Hi Ladies-

KatieG- great decision! I think you will feel better through the process once are settled in your new home.

cheekyone
- my dad surprise party was a blast!! he was sooooo surprised, thanks for asking. Thanks for the PMA. Knowing someone that has gone through a successful FET make me feel very encourged.

dogzrule
-- I'm happy to know that all is growing nicely!

Kayce- Thanks for the PMA. I really do beleive that this time is going to work for me and I'm going to trust the knowledge of my RE that was given from GOD and let him make the decision.

GI- I agree, buy the kit. Last year I was waiting for AF to show us so that I could start my FET but she never came I POAS and got a BFP! Eventhough it was short lived I beleive that sometimes it can happen when you least expect.

AFM- I'm starting my Lupron shots tonight :) nervous and excited at the same time.

Hope everyone else is doing great and lots of baby dust and prayers your way!!

Things still growing nicely. However, I feel like big poo. I hate the side effects of the stims and feel so horrible. I just want to crawl into a ball and hide and cry. Having a bit of a bad day but knowing tomorrow will be better (I have what SHOULD be my final sono and my pre-op tomorrow morning. If all is pleasing to my doctor, I'll trigger tomorrow evening.).

tangela - enjoy the beginning of your lupron shots!

fitzjr - your cycle should be well over with a BFP by the start of school! :D

teachertam - hang in there! Soon it'll be second nature to stab yourself with multiple needles every day!

Hello,

I will say lots of blessings for all...

dogzrulle - Is that just part of the meds to feel so awful. Are you able to work while on them? I am so glad everything is going well for you! Keep up the great work and stay positive, I know you will do great.

teachertam - I felt the same way looking at my box of meds, that this just isn't natural but a good friend of mine has two sets of twins. Both were acheived from fresh cycles (she tried with frozen but it didn't work for her), so I know it will be worth it!

cheekyone - thank you for the warm welcome!

Question - are we to resume normal activities after ET? I'd like to go snorkeling but am afraid, we have a vacation planned 3 weeks after ET.

Also, has anyone tried or is planning on freezing too?

Best wishes,

Cressy

Me - 33
DH - 40 (high number of sperm with morphology issues so we are doing ICSI)
TTC - 3yrs
Clomid - BFN
Insementation twice - BFN

One more question - Is Lupron easy? Any strange things you experience?

Yes cressicaw, what I'm feeling is from the meds. It helps mentally to know that, but still. :( Since I'm a teacher, I'm off for the summer. I could never do this during the school year (I would have liked to think so, but now that I'm going through it, I know I never could). I'm just so thankful I have the whole summer to get my BFP! :D My understanding is you can resume NORMAL activities a couple of weeks after ET, but I think others on here might be able to answer that better than me. We will freeze extra embies if we have them.

Lupron injections were SUPER easy. I did suffer horrible headaches the 1st couple of days, but one excedrin took care of that, and after a couple of days, I was all better. :D

I don't recall having any side effects with Lupron or any of my shots when I went through my fresh cycle. The only thing was I gained a little weight in the stomach area :x

Dogzrule- I know you'll feel better tomorrow, its okay to have these days and I beleive it healthy. Bottling up feeling for days can be bad, especially for people around you (DH) Sending lots of positive thoughts your way

Cress- I think it should be okay to swim 3 weeks after ET. It may be better to ask your RE what he recommendeds. I was told to resume normal activies with the exception of lifting heavy objects and avoiding hot tubs, or anything that will make your internal temperature rise.

Hi Ladies. Really difficult to keep up with all the posts.

Cress: welcome and yes u should be able to resume normal acitivities a couple of days after ET and snorkeling should be ok but no diving for sure. Check with your RE though as everyone's case is different.

Dogzrule: good luck tomorrow.

katieG - i think u made the best decision considered.

Tangela - Good luck with the shots!

Cheeky - mine may be friday as well. i go back tomorrow for my 3rd u/s b/w but they have increased my follistim dose to the maximum as my E2 levels were not climbing high enough. Keeping my fingers cross that everything is normal tomorrow. Getting bad headaches today i think from the high dosage. I have never been on the max before. Doing lots of power dance for us.

Hi girls,

It has been busy here!! I think i should log on over wkends as it took me ages to catchup.

Cheekyone: there are lots of diff. views on intercourse after ET but i was told not to as orgasm can cause uterus to contract we were to leave it till after our BFP scan - maybe you should ask ghost. Friday is nearly here!!

Cressicaw: i was told to take it easy for few wks after transfer esp if bfp.

Tangela: Kayce is right if you get 2 good embies you have great chance of twins, triplets have a higher risk.

Kayce: how is the 2WW?? Are you tempted to poas early?? Thanks, i bought the ovualation kit with a free pregnancy test inside - hows that for PMA! Sending you lots of sticky baby dust xx

Dogzrule: Hope you are feeling better, i usually feel like crap when on meds but it is sooo worth it. My journey is 2 hrs Each way!!! And thats a pain when you are just getting a 5 min scan - the joys of it all!

Fitzfrill: its great you have the month off to do it, i have done all my 5 attempts during work and i dont think my boss is too happy - though i dont take too much time off. This time (fingers crossed) my FET is during my 2 wk holidays so he wont know i am doing it, when i got my BFP in April he organised my maternity cover that day!! I was upset because i didnt want to jinx it, he isnt very understanding and when i lost my baby i came back to work 2 days later and he never even asked how i was, so this time i wont tell him i am pregnant till i am really showing - thats if i get a bfp!!

Katieg: glad you feel good about your decision, moving is stressful enough as it is and you def. dont want to be stressed.

C_T Michelle how was the wedding??

Hi to all i have missed - have a great monday

Chessy & Dogzrule: Thanks for the encouragement regarding the shots. There were not bad at all. I've already done two of them. Just one more tomorrow and I go for my follie scan on Wednesday. If all is fine I will do the trigger shot and then IUI on Friday. This will be my last medicated cycle, so I hope it works.

Tangela: Since you are still "fertility" young (under 35), you do have a greater chance of multiples. I'm over 40 and the odds of me having multiples, using my own eggs, is very slim. I'm hoping to have three mature follicles/eggs with this cycle. I had 3 the last two cycles on femara alone, but they were not all mature. I'm hoping that the gonal-f will mature all follicles. I would be thrilled to have 4 or 5 follicles at my age. I transferred 5 embies during my last fresh cycle. However, only 2 were blasts.

Cheeyone:
Usually they tell you not to have intercourse after ET. I saw a thread where ghost said that the reason is that they don't always get all of the eggs during ER. If you have some eggs left that release on their own, you could have a greater chance of getting pregnant with multiples.

Wow, it seems like there are a lot of teachers on this thread. I teach part time at a local university and did my past treatments during the school year. It is definitely more difficult but can be done. My problem was that I had to drive 1.5 hours both ways to my RE's office. At that time I did not have my 2 year old, so it was not as much of a problem. Now it would be tough.

Hello to everyone that I have missed. I need to get going here, as Andrew will be waking up soon. He has YMCA camp this morning and I have a lot to do before we go.

Take care all,
Tammy

Hi Everyone!

Hi, I'm new to this.... I've been reading the message board for a bit and finally decided it may help me to become active and to learn from those of you who have already gone through this. This is my 1st ivf cycle and started meds two days ago. I am super nervous. I am also a teacher and feel lucky to be off for the summer to even do this. I have to travel four hours out of state w/o DH ( except for a few days) to do this for the next few weeks. It could be just nerves, but so far the meds ( Climara & Ganerilex) don't have any effect except that I'm not hungry and feel a bit nauseous. :? I'm much more nervous about the upcoming meds. I'm new to all of the acronyms you use, so bear with me, I'm learning as I go along. I've read most of your stories and I thank you, best of luck to everyone!

Me: 40- fine
DH: 40- no sperm; had surgery last year (to repair a botched surgery that damaged all tubes), it didn't work but they extracted a lot of frozen!

Cheeky - my RE said that everything is progressing well but could not tell me when ER was going to be. Going back in on Wed again. Am on 450 iu of the gonal-f and 150 menopur. Taking 300 GF in the am and 150 in the pm with the menopur. I hope this works. Feeling a bit relieved also coz i have endo and been worried about two cysts that i have but he said that based on medical journals these cysts should not have any impact on the outcome and they are relatively small. Thanks for crossing everything for me. Doing lots of power dance for u still! 8) Also i was advised not to have intercourse after ET for a while. Ask ghost!

Sunnygirl: welcome.

teachertam: good luck for the scan tomorrow.

Kayce: how are u doing?

hi to all other ladies i missed. i do not have time to post more as have to get back to work before they fire me. these boards are so addictive. Baby dust to all.

Hi ladies -

I hope that you all had a great weekend! We are finally having good weather here (lots of rainy days lately) So I take a peek in the pool which we had drained in the spring, it will sit empty this summer because of schedules + all the ivf expenses. With so much rain lately there is quite a bit of water in the pool now, and its full of tadpoles! now I know that you ladies know what they remind me of  so I say leave them be they'll turn into frogs & hop away soon enough, right? DH says I'm nuts & wants to drain it again. I am taking them as a good luck symbol - so they stay!

babies - yes, the boards are very addicting. its surprising how attached you can get to people that you've never even met. I think of you guys often, though! :D Good luck with your u/s tomorrow!!

tangela - I'm glad that your mock transfer went well. I was opposed to mine until RE explained why they do them. YAY injections? It means that you are on your way!! :D

fitzjr - Glad to hear that your surgery went well :D

dogz - yeah, sometimes the side effects will get to you. Look at the big picture, its so worth it!!

cressica - welcome! I think that we'll be close on the cycle together

katieg - Good decision, you'll be much more relaxed in your new unpacked comfortable house!

kayce -STICKY STICKY thoughts!!!

tammy - fingers crossed for you!! shots are nothing when you get your BFP!!

gi -I know how you feel, its a 2hr drive each way to the clinic for me also :( for a 15 min appt.

sunny - Welcome!

cheeky - YAY ER fri!!! MY RE is real specific on the subject of intercourse after ET - NOT AT ALL! actually you arent supposed to after the trigger until your beta. I think it has to do with risk of infection, thats why you have to take doxycycline (antibiotic) I would love to hear your RE's reasoning on this - xoxo

AFM - I'm only on bcp for 2 weeks more, and looking forward to starting stims on the 30th
