Hi. I am new to this board, and I look forward to all of the support. I had my frozen embryo transfer yesterday, March 25. My doctor transferred 4 embryos. In December I had a failed ICSI due to very high estrogen levels taken the day after the hsg shot. I am also testing on April 5. I am in bed for 48 hours after the transfer, only up to go to the bathroom, then 5 days of light activity. The 2ww must be the hardest part. Good luck to everyone!

Good luck - awful the 2ww - just grit those teeth......... Denise - 4 put in - OMG!!!!!!!!!!!! They would not allow that in this country - you are hard pushed for 3 and the ruling is now 2 for the under 40's.

ttc 9 years. 38 yrs old, dh 8 hrs younger!First IVF in Aug 2002 and had ectopic.2nd IVF neg.3rd FET and negative.4th FET and positive but sadly lost our little boy at 20 weeks.5th FET and Alice Isobel and Emily Charlotte born 5th Aug 2004!

Is it due to risking the health of the mother and child that you cannot transfer more than two embryos under the age of 40? It's amazing what happens or is allowed in other countries and it is good to learn about that. In December my doctor transferred three great quality embryos, but due to the very high estrogen levels, unfortunately this did not work. Yesterday, he transferred day three cleavage embryos. I asked the quality of these and he said one was a 3 (which was very good) and three were 2s (which he said were ok for being frozen). I do not know a lot about the stage or cells that he was talking about. I need to look into that more.

back again should test 8 april this is when af is due. do not hold out much hope as only got one di as other samples were not good enough.
well you never know one di might have been enough...

been in tmt for 4 years.Male factor. Have had 3 icsi, one ivf with donor sperm.Went for fet with 7 eggs but none made it to blastocyst. just had 5 DI. test date 27 july

To answer your question this has been an ongoing thing in the Uk for a while - years ago when IVF first came about then the more the merrier but then they did not know what they know now.
One reason is that the success rates are so good now - often 50% that they do not have to put in as many - these are generally speaking with two. The main thing is the HFEA stepped in as there were and still are so many multiple births and this in itself brings complications with the mother and babies and the health issues associated with these multiple births - ie they can have an increased chance of defects and the fact so many are born early has been costing our health service loads and loads of money ( we will ignore the amount of money we spend on defence and war in this country and this will set me off)
The ruling is now two - it has been muted and still is to in the future look at one only! I think Denmark it is do one and have no noticable difference in success rates!

Thanks so much. Your support really means a lot. Everyone is pulling for me. The lit candle brought a tear to my eye!
Today was the third of fifth day of light activity that my doctor suggested after the 48 hours of complete bed rest after FET. I decided to go to school for half day (I teach fifth grade and we were testing in the morning) as I would not need to stand on my feet as my students are taking standardized tests and I would sit down. When I got to school my principal told me to go home - immediately - and stay off my feet. They pulled another teacher to do the testing for me so I left. They told me to stay home until Friday. The last time I did ICSI, I took the 48 hours of complete bed rest and took the following week off from teaching. (That didn't help.) This time I thought by only going in for a half day and sitting for the majority of it, that it would be OK.
My staff is so concerned and really want me to rest, but staying home is sometimes more stressful. The constant thinking, etc. The kids I teach get my mind off the 2ww. I have a call into my doctor to see what he says, but in the meantime, I'll ask all the girls who have been through it.
