Nicole-I am so sorry that you are going through this. It really messes with your emotionaly stability, doesn't it?
Here is what happened with me-I started spotted almost right from the beginning, around week 4 or 5. I was scared to death and was told there was nothing the doctors could do so we will just have to wait and see.
Ultrasound came back fine-but I kept spotting...and spotting....and spottting ( I mean a couple of pantyliners a day)-until finally I didn't even want to look when I went to the bathroom....but every time I went for an u/s everything was fine.
Needless to say-this went on for the first 4 months until one day it just stopped. But if I were you I would stop the lifting at the gym and any sex. I also was told to stop running -which killed me but I did. I figure I can always start up again after these babies are born.
Hope it helps-just think positive-take it REALLY easy and don't look down when you pee (just kidding)-
Melissa
Melissa! OMG, I totally don't want to look down when I pee anymore!!!! LOL!!! It will kill me not to work out, but I'll get over it..... I had some help last night from Ben & Jerry.... ice cream does an over stressed psyche good!
Lili- It has been really quiet lately! Hopefully everyone is doing well.
Nicole- I hope all your spotting has stopped. I remember how nerve wracking that was.
Melissa- I hope all is well with you. You have been through so much with this pregnancy.
Marina- How are things with you?
AFM, it has been a bit crazy and hectic. I am 37 1/2 weeks and still not completely prepared for this baby's arrival. Talk about procrastinating! I guess I am still scared something will go wrong. My mother also had surgery for a pacemaker and now my dd has the flu. They highly suspect it is the swine flu but are not testing for swine any more, just that she tested positive for the flu and since she had her vaccine and that is the flu going around the dr says it most likely swine! She has had over a 104 fever and I spent the entire day in the hospital after calling my ob. He had me go to the hospital to get swabbed for the flu and put me on tamiflu so I don't get too sick if I do get it from her. I am not thrilled about being on the medication but I can't afford to get a fever like that. So I guess I could go any day now. I'll keep you all posted.

lyly: I totally understand how you feel about the not being or getting completely ready- I STILL am amazed I'm really pregnant! I have had a few moments of "quickening"- it's so funny! I'm trying to appreciate not being kicked around for as long as I can, because this little one is a mover and a shaker on ultrasounds! I have been suffering from HORRIFIC headaches and wonder if any of you have any advice to give????? They are just awful, throbbing and start at the base of my head and wrap all the way around to my forehead. I'm calling my doc's office today to ask for special meds for them- I practically had one all weekend, but that may be due in part to spending a weekend with friends who have HEATHENS for children- My Lord! They are the best form of birth control, EVER!
Hope to hear more from you gals, too! My next appt isn't until 6/25 and they will then schedule my 20 week u/s- if there are any defects, then we'll talk testing then. I'm not thinking we'll even do any at this point. I love this little bugger so much already!
Lyly, I can't believe you are going through all that at almost 38 weeks. You must be exhausted! Have they starting checking to see if you are dilated or anything yet? And I wouldn't worry about not being prepared-who really is? Everything will get done in time-don't worry.
Nicole-glad that your pregnancy is going along well, but I def. would call to see if you can get medicine for the headaches. It could be that you need more fluids. Whenever I get one-I load up on the fluids and I always feel better. My girlfriend also used that stuff on the annoying commercial-I think it is head on-or something like that.
AFM- I went for my NST and growth US the other day and found out that they are now measuring 5lbs. 5oz. and 5lbs. 6 oz. -so I am delighted. I really wanted to get them over 6 and if I can hold on for the three more weeks it might even be close to 7, which would be great! I am hoping that I can do (my son was 10lbs. 3oz) it. Other than that-I am just really uncomfortable once again. The boy has moved from transverse to breech and it seems to be adding pressure in different areas that is making it harder and harder to sleep. But I only have 3 more weeks as of Thursday-so it is getting close!
Melissa- sounds like the babies are a good weight especially for twins. How many weeks are you now? Afm, my office has not checked my cervix once! They do things so wierd. I go for a weekly biophysical profile (BPP) but have not had any NST except for when I have been sent to the hospital. I had a million NST with my daughter and bpp started when I passed my due date with her. Looks like the baby is doing well. He is scoring 8/8 on the bpp so I am happy with that. I am so hoping I go into labor on my own and don't have to be induced and also hoping I hold out until after June 28th (my daughter's dance recital). If I do not go into labor on my own by my next appt. (6/23) they will schedule me for an induction, but the ob said I can wait until June 29th so I can be at the recital as long as the baby cooperates (lol).
Hope everyone else is well!

Cara turns 7 months old today. She got her first tooth yesterday, now I am worried about breastfeeding and biting . Any suggustions? I had weaned my first dd before her teeth came in, so I have no experience with teeth and boobs.

Lyly,
Sorry to hear about your dd is sick. I will keep her in my prayers and you'll see that she will be better. Try to be careful with your pregnancy wow girl you are almost there so hang in there. I am thinking of you.
Glad to hear that everyone is doing good that is always great news. Can't wait to hear all those baby stories from all of you girls.
Rhonda -
I recently weaned my son at 11 months. He began biting a little when his teeth came in. When he would bite I would take him off the boob for a second and then put him back on after a few seconds. He quickly learned that he couldn't bite me. I also learned to identify his cues before he would bite. He would let go of his latch a little or do some funny things with his tongue. When he did those things I would take him off before he even had the chance to bite. I found that it was only a habit for a couple of weeks when his teeth were new and he was experimenting with them.
If you have introduced a sippy cup I would suggest a soft spouted cup. Babies have to suck the soft spot and are more prone to biting the hard spouted cups. Breastfed babies then sometimes transfer the biting to the boob.
Good luck and don't let the teeth or an occasional bite scare you.
Well girls I am officially 39 weeks today and still pg! I was having a lot of contractions sunday and monday and then they just stopped. They were very irregular but painful and weren't doing much since the ob checked my cervix on tues and I was not effaced or even starting to dialate. I am hoping to make it to my dd's dance recital on Sun and I am scheduled to be induced this coming Monday the 29th. I should find out the details of my induction later this afternoon. I'll keep you all posted.
Hope all you other preggo girls are doing well!
I can't believe how old some of the babies are around here. What an amazing journey it has been with all you girls. Some of you will soon be having first birthdays!

thanks for the "boob advice". I have started her on a sippy cup and luckily did buy a soft spout! Yeah me! never thought about the hard ones encouraging biting, I just knew she would probably take to the soft spout better.
lyly,
Hurray for 39 weeks!. you are almost ready to meet your little one. Keep us posted.

Hi Marina- Well here is the whole story.....I went into the hospital Mon June 29 to start the induction. I got there around 5 pm and they never bothered to tell me I wasn't allowed to have anything to eat or drink for 4 hrs before they were to start the cervadil (spelling ?). So as I walked in I had a big glass of water and they didn't even check my cervix to see if I was dialated at all until 9:30pm. The told me I was just starting to open (a fingertip). So they put the cervadil in and I had to lie down for 2 hrs without getting up. Well an hr and half later I felt a really bad pain under my right shoulder blade and then I felt a pop and a gush of fluid. My water broke around 11pm and I started to have contraction on my own around 2am. By 5 am I was 3 cm dialated and an hr later I was at 5cm. They thought I was moving quickly so they rushed me up to labor and delivery and got everything ready for his arrival, however once I was moved up to labor and delivery from the ante partum unit I got an epidural and it really slowed my labor and I stopped dialating and stayed at 5cm. Finally they gave me some pitocin and within an 1hr and half my little Frankie was born. The delivery was a bit rough, the cord was wrapped around his neck and although I was fully dialated he wasn't coming down because he was stuck in the cord. Well there was a room full of doctors and nurses and the doctor had to put her hand up there to free him from the cord while I was pushing. It was a bit crazy and I delivered him on my hands and knees to take the pressure of the cord during contractions and pushing! Well it was all worth it and he is just perfect with the small exception that his days and nights are a bit mixed up! All that worry about downs and not one sign. I am just so happy and so excited for you to hold your little one. Not much longer for you. Are you all ready?
Melissa- Any news?
Nicole- How are you doing?
