6 days post ET - CRYING ANYONE?

Post by Jeannie T »

Hi Everyone:

I'm a lurker (sounds creepy) but I love to read all your friendly posts :) and have been here for a few months.

My ET was 6-25-09 and I'm waiting impatiently for my Hcg on the 6th of July.

My flight back to the US was laborious at best and I must have cried 2 or 3 times a day. Now, I'm not a cryer by nature but don't find it a weakness in others, just a natural reaction.

However, MAN have I been one big crying, slopping, wet faced mess lately.

Is this a sign of pregnancy? I'm telling myself that it is just all the hormones I am taking (donor eggs, etc) and not a true reaction.

I cheated and did a home pregnancy test this AM and it was negative but I don't put too much faith in it.

Any ideas ? :)

Sounds like side effects of progesterone. It is associated with mood swings, including depression.

You may well be pregnant, but the tiny trace of hCG produced by the embryo at this point would probably not cause those effects. It better not have that effect, because that tiny amount will be a thousand times greater in a few weeks!

Jeannie T,
I've been crying like a baby. I think it's the meds. I'm on Estrogen tablets & Progesterone oil injections. I also got my BFP yesterday!
Good luck!

THank you a BUNCH Ghost and Sabi :)

CONGRATS on you BFP Sabi :)

My doc in Czech didn't indicate I needed more than the one HCG test on the 6th...hmmm...seems like many of the ladies here are getting more than one to verify a progressing pregnancy....do you ask your Ob/Gyn to have one done every day or every other day I wonder (thinking out loud).

I'm trying to let my paranoia go as I started with 9 donor eggs, 4 were almost immediately lost, doc implanted 2 and the remainder 2 that survived did not make it for cryopreservation - I'm very sad and afraid the donors eggs were not strong...I'll cough up all this second guessing to the progesterone and depression ;o) because I'm a nervous nellie right now.

Jeannie,
Hang in there your beta is right around the corner. Don't worry so much not good for embies. Remember, it only takes one. Relax & wait- we should be used to it by now right? Think positive thoughts & pray real hard that's what I did. I didn't even poas- too afraid. Don't lift anything heavy & stay away from caffeine & smokers. I cried 3 x's last night at dh's b-day- boy, it's going to be a long 9 mos-poor dh.

Have a super day!
