Sari - My hormones haven't been that bad. I just get horrible headaches still.

AFM - I've been resting as much as possible. The spotting has stopped and hoping I'm done with that. Sorry I can't do personal for everyone right now. I woke up with a headache so I need to rest my eyes at the moment.

Hey everyone! I would like to join in...I am 28, DH is 32, and I had my first IVF in March and my baby is due Dec. 14! My husband and I are so excited and just pray everything goes well. I've been reading your posts for couple months now, but usually don't post anything on here. I just like reading what's going on with you all.
I am hoping for a girl, I took the intelligender test last week and it clearly was a "girl" result. But, if the sonogram says "boy", that will be just as wonderful.
December seems so far away, time has come to a crawl since finding out I was pregnant!
I hope you all continue to do well and thanks for letting me crash your mesage board!!

Hi Kelly (fellow North Carolinian  ). Welcome to our thread! You say you've been reading for a couple months so you probably know more about us than you care to know :P . You're only days behind me...I'm due on Dec 17th. How has pregnancy been for you so far? How are you feeling?

aims, so glad the spotting has stopped. Continue to get your rest and take care of those headaches!

cymplicity27 - I have felt great so far, no sickness, just tired and hungry all the time! Well, I've also had two colds so far too, I'm guessing the pregnancy drags down my immune system. Other than that, I feel great! So your baby is due three days after mine, they could end up being born on the same day, never know!! How exciting!

Yes, I follow what you guys type on here, it's nice to see other people in the same place as me and have gone through everything I have. When I talk to friends and family members about it all, they really just don't understand. For example, the other day I was talking to a friend about how I worry all the time for the baby's life...and she says "oh, you can always get pregnant again". But, you guys all know, it's not that easy when you go through IVF!! It's not that simple and other people just don't get that.
So, it's great to read on here and even though I don't post much, just to know other people are in my same boat!!

Welcome Kelly! I'm glad to hear that your pregnancy is going well. This is a great group of ladies, and it's very comforting to share our good and bad experiences. Now that you have introducted yourself, please feel free to continue posting.

Cymplicity - I've been resting as much as possible. My headache finally eased up. I think today it was more allergies. Everyone decided to mow their grass and toss around the pollen.

I hope everyone has a good weekend. I just plan on resting and maybe do some internet shopping.

Hi Kelly & welcome- please feel free to post whenever and whatever! Everyone has been so encouraging and positive, it is an awesome group of gals. :)

AIMS: AWESOME about the spotting- anxious to hear what doc's say next time you're in, as far as the twins competing for space, etc......

AFM: my headaches are just about to do me in- does anyone have any advice on how to deal with them or ways to avoid them once you feel them coming on? Tylenol just barely takes the edge off :(

Nicole, I get them daily but Tylenol has been working for me. Sorry it hasn't for you :( Not sure whatelse you can do.

aims, how are you doing? Hopefully the spotting stayed away. Are you off of bed rest now? Did you go out riding in your wheelchair this weekend? :D

kelly, you're absolutely right. Other people, I don't care how close to you they are, just don't understand what we're going through. My own mother doesn't even know we had IVF! I didn't even want her to be concerned and knew I'd just share the good news with her if it were successful. I told my sisters (I have 4) and even they didn't press for too much information because they knew they couldn't relate. It was more of a "please let us know if you need anything" which for me was so much better than someone saying insensitive things or just completely having no idea but pretending they do. This board and DH definitely made my journey so much easier! I've learned more from here than I have from any doc I've been to and anything I could have found on the web.

AFM, I'm heading to my follow-up appointment today at 12:30!! I can't wait to see the babies!!! I'm also anxious to get some clarification on what caused the bleeding and if I should expect it again in the future. I'll update this evening.

Have any of you thought of trying the intelligender? It's supposed to be around 90% accurate...it can give you a idea of what the babies gender might be. Plus, it's just fun to see what it says!! I saw an ad in a pregnancy magazine at the doc's office and I left straight from the office and right to Walgreens to buy it! I was dying to know the gender. I'm really curious to also see how right or wrong it is once I get the 20 week sonogram.
Anyone else tried the intelligender?
Hope everyone has a good week!!

Ian - Sorry to hear you're getting bad headaches. Tylenol doesn't do much for me. When I get a really bad headache, I get the ice pack out. I either put it on my forehead or back of my neck. I also like the room to be somewhat dark.

Cymplicity - Yes, I'm off bedrest. I went back to work today. I took it easy at work but was still exhausted when I got home. I didn't get a chance to take a ride in my wheelchair. lol

dys - Sorry to hear you're getting nauseous. I thought the 2nd trimester was supposed to get better too. :)

Kelly, I took the intelligender and talked about it a little in this thread. According to it I'm to have 2 girls. I'll tell you what I think of that in a second  .

I went to my appointment today and learned a lot! First, it's not placenta previa. Baby A's placenta (the baby closest to my cervix) is up high in a good spot. What she did find was what appeared to be a 3rd sac!!! They are diagnosing it as Subchronic Hematoma (bleeding). On the ultrasound it looked like a 3rd empty placenta. Anyway, they say it's not in a spot to affect the babies and usually it gets absorbed and doesn't cause any problems. About the worse that could happen is pieces of it could break off an cause the bleeding I had before, but that wouldn't affect the baby...just a nuisance. So we are totally relieved and happy that they found the source of the bleeding! The tech had given up on searching for the cause and at the last second saw this "sac". Oh, my OB also told me that even if the clots came from the placenta of one of the babies, things would still be fine because the babies have about 50% more of the placenta than they actually need and if any breaks off it will heal on it's own pretty quickly.

The second bit of news we got is that Baby A apparently has something very "prominent" between its legs!!!! Woohooo!!!! The u/s tech said she'd put her money on it being a boy :D :D :D :D :D Baby B was pretty still with legs crossed so we couldn't see the "goods" on it. I'm convinced that one is a girl though.

So Kelly, I have to tell you that we were a bit disappointed with the results of the intelligender test since we wanted a boy & girl but so far it's not looking very reliable IF we in fact do have a little boy in there. It was still fun to take though and it has a 50% chance of being right, right?

Cymplicity28- First of all, I'm so glad to hear that you're babies are doing great...wonderful news. You're right, it's a 50/50 chance the intelligeder is right. It is fun to try though!

Also, make sure that you ultra sound tech doesn't mistake the cord for "boy parts"! This recently happened to my best friend, she was told it was a boy at the 20 week sonogram. She went out and bought all boy clothes ect. Right before the birth she had a sonogram and apparently the tech had previously mistaken the cord for "boy parts" and she was actually having a girl!

Cynthia: I'm so happy to hear your news that is just wonderful!!! I guess I'm not that into finding out the sex.... My DH and I absolutely love the suspense and suprise of finding out the day of! Most of all, just like the rest of you, I just want a healthy baby- but if I had a preference, it might be for a girl one day, but then for a boy the next! I'm totally 50/50!!!!

Kelly, that would suck! I'm so glad I'm getting a ton of scans and hopefully that rules out that happening for us! Before the tech told us she thought it was a boy she mumbled to herself "no, that's definitely not the cord". The good thing is that our official anatomy scan will be done over at UNC (hospital) so it's like we'll be getting a 2nd opinion . THEN we're taking part in a twin study (also done at UNC) where they'll do another anatomy scan....so by August we should know for sure and we won't paint the room blue until then
