I had period like cramps my whole tww and even a week after my BFP. They just recently stop. During my tww I was so stressed I thought for sure AF was coming but it never did! So I guess it can be a good sign. Hoping you get your BFP very soon :D

I haven't noticed the AF-type cramping until today (3dp3dt). And today, they are BAD! I don't normally get AF-type cramping until right before my period is due and it usually isn't bad at all. Since this is my first IVF cycle ever, I guess it could be the progesterone. But I'd prefer to think I'll be getting a BFP soon!

Good luck to everyone who is still waiting!

And Stay Positive, I'm thinking of you! I know it's tough to wait, but your turn will come.

Hi ladies! It sounds like everybody is progressing well. Thanks for all of the nice words to me for my BFP. I sure appreciate it. It's very strange to be on the receiving end of it!

rsdrisco: I know the 2ww is so hard! It's still hard waiting for the next milestone/blood test/ultrasound. The days seem to go by so slowly, don't they? You had asked if those of us with a BFP felt we needed the blood test to confirm that we were pregnant...for me, for the 4 days before my blood test, I kept taking pregnancy tests. The line got a little darker each day, and the day before my beta test, I bought one of those digital tests that says "pregnant" or "not pregnant". When I finally saw the word pregnant, I started to believe it. The blood test and hearing somebody from your clinic telling you it is indeed a positive is a lovely confirmation. How long have we all waited to hear those words??

Hopeful_009 and Lauren526: what day are your beta tests? It's so interesting that most of us have felt cramping after the ET. I can't help but think that is a good sign! :D

Abogenpohl: I hope you are feeling more rested now. That is awesome that you had 6 that fertilized! Keep us posted on when you have your ET.

Cuppycake: Welcome to the 2ww! One step closer:)

AFM, I have my second beta test tomorrow. It's funny, my husband wanted me to take another pregancy test this weekend (just to make sure) and now the positive line is very dark. Hopefully that means my beta numbers have been increasing as planned. My spotting is virtually gone, so I'm very relieved about that. I think it happened the day after the first time we had sex since the ET. I have put the closed sign up on that for a little bit! I would like to prevent any more spotting if I can.

I am still a little unclear about what activity is ok when. Here are my questions: When have you been told running (treadmill runner here, short distances ~ 3 miles most) would be ok? Does anybody know if it's ok to go out on a boat? We have a boat, but I've been nervous to go out on it so far.

Food questions: What kind of fish is ok to eat during pregnancy? Is it ok to each shrimp? My husband is so worried about what I am eating now...

Beverage questions: What do you think about drinking caffeine free Diet Coke? I've kicked the caffeine part, but I love my Diet coke!

For those of you who have had a BFP, when does your clinic schedule your first ultrasound? We are traveling for the 4th of July, so I would LOVE to have it before we leave on that trip.

Keep me posted on how you all are doing and feeling!

How Soon After Transfer Can a Beta Test be Done????

Post by hopeful_009 »

Alexis:

Am glad all progressing nicely with you. My first beta test is scheduled for Friday 19 June but my hubby wants us to wait for a few more days after as he's concerned that Friday will be too soon. It will be about 8 days post-5-day transfer on Friday. Is that too early????

Am feeling horrible. Very nervous and anxious and just had news that a friend is a few weeks pregnant so am really down.

Anyway, I thought i should mention some info I picked up on good and bad foods. I have been drinking decaf coffee since I started my fertility journey. But what I've learnt is that decaff is not necessarily good as it tends to have much more chemicals than regular coffee because of the decaffeination process . Apparently if you must have decaff look for organic decaff. Hope this helps. Now I just stick to Rooibos tea.

alexis: I think that most fish is ok in moderation. Just steer clear of raw fish, and shellfish like scallops. I was wondering the same thing about caffeine free diet coke, but it still has aspartame in it, that is my concern... I know that a lot of pregnant women drink beverages that contain aspartame, so I don't know. A friend of mine with 3 kids told me you are better off just having a regular coke every now and then, because there are less chemicals. I am not sure about jogging or boating.

Anyone know if getting a pedicure would be bad? I am concerned with the foot rub.

Alexis: When I was pregnant with my son, I heard many contradictory things about what not to eat, drink, etc. All I can say is, I believe as long as you consume things in moderation, you should be fine (caffeine, aspartame, splenda, etc.). As for running, I believe my clinic suggested waiting 2 weeks post transfer and then I assume it would be okay. I play soccer and, pregnant with my son, I played until I was 6 weeks pregnant and had some spotting. That scare made me stop. So I suggest you ask your doctor about the running and, if they say it's okay, go for it. However, listen to your body and change to a walk if you feel you're overexerting yourself.

:D Period like cramping is completely normal during early pregnancy it is the round ligaments on the left and right side of uterus that attach to the ovaries that are stretching to prepare your body for that baby to grow and stretch that uterus. This could totally be a great thing!!!!

Hi ladies! Thanks again for answering so many of my questions! I sure appreciate having all of you as resources.

I was able to ask one of the nurses about running and shrimp/shellfish today and she said no to running for now and no to shrimp/shellfish/tuna. I forgot to ask about the caffeine free Diet Coke, but I agree that if it's in moderation then hopefully it's ok.

Lauren526: I think getting a pedicure would be a wonderful thing! That makes me want one too:)

Hopeful_009: Did your clinic want to do your beta test 8dp5dt? If so, why not just go for it? When I was 8dp4dt, my home pregnancy test was showing a very light line for positive already:) I understand about it being so hard to hear when other friends become pregnant while you are working so hard to get there. You will be so amazed once you get your positive. It's so hard to believe, but such a wonderful feeling! You totally deserve that and will be there soon:)

AFM, I had my second beta test today and it was 1560. The last one was 4 days ago and was 138, so I'm so relieved it has increased so much. I keep getting little uterine "twinges"; not enough to call a cramp but definitely something going on in there (or so it seems). I will be able to have my first U/S on Friday...can't wait! It was way sooner than I thought it would be.

Baby dust to all! This has been a very positive month; hang in there those of you in your 2ww!!!

Hey Girls!

Ugh, this waiting is killing me! I never know what to think. Sometimes, I swear I am pregnant, others, I feel like this won't be the cycle... The ups and downs! My beta isn't scheduled until June 22nd (14dp4dt) Does this seem late to you guys? I was thinking of taking a hpt on the 21st... Do you think this may work?

UGH![/i]

they say as long as the "trigger is out of your system and your beta is high enough a hpt will be fine. I waited until 12 days after the trigger to check so you should be fine by then.

Hey gals,
still sending baby dust to all. I just figured I would give my 6wk2day update of my U/S.

Baby A: 5.5mm with heartbeat of 111
Baby B: 5.7mm with heartbeat of 120

Yeah both are growning at the same rate and look fine. We saw AND heard the little heartbeats!!!

period like cramping

:D period like cramping without the presence of bleeding is very common. It is the round ligaments on the left and right side of your uterus growing and stretching for that baby. I think you are okay no worry!! :D
