LAtest message from princess noonoo - Nikola

Post by Tracey S »

As her PA (no not p**s artist!) Nikola has asked me if I would kindly post this for you all on her behalf from the Hilton Hospital.

She misses you all and sends her love of course and we miss her don't we?

Hello girls

It’s me again!

I’ve been good this week. I’ve not left my room all week and today is Thursday! I’m hoping my good behaviour will be rewarded to with a home-pass this weekend. I have friends who have offered to come and paint our nursery, so if they let me out I’ll be able to join the party (obviously I will NOT be painting, I will be sat in my rocker supervising….!!)

I know you are all intrigued about my knitting progress (Jules, Dagny & Zoe – I don’t know why you found it so funny!!!) well I have finished the back of one of the jackets. I’m waiting to be shown how to cast off and then I’ll start on the sleeves…..I sit here in my room at night watching tv and knitting away. One night I was still knitting at midnight! Its quite addictive once you get going – Helen you should give it a go. Its really therapeutic once you get going.

Thank you for all your lovely messages!

Traci – thank you for my fabulous parcel. How exciting!!!! You’ll be pleased to know that I have waxed and am now fluff free. I also have amazing smelling hair – just like when you’ve been to the hairdressers and beautifully cleansed skin. I’m so spoilt – thank you sooooooooo much!!!

Helen S – thank you for my lovely nail kit. I’ve had a lovely manicure and now have gorgeous shiny healthy nails. I feel more my normal self. I’m so spoilt and can’t thank you enough. You are sooooo kind and thoughtful.

Traci – I think I’ve found a new vocation – perhaps you should open another salon in Yorkshire and I can run it for you. I got quite into my waxing (not sure I could do someone elses Mary…….but I guess I could try, any volunteers for me to practice on??)

Lisa Ch – why exactly are they keeping me in here?? Is a damn good question that I ask myself every day…..I have grade IV Major Placenta Praevia, which means the placenta is blocking the exit. I had a bleed three weeks ago and the doctors are worried that it could erupt again so want to keep me here under observation until the babies are born. The risk is that if I have another severe bleed – it could be disastrous, not just for the babies but also for me. So I’m on total bed rest until the babies arrive. It just so happens that both the placentas have fused so mine is an even bigger mess than a normal placenta praevia.

I’m 30 weeks and two days now, and am hoping to get to 34 weeks and then a decision will be made whether to go a bit longer or opt for an elective caesarean. The longer I manage to keep them cooking in my tummy, the less time they will need to spend in the SCBU. So I’m trying to be good and do as I’m told (it’s not easy!!)

Funny you should say about your mum wanting Love Actually for Mothers Day – I was given that DVD for Mothers Day (from Arthur and Jeremy!!) and am watching it tonight – can’t wait!

You mentioned about nose bleeds – which is really interesting, because I went through a phase of having nose bleeds and I’ve never had one before. Not big ones, just this feeling of needing to blow my nose and when I did it was bleeding. I think it’s something to do with the blood vessels being more sensitive than normal. I don’t think it’s anything to worry about. My nurses don’t seem too worried and believe me, if it was anything serious they would be on to it straight away!!!!

Keep resting – slow down at work. You don’t want to end up like me!!!

Dawn V – good luck for your scan on 5th! Will be thinking about you. You’ll feel much better once that is out of the way and you can start and tell people. How exciting. AND you can start and buy things – even more exciting!!!! Jane Powertrack are gorgeous!

Sadly I’ve yet to see a dishy male doctor – we don’t seem to have a Dr Kovac or even a Dr Carter………I’m still looking though. Whilst they wouldn’t make a pin-up calendar they are all lovely and are being really nice to me and looking after me.

I miss you all loads – especially my lovely PA - Tracey S!!! What would I do without her? Keep posting girl, you’ve got to post for us both now! Have you started having conversations with yourself yet?? Good luck with your scan (1st April!!) I’ll be waiting to hear all.

The rest of you take it easy girls, remember don’t go overdoing it. Miss you all lots and hope you are all healthy and happy!!

Love Nikola.xxx

Enjoy and replies will be forwarded back

Oh Nik,

You still make me smile when I read you posts. Sorry about the knitting smirking - I'm just trying to pisture you with specs falling down your nose at te same time and my vision is complete :D

Hopefully in the next four weeks, you'll have driven the hospital so mad by then that you have no choice about the c-section - mind you, you are right, and the longer you can go, the better it is. Having to go up & down to neonatal is hard-going, so lets hope they'll not have to be in for any length of time, if not none at all.

Here's a 'story' - when Sam was in neonatal, triplets came in AND, they were all over 4lb and about Sam's weight (he was 4lb 7) - can you imagine how HUGE she must have been. I don't even think it was fertilty treatment as they had 2 kids already and I think it must have been two eggs, one of which gave identical twins :o !!!!!

Maybe you could start a 'salon' for hospital staff - hey tout it to the TV and get a reality programme going

Love Actually - hope you enjoyed it. I too got it for 'Mother's Day'! (not only that, but a card from the dog and the cat - how sad is that???)

Don't worry about the nose issues - it's really common - I felt like I had a snotty nose all through my pregnancy and still have, but when I blow it, it's burst little blood vessels...OMG, the things we talk about. LOL

Anyway, take care oh Queen of Knitland.
Love Zoe & Sam (who's now a 'whopping' 6lb 5.5oz :D ) xx

Just wanted to say how wonderful it is to hear from you and Sam growing so much - you really must stop having a dig at Nikola - oh well it is funny - sorry N!!!

I had the most horrific nose bleed yesterday - looked worse than Tanya on footballers wives - I was out on my walk and only had one tissue - huge clots - sorry!
Take care

Nikola
Glad you got the parcel ok , have you ever used ESPA it is an aromatherapy product and is fantastic , they have lots in the range , if you can find a salon that does it you should have a facial , absolutly wanderfull thats if they do it right !!!! anyway my week:
Monday
Went to the clinc and had a chat about my new donor , the treatment will cost £4300 YIKES and It is her first ever share cycle but her third IVF cycle , so a bit scarey but at least we know that she responds well to treatment , in the past she has gained 10 eggs , they have told me that she will give me half the batch but if there is an odd one I get that, the worst thing is when she hands over the eggs and they are fertilised she can still call a hult to the whole cycle untill they are actually in me even minuets before , they say the chances of that are very slim so I will try not to panic just yet , I will let you know when the folli scans are etc .

Tuesday
Worked all day till 9pm but Id had a bit of a crap day and we were all feeling it at work dont know why anyway we decided (5 of us ) to get some champagne and just sit in the salon and drink and chill well I went home completely hammerd , you know me!!!!

Thursday
My Dad rang me to give me the results of his ecg and he was crying down the phone all upsett that they said he had angina and had been put on beta blockers and they want him to have an angiograme , well he was probably in shock also upset cause he will have to cancell his holiday noone will insure him !!!

Friday
Today  Half day today and I thought I would just catch up with my posts as you have probably heard Tracey Sharpe is now neck and neck with me and I just cant shake her off she is like a sticky bogey :P

Well you take care now and hopefully you will be allowd out tomorrow

Hi Nikola

Glad to hear you are well and managing the boredom. Glad to hear you are now fluff free and smelling nice.
I hate having to stay in hospital but at least you have your own room with tv and dvd. Keep the knitting up.

Take care and keep those babies cooking.
