Second IVF attempt

Post by HelenQ »

Hello everyone,

I am a newbie and am also Irish. I have started down regulation for our second attempt at IVF. I start my injections of Bureslin next Tuesday.

I hope to learn a lot as a newbie here and hopefully make new friends.

I am attending Cork Fertility Clinic.

Last year we didnt get a positive due to poor egg quality, which left me totally distraught. However, this time I am more focused and positive (my mum died just as I started my first IVF). I have been doing acupuncture and reflexology since before my first IVF and have continued the treatments and have also sourced an acupuncturist near my clinic so plan to have acupuncture just after the embryo transfer.

So here I am looking for support and of course will help and support in any way I can.

Looking forward to meeting you all during your treatments.

Helen

Welcome and good luck with tmt and no 2 IVF - you are better off putting this on the General thread which everyone uses - people dont' really look on here unless they are supposed to be working (like me) and don't want to so do everything else but...........
Take care

Hi Helen

Welcome to the boards. I will echo what Tracey has said to post on the 'General Forum' as this one is fairly quiet. I am sorry your 1st treatment didn't go well and about your Mum. You seem focused and positive which is good.

Good luck Helen.

Hi Helen
I post on this board most days but must say that I have never looked in the is IVF Forum at all. I Just look on the General Forum, so do post there ... many more people will respond to you.
I'm browsing because boring football is on and I'm a bit of a sport widow.
Sorry to hear about your failed ivf, and your Mum. What a lot to go through.
I have just had a failed ivf. Waiting to start a FET in April.
It looks like you are doing everything you need too. I'm on the hunt for a good acupuncturist too.
You should join the March or April Cycle Buddy thread. You can then chat with people doing a cycle at the same time as you. Its great support.
All the best with your treatment.

Aged 32. 1st ivf failed March 04. Going to try again with my frosties.

Hi Helen

Just read your posting, good luck for your 2nd attempt. My first attempt failed too, and I am due to start buseralin injections again in April, with EC date being 1 June.

I too am having acupuncture, and also drinking the yukky herbal brew as I go to a chinese acupuncturist. I am also taking "Fertility Plus for Women" which Marilyn Glenville recommends in her "Natural fertility" book, so hopefully this time around, I will be more "in tune" and my vitamin and mineral dificiency (if any) will be sorted!

Like the other girls say, so sorry to hear about your Mam too, that's alot of sadness to handle in one go..........

Good Luck - keep us all informed.
1 failed ICSI, 1 failed FET, next treatment starts in May with EC on 1 June 2004, hoping for a 2005 baby!

Hi Helen,

I just wanted to wish you luck with your second treatment. You are starting the right way by being so positive!!! :D

All the best

P.S I agree, this is the first time I've used this forum - the 'general' one is better in terms of more people viewing...
