Countdown

Post by TrueBeliever »

Good Morning Ladies... I am short on time today so this post will be pretty quick. I had my mid cycle appt yesterday and everything seems to still be on track. I start my progesterone tonight and I have my next appt Tuesday, and if everything is still well will have FET on Wednesday.. SO exciting, I am ready to join all the PUPO people on the thread. I still have the fear of my embie not surviving, but we will cross that bridge if and when we get there. I am trying to stay optimistic and hope for the best.

I hope everyone is doing well. I am so happy to see the news of all the healthy embryos and especially of the ones that have stuck,.. CONGRATS to everyone.

Well ladies I'm back from hospital feeling a little sore!

Out of 23 follies they retrieved 17 eggs! yeahhhhh They left a few in as I started bleeding quite a bit and was in a lot of pain. The nurse said they were the smallest ones and didn't want to risk taking them out and putting me through more pain.

Losing a bit of blood now, but it's starting to ease off a little bit. I'm laid on sofa with DH fussing around me, so it's not all bad! :D

The best news was that DH's sperm count had gone from 2.8million last year to............46.8million!! We are SOOOO pleased! DH turned 30 in January and we decided from then to stop drinking alcohol and be super healthy. And 6 months no drinking has definitely paid off! I'm so proud of my DH! :D

Of course he's having a well deserved beer tonight! Me on the other hand will have a nice glass of coke! lol

We've got to wait until Monday to see how the eggs progress. The embrologist said because DH's sperm count has got so high that she will put 7 eggs for normal IVF and the other 10 eggs will be ICSI.

I really feel positive this time. I've got 17 eggs and DH's sperm count has risen, I'm so pleased and proud of ourselves! :)

Also the follies had calmed down and the nurse didn't seem to think I'd OHSS - so even better!

Depending on how my eggs have done I could be having ET on Monday or Wednesday.

Ange - good news about your eggs. Well done x Keep resting until ET on Wednesday - looks like I could be joining you on Wednesday with ET!

KayCe - sending lots of sticky baby dust thoughts to you! x

TrueBeliever - fingers crossed for FET on Wednesday x

OMG! So much going on!! So exciting!! I know that I am going to miss some people, but here goes trying!

Michele- Please drink for me at wedding. I so miss my wine. Have a great time!

Chris- ER today?! You have to keep saying 'it only takes one.' I know that you will do great. You have been so great for all of us, I am certainly pulling for you today.

Katie99- Yeah, patience is not one of my virtues anymore either...I called the RE and 'showed out' about U/S not being until August. They wouldn't release me to OB/GYN, and insurance would not pay for me being under care of both. So---after letting RE's coordinator know how I felt, I am in July 21st for scan!! WooHoo. The reason they had me in August was because next week is when the 'New Group for August' starts coming in. I couldn't believe the total disregard for after-care. I spoke with a friend of mine for my cycle and her date got moved up as well. I guess squeaky wheel won this time. I have just been frustrated through this process because I feel like we have to manage so much of the process. You would think for the $$ that we pay, they would be more customer focused.

Rosario- Glad OB went well. I joined a new practice and really hope it goes well. My first appointment with them is week after U/S. It makes it sooo much more enjoyable when you like the doc.

KayCe- Remember I was a 6-celled B minus embie. Relax, be positive. My favorite chant was, 'where you place your will, there you will achieve.' And I stayed in bed for 4 days. Let DH do everything!! Good luck!!

Sabi- I am so sorry that you have nausea!! That stinks. I have not had it really. A couple of dizzy spells, but they seem to be when I don't eat! Hang in there, hopefully it will fade as your body gets accustomed to hormones.

Vicky- WOW!! You guys are awesome! I wish my DH would have tried a little harder with his count, but water under the bridge now. I am so happy for both of you!! Great job.

Angie- Awesome numbers!! You go girl! Sorry about pain, just take it easy.

TrueBeliever- Great news!! Good luck on Wednesday! Let us know how it goes.

Debbie- End of stims is the absolute worse I felt the whole time. My RE compares it as your ovaries going from the size of ALMONDS to the size of GRAPEFRUITS. That is huge and very uncomfortable. I felt 200% better almost as soon as my ER was over. Drink fluids. Hopefully your 'low hanging fruit' will have lots of berries and you will feel better.

AFM- DH is going out of town for a week. I hate doing PIO myself, may drive to my parents each night. So excited for my U/S on the 21st. I hope to relax then and start to enjoy being pregnant. I am fairly crampy down low on both sides and so tired in the afternoon!

Hope everyone is doing well. Have a great weekend!

daisy - GO SQUEAKY!! I'm so glad that you got them to listen to you. Now we just have to wait til the 21st! Sooooo excited to hear your news! You have inspired a lot of us on here. You have proven it for all of us - come on, say it with me now "it only takes one"! And I totally agree with you about how much you have to manage your own care. I seem to have issues with the nurses not the RE ( remember them mislabeling my b/w & then changing my dosage based on someone else's b/w? ) That was fun. I'm still waiting for the partial refund for my cancelled cycle. You have to prepay for anesthesia, hespan & b/w for the ER / ET twice she has told me she will get to it. Its been a month now! If we didnt prepay for 3 cycles I do think we would have switched clinics. HUGS!!! & PATIENCE!!

Just a quick post from me - sorry I have been MIA

Beta on 7 July was only 19 at 14dpo, another today at 18dpo was only 45. So chemical for me. I have been bleeding since last week but no pains. Clinic warned me about possibility of eptopic.

Big ++++ to all those 2ww.

Hello everyone. I hope it's still ok that I join this thread. I'm totally new to all of this so please forgive me if I seem lost :) (or don't type with all of the abbreviations- I still have ahard time remembering what each of them mean!)
I am currently going through my first round of IVF.
My husband and I have been married almost 6 years and TTC the entire time! After 5 years with no luck we finally started trying to find some answers. I have had a succesful pregnancy and have a 7 year old daughter. After all of the tests we found out that my husband has a very low count, low motility, and low morphology. We were refered to our current dr. and here we are :)
I started follistem and menapur today and go back for bloodwork on monday/wed./fri of next week with a possible retrieval the 20th. My dr. does 5 day transfers.....so that's where we sit right now.
I just thought it would do me some good to join a message board with others going through this as well. I feel incredibly lost to be honest- and very alone. My husband is wonderful but I don't think he quite grasps what this is like from my point, injecting myself with medications all the time- feeling sick/tired/headache/etc. It's all going to be sooo worth it, but it's hard when no one else in your life really knows whats going on with you.

Wicked - Glad to hear from you. I am so, so sorry. I really wish this had been your time. Don't lose faith. Can they figure out if it was ectopic? My heart is broken for you, hang in there. If you need anything, let us know. xxxxxoooo

Katie99- Yeah, your whole BW mix up would not have gone over well here either. We have two RE offices close to one another here and we heard mixed reviews about both. Therefore, we only signed up for single cycle in case we wanted to switch. Don't ask for refund in person or phone anymore - do it in writing. Email her or send a letter. Email will get them jumping, promise. If you don't have her address, call and ask receptionist for it. That is a very reasonable request.

lw - Welcome! You will love this board. We are all pulling for you. DH's can be somewhat detached. When you can, have him do your shots for you. I think that made my DH feel much more involved. Good luck! Keep us posted on how its going.

Thanks for the welcome! He hates shots and has a really weird thing about stomachs so all those subcutaneous shots are up to me :) I'm sure it will get better.

Hope you all will forgive me for not being quite up to speed. I've ready quite a bit but 50 some pages is a lot of info and a lot of people to keep straight!!
Hope all is going well for all of you!

I am new also, have been reading along but not commenting since I never know just what to say. I am at the end of my cycle, getting my first blood test on Monday. Yesterday morning I took an HPT and got a faint positive, the product hot line said that is infact a posiive. My HCG trigger was two weeks bfore and my ET was 5 days before. This wait seems forever. I am going to take another HPT tomorrow morning to hopefully rule out any HCG left over from the shot. Anyone with siilar experience?
