Hi my name is Kasey, I am 24 and my husband is 30. We have been TTC for nearly 3 years now and are trying to begin an IVF cycle (our first) right now. DH has a very low sperm count and low motility to boot so we will be using ICSI. I have somewhat unexplained infertility my blood work shows that I do not produce progestrone?? Which to the doctors means I do not ovulate or get a period,(sort of as if I have PCOS, but don't have cysts) which I do every month, just very short and light. I was sopposed to start Lupron last friday but my blood work, of course showed that I have not ovulated, so I went back in yesterday to get it redone and still nothing. They were going to rerun the blood work to check for estradiol levels and call me back today. I am so sick of waiting and I am so gald that I found you all who are probaly all also sick of waiting too, good luck to all of you, you are all in my thoughts and prayers.
Hi Kasey. My name is Jane I am 36 and my husband is 32, this is the first time I have used a forum board. I just so wanted to meet girls going through IVF/ICSI. We have been trying for a baby for 3.5 years, been through all the tests etc. I have unexplained infertility and my husband has low motility, so we will be using ICSI. I have just been put on the pill for 3 weeks then I will start the Buserelin injections for 1 week. I know how you feel about waiting, I had my first cycle cancelled because they are closing the department for 2 weeks!
Hope you get sorted, we have to be strong.javascript:emoticon(':)')
Hi Jane it is nice to meet you. That is so frustrating that your first cycle got canceled, it is so werid to me that that close down, but I guess it makes sense in the long run to assure everything is running smoothly. My clinic closes 3 or 4 times a year for a week at a time and it has worked ok for me so far. I have not heard about Buserelin, I am taking Provera and will start Lupron injections on Monday, I was sopposed to start last friday, yet things got a little delayed, nothing to dramatic thankfully. Again ts nice to meet you Jane and I will be thinking of you.
Hope everything going to plan and you have started your Lupron injections. What does this medication do?. The Buserelin injections that I am due to start taking at the end of the month are for ovarian suppression. Thinking of you and hope you are getting closer to your dream. Jane
Lupron is the most confusing of the drugs, I guess you could say it causes ovarian supression also, from what I understant it works in 2 phases first cause you to over produce estradiol then the 2nd phase causes overian supression I guess because they said phase 2 was menopause like symptoms. Thanks for your well wishes and I send the same on to you.
