Tangela- From reading these boards for a long time, I would say 3 5-day blasts is a high risk for multiples. But then again, I have seen people do it and not get pregnant. So I guess it really comes down to your own opinion, and if you are willing to risk multiples. You have to ask yourself, how would you feel about twins or even triplets? If you are 100% ok with both of those scenarios, then why not? Has your RE offered this as an option? My RE won't do it for someone my age unless all 3 of the embryos were not good quality. Or, in my upcoming situation, I have 4 embryos frozen at day 3, so if we try to thaw 2 and one doesn't make it, we would thaw the other 2 and potentially put back 3, but not blasts, only 3 days. Good luck with that decision.

I tried to find a good article about the pineapple, but no luck. When googled, just a lot of ladies like ourselves talking about it. It looks like the concensus is after ET though, again, just read aand find info before doing it. I am torn about it this time. I didn't do it the first time and got a bfp, and then I also did not do it the second time and got a bfn, so I am more of a believer that if it is meant to be, it will happen no matter what I do.

I honestly dont remember at all when I ate the pineapple. I just remember chowing down. We are putting in 2 5 day blasts. We did the same on our fresh cycle. I had a hard time deciding between 1 and 2 but we are going with 2. Its werid that I dont remember much from my fresh cycle. I think all the stress of going through it I blocked some of it out. I am a little nervous b/c I feel like I forgot everything. I also did not have to do PIO for very long. Only like 2 weeks b/c I had OHSS so was in hospital.

CT - Really sorry to hear about this cycle but just know that the FET cycle is shorter (and less shots) than the fresh so before u know u will back on the wagon along with all of us. Thanks for doing the tracker.

Tangela - our office will not transfer more than 2 blasts because of the risks of multiples. u should talk to u're RE about this and do what u feel will be best for u.

Gecko - congrats on the 5 yrs and hope u guys had a wonderful date last nite. I too want to make the most of the hot tubs now. Can we continue with hot tubs till ET?

KayCe - how is the stimming going so far? grow follies grow!

KatieG - even i don't remember much from my fresh cycles. maybe we did block it out. Am sure though every thing comes back fast - like riding a bike!

Good luck ladies. Here is to lots of BFPs!

Thanks ladies!

My RE told me that they were frozen in two straws with 2 in each. He asked me if he unthawed 1 strw and one didn't survive would I want to unthaw the other and of course I said yes....he then asked if both from the 2nd unthawed and they both survived would I do 2 or 3 and I said all 3. He looked at DH who said he didn't care and my RE said, well okay I'm make note of it. It's really hard because I'm sure I'll be fine with 2 and I know 3 will be difficutl on the body before and defantiely after. I'm going to continue to pray about it and ask my RE for him honest professtional opinion. On my fresh cycle I transferred 2- 5 day blast and neither attached, so I'm praying that if I transfer 3 I will increase my odds.

But then again-- as you say Michele....if it is meant to be it will happen.

My prayers will continue for an abundance of Baby Dust on all of us!!!

Staring Mid July

Post by Lisahope67 »

Hi!

I would love to be part of a July/August group. I have been trying to have a baby for nearly 2 years and this will be the first time participating in a message forum.

I actually postponed my IVF cycle because I have been so stressed out at work. I will hopefully be starting my IVF cycle in Mid July. I plan to take 3 weeks off of work to avoid stress.

I am looking forward to talking with everyone in July.

:D

Lisa- welcome, and I am sure you will love this forum. I never knew the first time I posted that I would become addicted and "meet" so many new friends. They ladies are awesome and I don't know what I would do without them.

tangela- we are in the same situation with the thawing of embryos and the number we have. I will not know how many I will transfer until that day when they thaw. If they thaw my first straw and both embryos make it, I will do 2, if only one makes it, they will thaw my second straw and I will put back all 3, if they all make it.

babiesgalore- I have heard FET's are shorter, and all I can do is pray my e2 levels starighten out after af...

katie- goodness, I hope the ohss stays away this time, I have heard some nasty stories about it

nothing new from me, I think today will be day 4 of provera, so maybe af is about a week away, right when I will be leaving for my brother's wedding...good timing huh? I am in the wedding party I was hoping to be preggers rather than af'ing, but it's out of my control, it's just my luck. Maybe af will come quick after the provera and only last a couple days so it will be gone by the wedding...wishful thinking

michele from my understanding I cant get it again b/c im not stimming just thickening the lining. Welcome Lisa this place is great. We are understand the process emotionally. Its hard to expain if you dont have to deal with infertility. I too am addicted. Good luck and stress is no good---probably smart you are taking time off to focus on you and the process.

How is everyone else doing?

Hi everyone
I have been reading these boards for weeks now only contacting one person through PM but have decided to join you all if that is ok?
Tomorrow I go for my appt on "how to" and what to know about all the meds. Not too sure what to expect other then learning how to administer the meds and what not. How many days before your AF do you start the shots? I am afraid I am going to have to wait for August to start when I would love to start in July. I guess I will find out tomorrow. I am getting nervous and excited...this would be my first IVF!

Thanks for taking the time to read!

Lisa - welcome to the board. Anything to avoid stress will be good so great that u can take time off from work. For me, i find work gets my mind off things.

Penny - welcome as well. Hope the appt went well. Remember to ask any questions u may have. I did not initially but then was calling my nurse nearly everyday esp when the meds arrived. Most prob u will be on BCP for about 3 weeks then the injectibles will start but u're RE will go over it with u as everyone's protocols differ. Good luck with everything.

I started my Lupron shots this morning and amazing how it all came back. I really thought i had forgotten how to give myself a shot but it was a piece of cake - for now(:-

Happy Monday everyone!

Katie- that totally makes sense, I knew that but I forgot you were doing an FET, so that is good no chance of ohss

penny- I remember being very nervous my first time too, but you will be a pro in no time. The waiting is probably the worst part, whether you are waiting to get started, or waiting to find out if it worked...but we will be here to help you get through it.

babiesgalore- yay for starting lupron. I think it's like riding a bike, no matter how long it has been, once you learn how to do it, you never forget.

Nothing new for me...just waiting and waiting and waiting some more. All I can do is take one day at a time and try to keep my mind off of it. I am thinking I might get af while out of state for my brother's wedding, I hope that doesn't mess anything up if I am not able to get to the office for u/s and bw. Oh well, I will check in again soon.

And to our newbies....if you would like to be added to our list, please just post and give me your dates and info, and I will add you. Thanks.

CT - Hang in there and hopefully the wedding will help take u're mind off it. I found the FET cycles easier than the fresh - less meds. Am sure u will be ok for the u/s and b/w - let u're nurse know and see what she says. Try to have fun at the wedding. How long are u going for?

Hello ladies!! I just went to my bw and u/s and I got good news. So I have 6 follies and they are all between 11 and 10 ml. 6 is huuuuge for me!! I am really happy, I've never seen so many follies all together, RE was happy too. I have to keep stimming and go back for bw and u/s on thursday!!! I just couldn't wait to share this good news with you!!!

Penny welcome!!! I got my BFP on my first try!!! Hopefully it will work for you too!!! Good luck on your "class" tomorrow and in no time you'll be a pro just like us!!!

Katie how are you?? Any news??

Babies its crazy how all of a sudden you remember how to do it all over again!!! is like you've been doing it non stop!!! Great news you started your meds!!! Good luck with your shots.

Michele from my experience things never ever go according to your plans. Just enjoy the party, have fun and a few drinks (now that you can), and just take each day as it comes. When are you leaving??

Lisa welcome!!! I know you don't need more stress to add up to IVF. So if you feel more comfortable taking a few weeks off good for you!!! Just try to keep you mind busy because sometimes this can get even more stressing than work. Specially the waiting!!! Welcome and you've come to the right place!!!

Tangela good luck with your decision!!! I never had any choice because I've only had 1 or 2 embies on each cycle. I'm not sure what to tell you other than be careful what you wish for, multiple preg. are high risk!! Good luck.

To everyone tons of baby dust and patience dust!!!! I'll keep you posted.

Kayce- I'm so happy for you! I know its exciting to see all of the follies togehter> maybe you'll have some extra to put on ice :-)

Penny- welcome!! My advice when you get your meds... go through them one by one and make sure you know by memory which each one is used for. I studied my protocol like it was my final exam. I almost never had to guess if I was doing something wrong. The only thing I wasn't sure about was where to take the prog. shots. I had my nurse to draw circles on my butt so that I could be sure to get it in the right spot....made DH trace the circles after each shower

Lisa- Welcome to the boards!!! Honestly I wish I would have posted when I went through my fresh cycle, these ladies are great and very encourging! Try to stay relaxed during this process as it can take a toll quickly IF you let it.

Michele- I'm still praying on what i should do. I definatley don't want 1 of my embies to be destroyed if both staws thaw successfully. I'm positive my RE will not transfer 4 blasts and neither would I...... I'm sure closer I get to the tranfer I'll have my answer.

Babiesgalore- I hope I swing back into the shots like you in the next couple of weeks :)

AFM- Just waiting to start my Lupron shots on 7/12. I had an ultrasound last week and my uterus was very pretty (as the nurse called it)! They also took B/W and I havn't received a respose, so I guess it was okay. I go to accuputure next Tuesday and hopefully she has contacted RE and have a yes or no if she can join for the transfer.

Thanks ladies- this board is really keeping me relaxed this go around.

Tangela - We are faced with the same decision as you with the frozen blasts. They are frozen in pairs. My RE said that they can thaw them and then refreeze if they have to. We decided to decide at the time of transfer. We only want to transfer one unless they thaw poorly, then we will transfer two.

Kayce - Hooray on the follies! That is awesome. Keep up the PMA and keep us posted.

Babies - Glad the lupron shots went well. I will be staring mine on the 13th if my supression check goes well.

Penny - Welcome! You will do fine with the drugs. They get easier the more you get into your routine.

Michele - How is the Provera going?

As for me, I am just hanging in and have no appointments until late next week. I hope it all goes well.
