Hi girls. I hope everyone is doing well and staying cool...if that's possible!!

Not much new here just getting bigger by the day. Went to the doc yesterday and am measuring the full 40 weeks now. I told him, I am starting to feel like I measure 40 weeks. Not too bad, just things that we take for granted like rolling over in bed! Who knew that could be so hard!! I also have been having major carapal tunnel in both my hands so they're either numb or hurting. Fun stuff! But really overall...all is still well.
Let me tell you what my husband who thinks he's funny-but really isn't- did to me at my appt yesterday. I stepped on the scale to get weighed and of course I have been watching this closely, and so far doing pretty well. Well the scale was bouncing around (you know like it does on biggest loser) and the numbers were all over the place. Well it finally stops jumping around and stops on 258. So according to this, I've gained like 55 pounds from the week before. Of course looking back, I know this is unrealistic but at the time, I started sweating and my face got all flushed and I just couldn't understand how this could happen. And the nurse is standing there just ready to write it down like it was fine. So anyway, she starts laughing (after letting me believe this for a minute or two) and points behind me. That a** was stepping on the scale behind me. I was ready to kill him! Then he couldn't figure out why my blood pressure was higher than normal a couple minutes later!

Alright girls, I'll write more later...gotta go make dinner.
Talk to you soon.

don't you love a husband with a sense of humour!! That is a rotten trick to play!

I had that carpal tunnel thingy too - it was most disconcerting - I kept wondering how I was going to pick up my new baby - luckily it righted itself soon after the birth - get yourself a good wrist support - but I'm sure you know that Nickster! You are doing great !

it's Sunday - I cannot believe she is one.

We are going to take her to the local Childrens' Farm followed by a big No. 1 chocolate cake in the cafe with some friends. Not sure if she likes choccie cake but I do!!

Happy late birthday to Amelie!! Wow the time flies doesn't it? I hope you had a great day! Did she love her cake? Did she jump into it?

Nickster- Wow! I would have killed my Dh!! But it was funny! glad to hear you are doing ok! I know what you mean about sleeping on your side and wanting to just roll over quickly and you can't! I had to rearrange all my pillows everytime I rolled over. I hated it! After having my babies, I came straight home and laid down on my stomach and rolled around just because I could!

Mel- hang in there! Try to sleep now b/c in a few months sleep will be a thing of the past!! Sorry to say! Oh- and if the doppler says not to use it until a certain week of pregnancy follow the directions! I tried it too early and drove myself CRAZY until I was 21 weeks and then could hear it... just like it said I would on the package...which I ignored b/c I was impatient. :)

I'll have to return later. Sam is throwing a royal fit gotta run...
Jenn

Hi girls, just poppin on for a quick update.

I had a doctors appt yesterday. My blood pressure was elevated, he didn't like how swollen I was, and there was protein in my urine...all signs pointing to pre-eclampsia. He drew blood before I left and had me come back again this morning to review the blood work and re-check my blood pressure. My blood pressure was higher than it was yesterday (but really still not too bad) and my blood work was ok. He is having me do a 24 hour urine collection to see how much protein is in there and having me take blood pressures at home. So, I am officially on bedrest and hope to stay away from being admitted to the hospital anytime soon but he seems to think it's not too far off. The trouble is, I feel good and have no symptoms of pre-eclampsia...that's the wierd part. Even my blood pressure and everything else isn't too bad, yet, but he said things can progress a lot quicker with twins than with one baby. So that's our story.

I hope everyone else is doing well. I will update later. Have a good weekend everyone.

Hey Nickster! Hope everything goes well with your testing, sorry to hear that you have to be on bedrest. I've been thinking about you. You must be HOT!! You are almost 34 weeks though, so you are in the home stretch. Hang in there and keep us posted!

Things are crazy here. We are EXHAUSTED! Baby Sam is colicky and that is not fun. We have been put on the ultra pricey nutramigen formula to try and help him out. Hope it works. I would pay anything at this point for 3 hours of sleep.

gotta run Anna just woke up...

Take care everyone!!!!!!
Jenn

Hi girls - just dropping in to say I am thinking of you all.

Nickster - you take care now and do exactly as the dr ordered - I hope the next few weeks go quickly - try and relax.

Jenn - sorry you are not getting much sleep - ams was colicky for some of the early weeks but we turned the corner around 10 weeks.

Mel - hope you are going well.

I had a scan yesterday to check what is going on - answer is nothing - no sign of any ovulation in the future - dam poly cystic ovaries. The chinese herbs I am taking do not seem to be doing much - oh well - I am too busy to worry at the moment.

Ams is on a super model diet - all she will eat is fruit and water - she is very slim line (light!) - I wish she would eat bit more - I guess fussy eaters are quite common at her age.

Must run - take care all . Hi to all the sistas.

Hey Everyone!

Happy Birthday Amelie!! Pictures?!?!?!

Nickster! I hope you are doing okay! How's your testing going? How are you? Is bed rest killing you? I am thinking 'bout you! Follow doctors orders, mmkay!!!

Ang - I am so sorry you aren't ovulating! That so sucks, darn those herbs! I'll do a ovulation dance for you, it's similar to a rain dance, but different.

Jenn- I am sorry baby Sam is colicky! Gotta suck! I know when the twins were young, they were on the Nutramigen as well, my sister found the best deals on Ebay. Those poor girls were on it for more than year. I know it can get expensive, but you have to do what you have to do, right!

Mego- I saw on FB that you came out of the closet!!!! YAY!!!!! So, how are you feeling? Still icks?

I am trying so hard to rest, BUT this week has been tough, our friends in Chicago are having so marital issues and they had their 10 year old daughter came in for a week, today is her last day in town. My Dh took her down to Orlando for the day to go to th the parks, because I am just wiped out. I mean done. As I am typing, my eyes are burning from exhaustion. And I've gotta clean up, it's amazing how dirty things can get with a 10-year old running around.

My Doppler is working great! Since the day it came in, and we have a happy and healthy heartbeat! It's about 160ish beats per minute. Our next appointment is August 10th - I am getting big pink vibes! But we'll see.

As I was flipping back through the posts, and reading, I came across my ticker and when I saw 172 days, I started to have a panic attack, that just seems so soon. Too soon. How is that possible???

How is January that close?

Doesn't make sense!

Hi girls! Sneaking on the computer for a minute while dh is out doing some errands. Poor guy, he's had a lot to do lately between work and keeping up with EVERYTHING in the house! He really is such a good hubby!
My blood pressure has still been pretty good. No symptoms of pre-eclampsia except a headache off and on but my 24 hour urine collection did not show such great results. He called yesterday and said if I take my BP and have just one high one, go to the hospital and bring a bag because I am staying. So far..so good. I have another appt on Tuesday and he said bring a bag to that too, because same thing...if anything's abnormal, I'm heading to the hospital. So bascially we have no idea when these kids are coming! Could be tomorrow, could be the scheduled date 3 weeks from now, who knows! Anyway it goes...it's soon....so soon....can't wait!!!

Angie~ Sorry to hear you're not ovulating. Can you get on Clomid? I know that's not a drug for PCOS necessarily but I know it makes people ovulate. Just a thought. Darn herbs...why can't they just work??

Melissa~ So glad to hear things are going well with your pregnancy! I know what you mean about things seeming so close (even though to some it may sound far away!). I feel like my whole pregnancy has just flown by, especially the last month or two. I keep thinking, I guess this is how mom's must feel when the babies are born and they grow up so fast!

Jenn~ Sorry to hear poor Sam's colicky. I have to tell you, reading your post I'm like...ooh I might have two like that at the same time...yikes! I guess we will soon find out. I hope he gets better soon.
How's Anna taking to her new brother??

Well I'm going to go before dh gets home. His outings are usually pretty brief because he's scared to death he'll miss somehting while he's out!

glad you are hanging in there Nickster - 35 weeks is excellent - every extra day now will be a bonus for the twinnies - you can be reassured that whenever they are born now they will be fine.

I did take clomid once but it didn't work - it made me go a bit loopy too! shame really as it would be a whole lot easier than doing IVF again

time for bed for me - night night.

Hey everybody. Hope all is well. Just saw Nicki's babies on Facebook and it made me think of the thread. They are so gorgeous!

I'm doing well...Lucy is growing everyday, I swear. She's talking like crazy and is sleeping in a "big girl bed" now. She's a riot. She's also started to throw tantrums like crazy...oh, those terrible 2s are a-hittin' I'm afraid! I'm feeling much better now that I'm out of my first trimester. Just getting fatter and fatter. We got to see the baby at our last doctor's appt 2 weeks ago as she couldn't hear the heartbeat with the doppler, but as soon as she turned on the us you could see the baby kicking and waving. Pretty cool.

We're going to Cancun next week for my sister's wedding. I'm very ready to lay by the pool for 4 days!

Hope everyone else is having a good rest of the summer (although I guess it's not summer for you Australians, huh?). It's flying by!!!

I don't have Facebook so I won't be able to see the babies, oh poop!

Hope everyone is doing well. We had our 2 month check up today and all is well. Dr. is keeping us on the expensive formula :( But it is helping so we will pay anything at this point for some sleep!

Gotta run, our guy is getting baptized this weekend and I have much food planning and house cleaning to do!

Take care everyone!
Jenn
