Time for Round Three!

Post by daisy_99_00_411 »

Hi all. Long time no see. Here's a little history about our infertility journey. I am now 25 and my husband just turned 30. He has limited mobility and motility and low sperm count and I guess after two failed ivf cycles they are now looking more into me being a cause of the infertility also. I changed clinics and states for that matter. I am lucky to have insurance that will cover majority. I think I have to pay about 30 dollars every time I go to the Fertility clinic. I am consulting with the doctor tommorow that actually did ivf on my sister in law and made her pregnant with twins. We have done one cycle at Duke in Durham, NC, one cycle at Jones Institute of Reproductive medicine, and now we are in Texas looking forward to lucky cycle number three. I had a few questions for the board. I am overweight weighing about 215. I am on weight watchers and have lost about 12 lbs in a month which is great. Will my weight affect the outcome? And also: my past two cycles have been very few eggs. My last cycle was only 13 eggs, 8 fertilized, and only two made it to the three day transfer. Is there any way to improve the number and the quality? I am only 25 and didn't think I would have this much trouble. This board gives me hope! I am praying that each one of you gets a BFP~ Baby Dust to you All~

Welcome to the board. i am also doing round 3 of IVF. Well actually its round 7, I have been canceled 4 times. Losing weight can't hurt... good for you on the lost pounds. i think your egg count is good. Much more then that and you threaten the quality of the eggs. Your RE can change up your protocol and that could possibly help with egg quality. I have also heard that Acupuncture can help. Good luck with your cycle and keep us posted.

I am currently pregnant with Triplets and this was my 3rd IVF. I am a poor responder (usually 8-9 eggs). This time my RE had me on a microdose lupron flare protocol which produced enough embies to bring to a 5dt. I am also overweight but as long as you don't juggle with your weight, cycles should be ok.
