Tara, so sorry to hear about your father. :( I'll pray for him!

I had my procedure this morning. It was a little more complicated than I thought. Silly me thought it would be like a pap smear, get a shot to numb the area and get few stitches...NOT! I had to get an epidural and get completely numbed from the waist down. I got some bad news just before we started. I had actually dialate a few mm...yikes! The actually stitch only took about 5 mins but they had a time getting my cervix in a good position. First they filled my bladder using catheter, then drained it when it didn't help, then used a catheter through my cervix with a little balloon to push the membrane out of the way...I felt like an experiment, lol. In the end with prep and recovery I was there for 7 hours. I'm at home now with some good drugs :D . I do have to stay out of work until the babies arrive but on modified bed rest still...don't think I can complain too much about that at this point. Babies still look good and are growing fast and healthy! :D :D

Thanks for all your prayers and being there for me to vent ladies! Sorry I've been kind of self-absorbed lately and only talking about myself :P

Tara - Sorry about your father. Pray a lot, you Know God perform big miracles, and your father could be the next on the list of miracles if we pray enough. I know many people cure of cancer by God hands.

Cynthia - I am happy to know all this cerclage procedure was done on time and you and your babies are good and relaxing now. Let your DH pamper you. Don't worry, vent here all you need, that's why we are here, to listen to each other, laugh and cry together. I feel like I know all of you personally.

AFM - Everything is fine. A few nights ago I felt a lot of pressure and a sharp pain in a side that comes for a few sec and go. I couldn't sleep all night but the next day everything was fine. I am a littler short of breath that worry me, I have an app the 20 so will ask.

Are you girls getting big? I am huge. Everybody tell me I look more than 16 weeks, Maybe is because of the myoma. Had to by a lot of maternity cloth because none of mine fit anymore.

Ladies, have a great weekend!!!!

Sari I've definitely gotten bigger! It's not showing on the scale much yet but my belly is out there. I bought some new briefs from motherhood. They are the granny panties of all granny panties, lol, but so comfy. Anyway, I ran out because they were all in the hamper and put on some older ones that I was just wearing 2 weeks ago. They barely covered my butt!! I was shocked. I don't mind though. I enjoy my big belly :D

Aww Tara! That's so exciting!! DH is always asking me if I've felt anything. I told him that hopefully it will come between 18 & 20 wks. I'll be 18 weeks this Thursday :)

Nothing new really on my end. Oh, sleep has become hard again. Before I bought a bunch of pillows and found what works. Now the issue is that I lay on my left side and wake up after a couple hours with this throbbing pain in my left hip/butt!! So then I roll over to my right side (which is a task with all the pillows) and the same thing happens there after awhile. I even cheated an laid on my back for a few minutes to try to get a little relief and my lower back started hurting....ugghhh! And I'm supposed to be on modified bed rest so not getting comfy is not good.

Other than that, just waiting for my level 2 appt this Wed and they will also see how my cervix and cerclage is doing. If I can make it through this appt with no new issues I might do cartwheels done the halls of the clinic!! :P

Who else has appts this week??

Tara - I have been feeling movements for a couple weeks now. It feels like bubbles to me. Whenever I sneeze, they kick me. lol

Cynthia - I've been having the same sleep issues for awhile now. My hip is so sore. I too have cheated and layed on my back for a few minutes. Over the weekend, I got a sunburn so that is not helping either. I hope your appointment goes good this week.

AFM - I just got home from my anatomy scan and everything looks good. I am definitely having one girl and they are 99% sure the other is a boy! The cord is really close to that area but pretty sure it's a boy. Baby A (the girl) measures right on time and weights 10 oz. Baby B (the boy) measures a week behind and weighs 8 oz.

Hello:

Just need to ask, what's the problem with sleeping on your back. I've been sleeping changing positions from one side to my back to the other side, otherwise mi back kills me.

Cynthia - I am happy to know you are feeling better.

Aims and Tara - I felt movements too, like little bubbles, its just cute.

AFM - I received the Alpha-fetoprotein lab results, thats the one that says if the baby has down syndrome, spina bifida, etc. All was negative, thank God. I have app on Monday and Wednesday, I've been dealing with my allergies but aside that everything is fine.

sleeping on back

Post by Tara2009 »

Sari: You should avoid sleeping on back as much as possible. It puts the whole weight of your uterus on your spine, back muscles, intestine and one of the veins also which is not good. Thats what I read and heard.

aims: A boy and a girl! Wonderful!

My anatomy scan is next Tuesday. I am biting my nails :-)

Tara.

Congratulations aims!!! A boy and girl is awesome! I know it's just want WE wanted

sari, I heard everything Tara heard about sleeping on my back. They say it cuts off circulation in that vein that's carrying blood to the baby. I don't think it's a big deal if you occasionally roll onto your back. Only if you're lying on your back constantly for most of the night. Glad to hear all of your test came back negative!!

Rosario, I've seen you around girl...welcome! And congrats on your triplets!!! I've stalked the Oct/Nov '09 boards since I'm thinking I'm delivery early too. It's so many people to keep up with though I just stuck with the few ladies I can remember in December

Am I the only one not feeling movement???!!!! I am so jealous of you all :( . I've been so crampy, sore, constipated and gassy since my cerclage procedure that I've probably missed some movements . I can't WAIT to go to my appt in the morning. If they tell me everything looks good it will be the first time I can relax in almost a month!!

Hi Ladies, wow its been busy here while I was gone :D :D

cymplicity27- I'm so glad your procedure went well and that the babies are doing great. Don't worry about not feeling movements I heard the usual is 20 weeks. Some women feel movement but mistake it for gas. I'm sure you'll feel your babies in no time!

Rosario- welcome! congrats on your triplets! thats awesome, wishing you a healthy pregnancy

Tara2009- good luck on your scan next week. I'm going in this thursday for regular check up and hopefully I'll get my big scan sometime in 2 weeks.

Sari- so happy that your results came back negative ! as far as for sleeping on your back my doc told me its only when you'r bigger then it can affect the breathing and stuff like that but she said that for now the baby is not that heavy so its not dangerous yet but they like you to get use to sleeping on your side for later when the baby gets bigger.

aims327- congrats on boy and a girl!!!! thats awesome you must be thrilled, I'm so happy for you :D

AFM- my tummy is getting bigger each week, although i dont think I've gained any weight but we'll see on thursday. I can't wait to see my baby in couple of weeks! anyone doing the 3d/4d scan? I'm going to do a private one when i'm 24/26 weeks. I also feel movements although they are very scattered like I feel a lot in one day and next day almost nothing. It feels like someone is poking me form inside out :D

Hey everyone, just crashing again...

dys- so glad to hear all is well. I had one of those 3d/4d u/s done at a tiny perspective here in ct. It was awesome, and a last minute decision on our part. We were about 35 wks pregnant and it had been so long since we had an u/s and just couldn't wait another 5 weeks! It was a good thing we did it because that is how we found out she was breech and I needed a c-sec. And we could see that Ella looked like dad! We got a dvd of it and I had wished we had gone earlier so we could have done the package with 2 u/s's in it. But I wanted to let you know that CT recently banned elective, non medical u/s's. The law went into affect July 1st, and in order to get them, you need a dr's note, so I hope your dr will allow it.

cymplicity-it took a long time for me to feel my baby move. I thought I would feel little things here and there, but it was not until well after 20 wks, closer to 30 wks that I really started feeling it.

sari- everyone is right about back sleeping, it's when the baby gets heavy that it can affect some of your organs and spine, breathing and circulation. I think there is also a specific side they reccomend, but I can't remember which. It really isn't a concern until your bigger, but it makes sense to try and get use to a new position before you have no choice and are so big that it is uncomfortable...I had one of those body pillows, and it was awesome.

rosario- glad you are on this thread, since I am already watching this one and I was keeping my eye out for you and your 3 little beans!

Hey Michele!

How was your brothers wedding? I'm guessing you'r back :D

I know about the ban, i think its so stupid that they did that, we should have a choice to do it or not. If my doctor won't allow it i might do one in westchester, ny I dont think there's a ban in NY for those , and its only like a 35 minute drive from my house to westchester. I want to do one around my bday I know they say its better to do it around 24-32 weeks.

Just popping in to say that my anatomy scan went well! Babies look great although they want me back in 2 weeks to do some more measurements when they are a little bigger. I wondered why they scheduled it so early anyway  My cervix looked good! Well good from where it was last week. Before the cerclage it was down to .59cm, today it as 1.5 :D :D I didn't particularly like the staff. They aren't nearly as personable as the clinic I go to (my clinic sends you over to specialist for the anatomy scan). We had to dig for details because all they would say was things looked good. I didn't really get any measurements or anything! I have an appt with my OB next week though and will get another u/s so I'll get the info then.

For now I can breath a little! :D

Sorry I haven't been posting- I haven't been getting the email notifications :( Anywhoooo: Cynthia: YAY! for all of the positive progress, it is wonderful to hear! Don't worry about the movement- I'm sure they're wiggling, you just are probably thinking it's gas/bowels :)

and Dys: :) congrats on the B/G!!!

And welcome Rosario!

AFM:It is a very active little one, very much like my little guy who will be 7 in October. I'm thinking it's a boy, but we aren't finding out, in fact, the u/s was yesterday and everything looks perfect :) whew.
