IMblessed-- Hey-- Well we are doing good with Jack. He is such a happy baby. We are very lucky. He is rolling all over the place and sleeping through the night. We started cereal at 4 months and he loves it. He is smiling and laughing and is just a complete joy 99% of the time! Which makes having another one soo soon easier to handle. We are due 5 days after Jacks 1st Bday! How is your little one doing??

Neffi - Congratulations on the upcoming addition to your family, how very exciting! I'm hoping we can get pregnant within the next year as well, would love for Audrey to have a sister or brother. Wonderful to hear Jack is doing so well, happy and sleeping through the night!

IMBlessed - Thanks so much for starting this thread, I love hearing about everyone and keeping updated on what's going on.

Audrey is doing great and sleeping more through the night these days. She slept 6 1/2 hours straight last night, which is the longest yet :) She usually goes down around 9pm and wakes up a couple of times before getting up around 8:45am. She's chatting all the time and trying her best to sit up, it's driving her crazy. I'm still BF'ing but can't seem to keep up, so we're also giving her some formula. She is sensitive to dairy as well, so I haven't had dairy since her 2nd week of life and we've been through several formula's trying to find the right one. She was 14.5 lbs a couple of weeks ago, so I'm guessing she's around 15.5 now. I haven't decided when to start her on solids, so we'll need to figure that out between 4-6 months I guess. I went back to work a couple of weeks ago, so she started daycare last Monday. I'm pretty sure it has been way harder on us and I cried the first few days. DH has been dropping her off and I pick her up, which makes it so much easier.

Can't wait to hear how everyone is doing. It's such an exciting and busy time for all of us!

Hi everyone! I just thought I'd let you all know how me and my little one are doing. Zariya is doing well. She's 4 months old now and growing right before our eyes. I remember when we bought her home she was 5 lbs and 12 oz...now she's 11 lbs and 12 oz. Her arms and legs have gotten so fat. LOL She's a happy baby and really good. She sleeps through the night and has been on a schedule since she was 4 weeks old. She babbles a lot, reaches for things, rolls over on her side, smiles and chuckles. She started cereal a week ago. She's going to try 1st foods today...hopefully, she'll like what I picked out.

As for me, I'm doing pretty good. I was able to take a leave of absence from my job for a year to be a stay-at-home Mom. It has been an adjustment, because I'm not used to being at home all of the time, but seeing Zariya smile at me when she wakes up and sees my face in the morning reminds me that it's all worth it. I have an all new admiration for stay-at-home Moms, because I've learned that it really IS a job. I get burned out sometimes, but my Mom lives with us, so she helps out as well. I am so thankful and couldn't ask for a better situation.

I hope everyone is doing well with their little ones. I know you all are busy. I look forward to hearing from you all. Take care!

Hi All!!! I am so glad that everyone is doing well.

Congrats Neffi!!!! Thar is so wonderfull!!!! Its great that Jack is such a good baby, it will make bringing this next one into the world pretty easy.

Angram- I am also doing breastmilk and formula. About 60% BM and 40% formula. Gracie is also lactose sensitive so no dairy for me either. I have her on Similac sensitive, lactose free. She does ok, but I am thinking about switching her to the allergy free formula, although its really expensive.

Imblessed- congrats on being able to stay home. I too stay home and yes it is a full time job!!!! I am SO exhausted by the time I hit the bed.

We are doing well. Gracie is so much fun. She is squealing like crazy and loves to coo. She is laughing out loud, loves to watch tv and be outside. She is not much into toys, but much so an observer. She has only rolled over once since we dont do tummy time much because of her reflux, she throws up. She is a great night sleeper 5 days out of 7. Last night she slept from 8:30pm-7am and she also takes 3 2 hour naps a day. The major downer is I have to hold her for those naps. I am going to start the Baby Whisperer PU/PD tech once she turns 4 mo in a few weeks, I just hope it does not distrub her great night sleeping. I'll hold her 6 hours out of the day to get a good nights sleep anyday!!!! Gracie weights between 15-16lbs and is 24-25 inches. I'll find out for sure at her 4 mo apt next Fri. We are taking our first big trip in two weeks. 10 hours in the car, cross your fingers she does well.
We will most likely start cereal at 5 months.

I am so glad this thread was started!!!

Dakota - Great to hear from you and glad all is going well with Gracie! Audrey has reflux as well and they had to put her on Prilosec, which stressed me out at first. Didn't want her to be on meds this early in life, but it helped so much! Let us know how her 4mo checkup goes and also good luck on the 10 hour trip :) WRT your ticker, make sure it starts and ends with the only.

nwquiz - Audrey was born late February and I believe I'm going to start today or tomorrow! I've been wondering if it would arrive or not, since I'm breastfeeding, but I started having pretty good cramps today and all other signs, from what I remember from a year ago :) On one hand I'm really sad, since it means my entire pregnancy experience is finally over, but also good since I'm hoping to get pregnant again :) I have heard it's different for everyone though. Could start immediately and could take a year or longer, just depends on your hormones. Also read that some women start shortly after their little one starts sleeping longer during the night.

We're doing well and Audrey is doing great! We have our 4 month checkup next Monday, so I'm excited to see how much she weighs/measures. She's around 16lbs or more and growing by the minute. Not looking forward to the shots, but I'll stay home that day and take care of my precious little girl.

Anyone planning to give solids before the 6 month mark? I'm planning to wait for her digestive to mature a little more, but wondering what others are doing.

Hope everyone is doing well!

Solids

Post by nwquiz »

Thanks Angram i hear you on that. i hate for it to return coz i feel the same way. and on the other side i want to get pregnant again coz i already miss the feeling of it before i get so old. As for solids my baby will be 4 months in 2 weeks and am debating it so much. He cannot drink more than 4oz of breast milk at a sitting. he acts like he is drunk of being full and does not sleep through the night. so my mil suggest i try cereal at night to keep him sleeping longer but an scared. He did have some reflux and i had to give him prilosec to for a couple of days then i just stopped coz i did not see much of a difference. He is doing so much better now with thi stomach and does not cry alot. Oh just a bobbly baby hate i had to return to work. And i know you now understand how they grow like weeds. it seems by the minute he has changed or should i say with each strecth he makes. well i envy you staying at home with you littly one. have fun.

Hi, everyone, remember me? I am so happy to find everyone here and so happy to know everyone is doing so great with their little ones.

Neffi, congratulations! That is wonderful news.

We are doing fine but I have to admit that having two little ones dilute my focus on the DD quite a bit. She is now quite distant from me and I am very sad if I let myself to think about this.

DS is growing very fast, he is 20 lbs now.

Take care everyone!

Neffi, I read your post on the January 2010 Mommies thread. I am so sorry to hear what happened. I can understand you needing a break to recover emotionally. My prayers are with you and your husband.

Neffi - I'm sorry to hear about your loss, you, DH and Jack are in my thoughts.

Children - I'm sure it's difficult for your DD, but everything will work out and she'll soon enjoy being a big sister! Wow, 20 lbs :) I'm glad to hear all else is well, it's great to hear from you.

Neffi- I am so sorry to hear of your loss. I hope you can find the strength to get you through this.

Well, sad to say that I've just about lost all of my milk. I have enough in the freezer to get Gracie to Wed then onto full formula. I am guessing that we will start solids now that she will be on 100% formula. I am going to wait until we get back from Ohio before doing so. My SIL has a bumbo for me so that will be great for when I start feeding her.
Gracie's 4 month went great!! She is 15.5lbs and 25.25 inches. Her weight gain has slowed down compared to what it was doing. She was avg 2.5-3lbs a month and she didnt avg that this time. My guess is because my milk supply was going down hill and I wasnt getting much fat in the milk and the color was more like watered down skim milk. So maybe once she gets off the milk and onto all formula and solids she will go back to her normal weight gain.

Cant wait to hear how Audrey's 4 month goes tomorrow!!!

Hi Dakota - Sorry to hear about your milk, gut glad Gracie is doing well and she'll get even bigger with formula and solids :) I'm still giving Audrey both for now and hope my milk stays for a while, but I don't seem to be keeping up. She's still eating every 2 hours, so wondering if she's just not getting enough when I BF. I pump 3x at work and get about 10-12oz, so not sure what I should be getting. Either way, I've enjoyed it so far and hope to continue for a while longer. If for no other reason that it comforts her when I BF, if she's having a hard day. Anyhoo, I'm excited to see how much she weighs/measures tomorrow, I'll be sure to let you know. It doesn't look like your ticker is working, may be missing some of the info, like the http, etc?

Has anyone else had AF arrive? I'm still having cramps (been about a week now) and have felt really nauseous the past few days, but took a test and it was negative. I'm going to give it a few more days and then call my OB to see what they say. I'd be excited to be pregnant again, since we hope to have one more and DH doesn't want to do another round of IVF. It would be incredibly hard to have another one right now, but might as well get it over with while I'm already sleep deprived :)

Well Audrey had her 4 month checkup today and did great! She was 16.2lbs and 27inches :) I talked to the doc about her still eating every 2 hours and he said she may be ready for solids soon. She's had a cold the past week, so he wants me to wait until she's feeling better and see if she's still eating constantly. She's also started waking up more at night, which he said is also a sign that she may need solids. I don't really want to start her on them until 6 months, but will do whatever she needs.

Anyone planning to make their own baby food? A friend at work suggested some food making contraption, so I need to get that name again. Also, anyone else told to start working on getting your little one to fall asleep on their own? I usually feed/rock Audrey to sleep, so I'm worried about trying this out. Letting her cry just sounds horrible, although I know it's the best for her in the longrun.
