After waiting to start my treatment,as clinic had shut down and they were building a new one site clinic(Chaylebeate Southampton) was told to ring on my next cycle, but had trouble on my last cycle so didn't really count it as a bleed,so I waited for this one to arrive thinking I am going to book a day 19 appointment today.Well I was told they can't fit me in as it coincides with Easter they have no spaces!!!!!!! I thought I was paying for this treatment and they fit it in around you obviously I was wrong.
But I expect the way my periods have been going I will not have a normal one next time so that will be another month gone.I explained all about my funny periods to them,no we can't fit you in wait until your next one.Well my fingers are typing ten to the dozen and I have smoke coming out of my ears and I am furious,Sorry to harp on I just needed to let off some steam!!!!!!!!!

this is so unfair when this happens the waiting is so bad. If you are anything like me I plan the whole tmt and when you are put of another month it really winds you up.
I have had so many things go wrong with this ivf lark that I try and take one day at a time but I know how hard it is.
Just wanted you to know that I know how you feel and you are not alone.
I bet when sarah reads your post she will have something to say as the same thing happened to her not so long ago.
take care
july ann
been in tmt for 4 years.Male factor. Have had 3 icsi, one ivf with donor sperm.Went for fet with 7 eggs but none made it to blastocyst. just had 5 DI. test date 27 july
Oh you must be so angry. SarahBrown did have the same thing happen to her at Southampton as well.
I was furious when I couldn't get a appointment with the consultant for 6 weeks after my failed ivf. I couldn't believe they can just keep you hanging on.
I am a big believer in writing a formal complaint. These have to get actioned and will go to the right person. If it doesn't help you this time it might help someone else in the future.
I hope a positive comes out of this for you. More time to eat lots of protein, more time for acupuncture??????
But I dont blame you for being angry ... I just dont understand Southampton clinic .... they obviously dont warn patients about this.
As I said above this may be fate and you will get a big fat positive when you do cycle.
Good Luck

Aged 32. 1st ivf failed March 04. Going to try again with my frosties.
Have a scruffy dog called Tobye.
Its a total load of Bollocks(sorry Marcus) isnt it........
I know exactly how you feel..........I too had steam coming out of my ears when I tried to get booked in..........Luckily I swung it but I guess with Easter etc they wont budge this month......
My AF has arrived today so have to phone for a day 4 blood test....I have worked out roughly my ET will be Easterish.....If I get any problems I will commit a crime!!
One thing I would say is when you have calmed down a bit give them another call and ask that they note on their records you have tried to book in so hopefully you will get priority next time.........
I agree with Jane re writing in to complain but I must admit I did not......its the only clinic I can attend at the moment and did not want to rock the boat........
Try and relax(easier said than done)
After we have had our succesfful tmt eventually we could always take a leaf out of Footballers wives and buy a voodoo doll!!(only joking)
dear all
Thanks for your replys have calmed down a bit now still very annoyed that I can't cycle this month, but then maybe all things happen for a reason.Lets hope i have a proper bleed next month and it is on time so that I am not waiting around much longer and at least then I can have some easter eggs!!!!! some small compensation.
Thanks
Jane

just read your posting and I agree that Southampton are not very flexible. I tried to get some appointments for blood tests and then would only do certain ones at certain times which would mean going back and forth just to get blood taken. I just hope we can all manage to fit in next month!
By the way where is the carpark at this new building - I parked on the road when I went. Is it supposed to be the 5 or 6 spaces at the front?
There is no car park!! The spaces at the front are for people having EC/ET etc........
We used the big public car park behind the pub just as you enter Anglesea rd......
I was not impressed with where the main entrance is situated.....Right in full view of the main road....not very discreet...
The day I had my appt my cousin drove by as we were going in......we had not told her we were doing tmt........
I know what you mean about the entrance - I couldn't believe they have actually have signs up to annouce it is the infertility clinic. At least with the BUPA place you could have been going in with any sort of illness, now everyone knows your "illness".
I am glad at least there is public parking somewhere close by though!
