what to do. I didn't ask if this is the only way to get things going, but part of me wants to hold off from taking it tonight and call again in the morning to make sure this is the only way to get it going.
Has anyone been told that you can get your period without ovulating, which seems to be the case with me, yet my OBGYN said you can't but my friends DR said you can. Also, has anyone eles had trouble with progestone levels. Thanks -Kasey

Hi ladies,

Geez! I can't keep up! One day away and now there are like 3 new pages!!!

Just a few things now as I'm getting ready to head out:

Debbie67: Thanks for the info about Dexamethasone. I'll try to keep only healthy snacks in the kitchen! :D I will also be taking Menopur so will be interested in your experience with that drug as well. Nothing like being prepared! And I just wanted to say that your story about the in-the-mail-pampers and the painted room and the "sign" was so touching. I really liked it and it definitely made for a warm and fuzzy afternoon.

katie99: Thanks to you also for the info on Dexa. Glad to hear that you didn't have any problems. I usually don't get too many side effects from any kind of med, but watch----this time I'll turn in to a hormonal nightmare ready to be cast in a slasher film! (LOL)

nicksgame: I love your attitude--very Zen like. That's right--just be at peace with each day, each moment. After all, someone else is really in control. Stay positive like you are and you will do much good!! Try and enjoy the 2ww as much as you can. You've done your part perfectly; now it's time to be patient and think good thoughts--something that will bode well for you at any time in life!

To everyone else: I am reading everyone's posts--promise! Sending good vibes and karma to all of you and will be reading all your updates----I'm SO excited for each of you!!!

Happy Wednesday to everyone----

Yep, I'm a teacher . . . last day of school is 6/19. . . so if all goes as planned on my calendar, I have my ER on 6/17, take 6/17 & 6/18 off, and then go back on the last day to say goodbye to my students . . . the teachers and staff at my school have been sooooooooooo supportive! Covering my class for morning u/s and bloodwork . . . hugs and well-wishes . . . I'm glad that I've been so open about my IVF experiences because everyone is helping me out so much! I only had to take one sick day once for IVF-related appointments!

Had another u/s this morning and I have 10 follies! yay! My RE was concerned about my follies to begin with, so I was stoked that I have 10, with several more that are still too small . . . follistim and menopur are the same (450 and 150) . . . getting a little sore from the shots . . . nothing too dreadful though =)
Yay!

Geeze, hopping board today! I finished up at school today and took off for a long lunch and then indulged in a pedicure and manicure! It was worth it.

The embryos should have been thawed today (2 of them). I had a message on the lab-talk system that I'm to report to the hospital at 6:30 am for a Friday am transfer. That time leads me to believe that I'm the first one. Good--- fresh docs! As long as I don't hear from them tomorrow, my embies should be good to go. I think that that means my embies will be blasts by the time they transfer. I'm not 100% on that, but I guess it really doesn't matter.

DH gave me my first PIO shot in three years this morning. Man, was that a fiasco! We didn't really review and just delved in like we knew what we were doing. Long story short, it killed and I think it was the wrong spot in my butt. I got a big ol bruise! I talked to my sister who is a nurse tonight, and she reviewed with me where I should have been putting them based on that finger placement thing, and we were way off. No wonder it killed! Hopefully tomorrow morning goes better!

I'm taking my son to my parents' house tomorrow for a long weekend, so I can rest the whole weekend without having to worry about him. He's been talking about "Mamma's" all week, so I don't doubt he'll have a great time! I plan to rest all weekend!

All you POAS people, I give you props. I did it with my failed attempt in April and it KILLED ME. At this time I'm thinking I'll only test the morning of my beta. I do have two tests left, so who knows...

Thinking of you all!

Hi everyone

Just a quick post.

Kushka - 9 is a great number, you shouldn't worry. On all three of my IVF's I only got 5-6 eggs and on all three only 1 embryo. I was disppointed with my numbers however I got pregnant on 2 out of three cycles - so I am proof that you only need 1! Hang in there you are doing fine.

I also had to share some news that I heard today - a friend at work got married in April and they got pregnant on their first try at conceiving and she found out yesterday that they are having twins! How is that for great reproduction!!!!!

Have a great day everyone

hello everybody, this is such a busy thread : ), ive read everybodys posts thankyou everyone for the support and goodluck to everybody with their cycles.
As for me yesterday bought some good news and some bad. My ER was a breeze didnt hurt and they retreived 25 eggs ( i was happy) , but it didnt continue as even with the biopsy the doc didnt find any sperm, We were devestated but the doc told us to keep faith and wait as they'll look as closely as they can. After 6 hours of waiting praying and crying we finally got some good news, the doc found a few sperms in my husbands sample 6-7 i think we were so happy i would have liked the number to be bigger but we were hopeless so even 7 sounds good and like wickedwheel said it only takes one so we're hoping the sperms are good enough to fertilize my eggs. My husband is very sore but taking all the pain like a man : )....
I thought the 2ww started after the ET but my doc said it starts after ER so i guess im in the 2ww with fingers and toes all crossed.
Anyone has some advice on how to deal with OHSS since i have PCOS and got eggs more than 10 my doc thinks i might get it.
Thankyou again ladies for all the support please pray that this cycle is successful because i dont think we can have another considering the no of spems my DH has.

EYCI - Thanks for the info! I can probably wait until day 10 to POAS - we'll see! I'll let you know - it's still a ways away!

Kushka - Thanks for agreeing! Sometimes that's what you need, is someone to tell you it's okay to do what you need to do. Good Luck Sunday!!!

Debbie67 - I'd go for it - POAS! I am this time! I'd almost rather know that it didn't work than be hoping for 2 weeks and get a BFN. That's just my thoughts.

deftonesmo - grow follies!

cuppycake - That's right - it only takes 1!

Sarah - Treating yourself before your ET! That is awesome! Good Luck tomorrow! How exciting!

I'm saying prayers for everyone![/b]

cuppycake~ wow 25 is great! I am glad to hear that they did indeed find some sperm to work with! I will keep you in prayers on this 2ww..
As far as OHSS, I know in past cycle that they said to make sure you drink plenty of fluids with electrolytes in it..like G2 or Gatorade drinks. Not sure on what the electrolytes help tho.. I hope its not to bad for ya, I heard it can be painful, OHSS.

mikejess~ I think probably will.. especially if I am reading this board. I won't be able to take it! LOL!

kushka~ 9 is awesome!

sbr~ good for you for a pampering! Tomorrow is your day girl! Good luck! In prayers!

defonesmo~ Grow follies grow! Another teacher, there are quite a few on this board it seems!

Stay positive~ your welcome on the Dex info.. I am glad someone else will be taking the Menopur also. Are you doing the Bravelle? I heard that it stings.. I hope not to bad anyway.. :? The pamper put a smile on my face also! :)

Thinking about all of ya 2ww! Sticky vibes to all!

Debbie67 - I know what you mean about the attitude :) I think it is a really hard age in general. We have gone through some interesting clothing choices as well, LOL.

AFM, I'm not thrilled, but I'm going to take another month off and try again in August when the stress of having the kids is removed. The process is hard enough anyway without having to deal with the kids for a month, so I think it is the right decision, even if I am not happy about waiting.

Best of luck to everyone!!! I'm sure I'll still check in to see the list of BFP's growing!

Hi Ladies -

Wishfull - Congrats on being PUPO! Sounds like you have some beautiful embies to work with.

Sarah - I hope everything goes perfectly for you tomorrow! I'm thinking about you!

AFM- I am having a low day during the 2ww. I feel EXACTLY the same as I did during my bfn in March. No cramps, no nothing... just my 6th sense that it didn't work. I think what set me off is that yesterday I called our embryo storage place to ask for a refund on our annual storage fee (no embies left and only used 6 months this year). The lady proceeds to scold me that "Well, if you KNEW you were going to use all of them, why did you pay for a year?" I literally burst into tears and through sobs tried to explain that we didn't expect to fail the first time in March, and didn't plan to use all of them, blah blah blah sob sob sob. Needless to say I got the refund, but it sent me into this negative tail spin. It's not the waiting that is killing me, just the sense that it is a negative and what to do after that. This has been 7 years for us, and I don't think I can go through it anymore. I feel so lucky and blessed to have my son, and I just want to have more. I feel selfish for saying that. I hope you all can understand.

Sorry... will end the ranting pity party.

Hugs to all - thinking about all of you - hoping for the best for everyone!
