Hello there, my FET was done on 6/22/09. I started getting positive HPT's on Saturday, which was 5dpt. We transferred two blasts (one 5-day and one 6-day). My HPT's have gotten darker each day, but last night I had some very light bleeding. It was only visible when I wiped after using the bathroom, and the reddish/pink color turned to brown within a couple of hours and is gone this morning. Do you have any thoughts as to what might have caused this? I did not have any major cramping, but I did have lower back pain; however, the lower back pain has been present since a couple of days following transfer. I'm trying not to worry, but I did not have anything like this in my prior two pregnancies. Of course, we lost both of those pregnancies, so maybe this is a good sign. As always, thanks for your input.

Hi Baylor- I remember you from the Duramed study we were part of....I just happened to come back to the sight because I am thinking of doing a FET and wanted some info. I am so sorry to read about your losses and extremely happy for you to be expecting.
I had a BFP from the study and now have a 6 month old girl. I bled many times during the first 11 weeks- several times as you describe with very minimal when I wiped and also a couple more times when it was quite a bit more and red but never lasting more than a few hours. I did have 2 sonograms to look for the cause when the bleeding was more but they never said exactly why- guessed that my cervix was very "tender" and has increased blood flow and sex caused the bleeding and/or the uterus detached or moved a tiny bit which can be normal and cause some bleeding. once I was at the gym and started to bleed a lot- bled through my undies, shorts, onto car seat, etc. Still no obvious sign of why, but I took it easy after that.
All I can say is try not to worry. I've had bleeding almost every day since my BFP and I'm currently 9 weeks. Early on when I was bleeding, my RE said that over 50% of IVF pregnancies have bleeding. Early on it can be left over implantation bleeding (as they thought mine was). Now my ultrasound shows a partial placenta previa as the probable cause. I know that it's not very comforting to have any spotting. I hate voiding and seeing the blood. Some people bleed through their whole pregnancy. It's always good news if it starts getting lighter or brownish.
