hi ladies :)

Halfway point indeed! This is so exciting, and I have to say once again, it's been really great to be able to post on here and share with you all in the journey, since we've all been on this journey for a long time, since those first shots of Lupron or whatever each of us took.

nancy- a mini vacation sounds like a good idea! glad you two had time to relax and unwind.

charr- good news on your baby boy looking good!

excited, ianmichael, wondercat- hope you are all doing well.

Does anyone remember when nursegator was moving? we haven't heard from her in quite sometime.

Newest thing- I feel like my belly "popped". Now, I could just be particularly bloated or retaining water today, but all day I have felt like my belly popped out from under my boobs. I'll see what it looks like in the morning!

Anyone else dealing with round ligament pains lately? I have this sore spot, to the right and a little below my belly button area. It's tender to the touch. I don't think the baby on that side is big enough yet to put enough pressure to make me sore like this. I read that there is a ligament in that area on both sides of the uterus, and they tend to cause sore spots as the belly expands. Just wondering what you all were feeling.

Hope everyone has a lovely and safe July 4 holiday!

Whenever I get round ligament pain, it's more like a sudden stabbing pain, but it doesn't remain. I'm very certain it's not anything uterine, it definitely feels different, much like what I remember with Ian 7 years ago.

I'm definitely feeling more movement now, every day- IT IS SO REASSURING :) !!!!! I'm ready to coast for the next few months!

I thought nursegator was moving the end of June???

I am feeling all kinds of crazy things! First and foremost, baby has a new nickname: The Puntmeister. Every few hours I get a severe punting session, especially when I'm lying down. We're talking the kind of punts you can see poking out under my now-flat bellybutton. (Very cool, except at midnight when I'm trying to sleep.) I am not looking forward to the possibility of an outie, so I'm holding onto the fact that both my mom's and sister's just got really flat and wide.

I am also still getting the twinges of ligament pains, mostly on my right side which I think is typical. Yesterday I confirmed with a very trustworthy authority - my mom - that those other strange things I'm getting are Braxton Hicks contractions. That would be when my whole abdomen gets as hard as a rock, and kind of sore and achy. It doesn't last that long, but man for a couple minutes a quarter bounced off my belly would put an eye out!

aspotofTea - Wow, you have only just now popped?! Lucky. Last time they checked I was measuring 1.5 weeks ahead, and despite my ever-expanding bosom (I'm falling out of 32DD's - what the heck!) my belly has been winning the race since around 8 weeks. I guess it's good, gives the girls a place to rest on... :?

My in-laws still aren't talking to us, which is actually a very relaxing way to head into a long holiday weekend - we don't have to worry about splitting our time between families! I have tomorrow off and am taking Monday and Tuesday, my last use of vacation time before the baby comes. Too bad that up here in the northeast we're in the middle of some kind of biblical string of crappy weather, but a vacation is always nice.

HAPPY 4TH OF JULY EVERYONE!!!

heh what I meant by "popped" was more the growth from under my boobs. I am 20 weeks but carrying twins, I look about 6 1/2 months along currently. I'm curious as to how big this belly is actually going to get!

Phew, here I was thinking you were one of those non-showing women. My friend who had twins in June didn't show at all until she was 18 weeks, starting at 104 pounds! She made up for it once she started to grow, though. Happily the last I heard she has already dropped 32 of the 52 pounds she gained.

It's funny to me how people comment on your size when your pregnant in ways that they never would otherwise. Even my grandmother yesterday said, "You are really getting BIG!" Thanks, Nana.

(I think the Puntmeister is telling me he wants to go home! puntpuntpunt...)

ASPOTOFTEA: I have beenexperiencing some round ligament pain too. Over the weekend especially, it was pretty strong for one day!

Anyone getting ready to buy new shoes with bigger size? Went from 8.5 medium to 9 wide.

Saw my OB yesterday. He said BP and weight gain were right on track alhtough I thought my weight gain might be too much? I am 20 weeks along now and put on 11-12lbs. How about you guys?
Also, got to hear the heartbeat again through the OB's doppler which was cool.
Hope everyone else is doing good and happy 4th to you all!!!

Aspotoftea - I had one day where I was having really bad round ligament pain to the point where I couldn't stand up straight. Since then, not too much thankfully.

Nancy - I think your weight gain sounds fine. I've gained 13 lbs. which I'd been feeling was quite a bit, too. I just keep thinking if I keep this up, how much will I put on in the next 4 months!

Happy 4th to everyone!!

Hi all.

We had another ultrasound Friday and she looks great! I was very relieved because I have been sick all week - fighting a bad cough, post-nasal drip, etc. I went to my regular doctor who gave me some things to do (like a nasal rinse) and gave me a prescription for an antibiotic in case I needed it. The perinatologist told me Friday that I had to start it and it would not hurt the baby. I feel 1 million times better! It was so strange when I coughed - my whole belly would move around.

We went crib shopping Friday after the ultrasound. My husband got so into it. It was really sweet :)

We have decided to have the perinatologist deliver us. I love my regular OB, so the decision was not easy, but we have been through so much and I am on so many meds that I just feel safer. I know we are in good hands.

She has been moving around like crazy - but mostly at NIGHT, so the little nocturnal kid is keeping me up. Friday night from 2:30-5:30. She needs to cut back from the bar scene and get on my schedule :)

I too have been thinking of Nursegator. Hope the move was easy for her and the triplets are all well!

None of you have anything to complain about in the weight dept. I have gained 30 pounds since the start of my IVF cycle. I gained 10 from the IVF hormones before I even got pregnant and since then have put on another 20. I cannot stand it, but my doctor says it is totally normal (easy for him to say!) I cannot even imagine how huge I will be by the end of the pregancy - though as long as everyone is healthy, I really don't care!

Glad everyone is doing well - and hope you had a great 4th!

I also gained weight from the cycle. I already couldn't fit into my clothes right after the ET, let alone once I was actually pregnant. I did notice that most of that weight was kind of a bloaty weight through my belly and sides, and that has subsided mostly. At 18 weeks I had gained 14 pounds from what I weighed before starting my cycle and 10 pounds from what I weighed when I first went in at 8 weeks. I think though some of that was losing bloat weight and gaining actual "baby weight." Nobody has said anything about my weight being good or bad. Something was murmered about "a pound a week" - I wasn't paying much attention. That was a month ago, but I honestly don't have a scale in my house so I have no idea what I weigh now. I'll find out next week when I go in again.

Whatever they say, unless I start looking in the mirror and thinking I look like Shamu, I am so not going to worry about what weight I put on. I just feel my little punter in there and I think, "If you want me to have another big ol' serving of Omi's homemade stuffed shells, you got it, kid!"

Wow, he really goes crazy when I sit at the computer! I think he's telling me that the sun is low enough that I can drag my belly down to the beach and sit under an umbrella for an hour before dinner.

Hi ladies,

hope you all had a good 4th!

Weight gain: well, I had put on 5 lbs after ET, and a big part of it was the OHSS. After that, I gained another 12lbs.

Ankles and feet: for the past 3-4 days, my goodness, they ARE swollen. My BP is good though and after I put my feet up, they significantly improve, so I am not concerned about pre-ecclempsia; but men it is annoying. They tell you to keep your feet up during work, but I don't think my patients would appreciate having my feet up on their chest while I'l working on them! :-) Anyone else experiencing that?

Belly: oh, it is bulging out all right. I have a little boxer of my own, who gets excited especially after I eat!

It is really cute that some of you are getting the nursery ready already. I will probably get to it in a month.

Have a wonderful week everyone!

Hello once again November Moms to be:

Okay, new week, new question! Anyone feeling Braxton Hicks contractions? They just started for me about a week ago. I'm not enjoying them all that much. No pain, just sort of makes me nervous.

I can feel it coming on, and I usually get the tightness in the same spot- on the right of my belly, and sometimes my lower pelvic area. The most I've felt thus far in a short amount of time was three in about an hour and half on Saturday night as we were watching a movie.

Just wondering about the rest of you.

Been feeling okay. It's HOT here now (live in So Cal) so that's sorta uncomfortable, but it's not too bad yet. The boy has been very active, he has a distinct kick now. The girl has not been active, I sorta wish I could feel her more, you know, peace of mind, but I think I've felt some soft kicks from her side in the last few days.

How are all of you? How are you all feeling? What's new?

aspotofTea - YES, that is exactly why I logged in to post about the fun of Braxton Hicks. I have been getting the mild painless kind for a couple weeks, but this weekend they upgraded to where some of them have been quite painful. Mine are usually all the way across, not just on one side. I just got back from the doctor because now I am also having UTI symptoms, and peeing seems to set of a contraction. The nurse did a cervix check and everything seems fine, so this goes under the header of just one more thing that's annoying and uncomfortable but not dangerous. On the timing, my doctor's office said not to worry unless I'm getting 6 an hour. Otherwise relax, put my feet up, and drink a lot of water.

It's 72 and cool-ish in the wind out here on Cape Cod, and for us this is some of the warmest, nicest weather so far this year. Warm would be nice, I'm tired of being cold when I get up in the morning. My boy has been SUPER active. Unless he kicks in his sleep too he must have only gotten about 5 minutes of sleep on Sunday. My belly looked like something out of an alien movie all day, except for when he flipped around and punted at my bladder for a while (which also may be causing the UTI-like symptoms). A little irritating when I'm trying to sleep, but for the most part I just think it's so COOL.

My husband is reading this pregnancy for dads book, and for this month it says that us mothers-to-be may be feeling jealous about having to "share" the pregnancy now that it's so obvious. I feel just the opposite. I want everybody in my family to see those little kicks!

How has everybody else been? The board has been really quiet!

Hello all. A quiet board hopefully means everyone is doing well and enjoying their pregnancy. I haven't had any of the Braxton-Hicks yet. Just get a little sore when the little guy is turning over in there. Mine is also quite active which I kind of appreciate because I take it as a sign everything is ok. My DH and I are off on a business trip overseas tomorrow. I'm a little apprehensive but my doctor gave me the ok so I'm praying that both baby and I do fine. I'll be in touch upon our return. Take care, ladies!

Hi ladies,

how far along are you now? I'm 22 weeks and I don't think I have felt them yet. I do however get a lot of kicking from my little guy?

How are the hands and feet? My fingers are definitely swollen and I think the wedding bed is going to go on hibernation in a week or so... :-(

Charr: have a safe trip.

Definitely have had the Braxton's for at least a few weeks and I'm just now 20 wks. They are no biggie, but the movement is so crazy between last week and this week! WOW!

It is a very active little one, very much like my little guy who will be 7 in October. I'm thinking it's a boy, but we aren't finding out, in fact, the u/s was yesterday and everything looks perfect :) whew.

xoxoxoxo!
