Went to see my midwife today and my blood pressure is up. She asked if i had been worrying (do we ever stop) but last night i had some pain and it woke me up, after about half an hour it went away. Every time i move in bed i get a pulling feeling and i toss and turn quite abit so i wake up most of the time trying to do it gently. She says it is just the ligaments and everything is stretching and not to worry. I have not to lift anything heavy and to try and keep my posture good no more slouching. Just don't over do it. She listened to the heartbeat and it was fine you could hear he/she kicking as well so i felt better. She said everything felt fine as well. She had hoped that might of had brought the blood pressure down but it did not, so she is coming to the house tomorrow.
I went to my mums and had a good cry with a cup of tea and a twix.
I thought i felt the baby move on saturday and today i felt the same so i definately know now what it feels like.
My mum asked to hear the baby heartbeat sometime so she is coming with me in two weeks and my sis might be there too.
I will be so glad after this scan on Friday.

The worry just never stops, to be honest when I was pregnant I couldn't believe the pain I used to get, I never associated pregnancy with pain to be honest its our bodies doing all weird things. Just try and enjoy your pregnancy when baby is here its weird cus you will miss those movements and bump I do, but its much nicer holding my son but I would still like 2 feel him inside as well if that makes sense.
She is just being safe - blood pressure can go up when we worry - mine blows several gaskets when I have a scan so try and get the midwife to take it at other times rather than the hospital on my scan day!
As for pains at night - yikes awful - i really can't get comfortable and sometimes the stretching is awful - worse than that are my ribs - can't seem to get comfortable and they hurt so much - do not help they are under my boobs.
I too am flapping about my scan - a week tomorrow.
LEt us know how it goes but sure it's ok

I too get stretchy type pains in bed at night. Helen, I am like you and toss and turn most of the night so I have to turn over really slowly and gently as well. I also get a really strange sensation where my heart is, it feels like a funny tingly feeling and I normally get it if I sit slouching so my boobs are resting on my ribs!! I read that your heart is working 50% harder and pumping more blood round so I have put it down to that but its a really weird feeling.
I think I have felt the baby moving as well, it feels a bit like wind, its really quick and I sometimes think did I just feel that or not as its over so quickly.
I can't wait until my next scan on Monday, just to see the baby again and check that all is OK. After much discussion we have decided to find out the sex, I just hope the baby has moved positions as at my last scan 4 wks ago the baby was on all fours so if its still there they may not be able to tell the sex. Having psyched myself up to find out I will be really disappointed if I can't find out now.
Its true though that the worrying never stops, I worry if I have pains, I worry if I don't have pains, I keep looking at my bump convinced that it has shrunk, I worry if I don't get indigestion after eating!! I think I will be mad by the time August comes round
Anyway, waffled on for long enough now, hope everyone is taking care of themselves
i echo the other girls, the pains can be awful.
sorry about your BP, the great news though is that your midwife is keeping a close check on you, and the baby is doing well. the baby movements are great , mine are daily now and feel funny.
helen, tracey, jules, best wishes with your scans. look forward to hearing your updates.
My BP is back to normal. She says that i am just one of these people who get all worried at the appoitments and that is why it was as high there is a name for it but i can not remember what she said. Thats why they like to do it a home because i am more relaxed.
I tried sleeping last night with a pillow between my legs to stop me moving as much and it did help only woke up a few times. The heat at night is unbelieveable my dh keeps putting the covers back on me and i just keep kicking them off. He says i feel cold, he should be me for a night.
Only one more disaster i was listening to my local radio show and the presenter is pg. She like me loves Mcflurries so people were texting in a giving their comments and one was a midwife who is pg herself and of course my worse fears were confirmed as i thought they are made with unpasteurised milk and should not be eaten. Luckily i have only had the one but the presenter is gutted and know wonder.

Great re the blood pressure - mine has been taken at home recently - mainly because my midwife is also a friend and lives up the road!
I will try the pillow trick - I get so hot and then my ribs so uncomfortable - never get more than 4/5 hours sleep as it is a major thing turning over isn't it?
Re the Mcflurrys - you have really suprised me - are they sure - unpasteurised? You are not allowed unpasteurised milk in this country - the cheeses are mainly imported where it is not a problem but unpasteurised mcflurrys at mcdonalds - sounds very strange - I would email or write to head office and find out for sure - that way if they are not you might get some freebies for the stress it has caused.
Oh by the way I think the name you are looking for for that problem with high blood pressure when you are not at home is called "Tracey flapper disease"!!!

Just to add that I too read that Mcflurry or any sof whipped ice cream is a No-NO - I too was extremely gutted. Being pregnant over the summer I thought they'd be a lovely treat - seems it's not to be!!!
Had my 16 week appointment with the midwife today - all is well, heartbeat was really strong - I feel so much better now
I thought that to. I definately know not to eat soft whipped ice cream as i read it in a book and i thought Mcflurries were softed whipped. You would of had thought it being such a large company they would make it with pasteruised milk. I will need to find out for definate or its going to be a long summer. I will try the website later i've got a doctors appointment at 12. A very busy week with appointments this week.
Lisa is great to hear the heartbeat it is so reasuring. When we go on holiday i am going to see if i can rent one so i can listen in every day.
