Good afternoon ladies and greetings from my home-away-from-home hotel room in Denver.
To get caught up:
CTMichele: I feel like you are our fearless leader and now you have sad news...that's hard for me! I'm really sorry about the canceled cycle. IT IS SO HARD TO WAIT and just as hard to lose all of the forward movement (i.e., shots, pills, etc). But I guess that not starting over is NOT an option, so you have to try and find the patience. You are very young and that will work to your advantage (it's not like those of us in our 40's who having to wait a few more months could make all the difference in the world). I'm thinking of you and hope that you find a way to cope as best as possible.
Kushka: I think the ups and downs are normal. There must be sort of a "honeymoon" period after the ET, then reality sets in and the excitement can turn to worry or impatience or negativity. Hopefully you will swing back and find the PMA again as it gets closer to beta. You've got such a great sense of humor---can you try and use that right now in any way? Humor is very therapeutic. Good luck!
Julie nurse: I, too, am on my first ever IVF cycle and was scared to death, especially of the meds. But notice that I typed that in the past tense, which means that you really do get used to everything and the fear lessens and somewhere in there you start to feel empowered and excited and positive and it's a good thing. I hope it will happen to you, there's no reason it shouldn't. It helps to be on these boards, for sure. We're behind you all the way!
Daisy106: Your comments about the hotel room definitely helped! You're right--no dogs to feed, no dinner to cook, no DH stinky shoes to pick up...I even went and bought some flowers to make it more "homey." I also LOL at your governor comment!

Try to contain your POAS anxiety and best of luck with your beta!!
sbr: I am just so, so sorry to hear of your news. But I admire you for knowing what you need and want to do next, which is take a break. Sounds like a very reasonable plan to me--whatever it takes to take care of YOU and find a PMA again when you are ready. We'll all be here when that happens to help you along.
Rosario: I LOVE that you posted a pic of your pee stick! Priceless! You should take up scrapbooking!

CONGRATS on your triplets and holy moly!!
sabi: I am so anxious to hear your beta results. If this IVF cycle (or maybe 1-2 others) doesn't work, we may be looking at egg donor too. So keep us all posted and good luck!!
prayin4BFP: Oh my, I'm just so sorry about the test results. I'm older like you and know the feelings about waiting too late, self-blame, etc. I can't tell you to just stop having them because you've got to work this through in your own way, but I can tell you that you've got to stay focused in this very moment...i.e., you are doing something right now to try and get pregnant. You are involved with a clinic, a ER, you've done a recent cycle, they have information on you, etc etc. You are already ahead of many people, yes even our age, who are only thinking about looking in to this. Take some time to decide what you want to do next but try not to blame yourself...maybe this cycle was just not meant to be but that doesn't mean it has to be the case next time. You are in my thoughts.
KatieG: WELCOME. This is great group of ladies who have much to teach, share, and encourage. Best of luck with your cycle and keep us posted.
Debbie67: Tomorrow is the big day!! I have found the injections to be very reasonable, no real problems, so hopefully you will too. And from what I know, I think the estradiol # of 49 is fine. My clinic always says they like to see it below 50, and last time I checked, 49 was definitely below 50!

Keep us posted!
wishful27: YOU GO GIRL! Such great news! A big huge congratulations to you and DH!!
AFM, I have officially moved in to my hotel room (it's a 4-hour drive from my house to clinic so I'm here having daily u/s and b/w until the ER around July 2nd). Today was first u/s where they look at follicles....the report is that I have 12 on the right side and 12 on the left side. Of those, a total of 15 already appear to be growing. I think this is good news....would you all agree, especially for an old 42 year-old??
They are going to cut my Gonal-F dose from 300 to 150 starting tonight but all other meds stay the same, so I think overall they think I'm doing fine. I am still feeling no side effects from the meds and staying positive and dealing much better with the fact that I'm gonna have a long wait between my ER and ET. So, when I'm not at the clinic I'm here in my room working on my dissertation and reading this thread! I'll keep updating you on the progress......until then, PMA to everyone!
