Sono went well this morning, I have 6 mature follies and about 4 or so others that are ALMOST there. I have a sneaking suspicion they might have me do one extra night of injections and push the ER to Thursday. I'll know for sure when my case nurse manager calls this afternoon! My only SLIGHT disappointment was with my lining. It had gone from 4.4 to 6.3 to 7.5 all within a few days, then today it was 7.7. Was really hoping for at least an 8, but I know it's ok.

sunnygirl - WELCOME we are so glad to have you be a part of this thread! I promise you will be just fine. Several of us here are all 1st-timers. :D

cheekyone - Friday will be here before you know it wootwoot! I was told NOT to have sex post ET.

Throwing TONS of baby dust to all you wonderful ladies!

Hi ladies! I am back and it feels good to be home. The wedding was awesome, but exhausting...Ella did not adjust well to hotel life or missing naps. I really wanted to read and keep up with everyone while I was gone, but it was impossible as the schedule was packed with wedding festivities all weekend.

I have not had a chance to catch up on everyone yet, it might take me a couple of days, but I just wanted to post our list and update as much as I can as I read it. If you need something updated, please send me a pm or post to tell me what to do, and that will help me catch up faster. Thanks guys, and I will be back in the swing of things in no time!

Hello,

Wow, we have got so many gals... I can hardly keep up. It is very nice to have so many great stories to read. I am learning a ton.

Dogzrule - Is there an ideal lining number or range? Do any of the meds affect it? How exciting about the follies... how many embyos are you allowed to transfer? Also, I read someone post about the left over follies and the doctors asking us to restrain from sex... will go ahead an do it anyway in hopes of another egg being released?

Katie99 - where are you at in the schedule?

Sunnygirl27 - Good luck... this is my first IVF cycle too! Are you doing ICSI too?

teachertam - was you son conceived through IVF too?

Lots and Lots of prayers for all...

Me - 33
DH - 40 (high number of sperm with morphology issues so we are doing ICSI)
TTC - 3yrs
Clomid - BFN
Insementation twice - BFN
1st IVF - July/August
ER - August 6th

Babiesgalore and Katie99: Thanks for the encouragement.

Cressica: No, my 2 year old son was conceived NATURALLY while waiting to do a frozen cycle. I had an HSG x-ray procedure and got pregnant naturally at 42. There is hope out there for everyone!!!!!
One reason that I'm not doing IVF, is that it did not seem to work for me
and it becomes very expensive when you have to pay 100% of everything. Unfortunately, we live in a state that does not mandate insurance coverage for infertility treatments.

Take care all,
Tammy

WOOHOOOOOOOOOOOO ER set for Wednesday ladies!!! I trigger at 8:45 tonight and am SO nervous. Is there any pain I should expect or anything to be aware of?

CT Michele - Welcome back!!! My stim start was July 2 and ER is this Wednesday, July 15. That puts 3 day ET on July 18 (my 11th wedding anniversary!!!) or 5 day on July 20, which also is a VERY significant day in my life. Talk about the Lord restoring what the locusts have taken!!!

cressicaw - I think the ideal range for uterine lining is greater than 6 but less than 14. My doctor likes to see an 8, but apparently my 7.7 was perfect enough! The stims you are taking also affect the lining, so everything is being taken care of with all those injections. As for ET, I am only allowing them to do 2 (which at my age they would not have done more than that anyway) because I chose not to have a reduction. :D

Hi everybody!

I just got my schedule and thay did change my protocol. Now we are back to micro flair. Last week the nurse said it wasnt going to change :? I think sometimes they answer questions without pulling my chart :x on a high note they bumped me up a day :D Hooray - I guess tomorrow I get to spend another small fortune on Bravelle, thank God I'm pretty sure I already have everything else.

dogz - I'm sure that your lining will increase a little more. Dont get all stressed over it. :D

cressica - It looks like I'm a few days behind you. ER week of aug 10 - my cycle buddy :D

tammy - I'm with you, sister - its so hard being self pay. Dont even get me started on how I feel about health ins. that wont touch IVF
I swear, i'm afraid to add it all up

michele -I feel like I"M being a little redundant but I guess that happens when on 2 threads. sorry. now start stims july 29th with ER / ET the week of Aug 10 - thanks for keeping the lists for us!

Hello Ladies!!! I can see you've been very busy!!! I've enjoyed so much reading all the new posts tons of PMA flowing!!!! I'm trying to be patient on this 2ww but this time around hasn't been easy. I'm not sure if it's pressure for a BFP, or the meds or what!!! It has been sooo hard this past few days and I really hope this doesn't hurt my chances on a BFP. I really don't know what to think since on my past 2ww I've always been super relaxed and even happy, but still 2 BFN and 1 BFP... so who knows???

KatieG I think that is a very smart solution!!! You get to do everything but not everything at the same time!!! GL with the moving, I find it kind of relaxing when I get to throw away all the trash we've been accumulating. You'll have a new house and new baby this year!!! Great!!!

Katie99 I'm with you on the redundant part!!! LOL.. I posted on the other thread so you can read your personal!!!

dogz I'm so exited for you!!! You'll do great you'll see!!! ER has never been hard for me. It's just anesthesia and go to sleep when you wake up sometimes you are crampy sometimes you are ok, but usually pain goes away with some tylenol. Just take it easy afterwards and that's it!!! Keep us posted.

Cressicaw You'll soon catch up with everybody!!! It gets so personal and you get to know everybody so much that it feels like longtime friends. But this friends totally know and understand what you are feeling!!!

Cheeky I've heard about the intercourse after ET but my clinic actually does the opposite, they say no intercourse and specially no big Os until Beta. But trust your RE or maybe ask them why. I'm exited for you too!!! Friday is almost here. GL

Gi Wow love that PMA girl!!! I'm not sure if I should POAS!!!! its driving me crazy... I think that I just don't want a BFN... no matter where I get it. So I'm still having second thoughts!!!! I've done cycles with and without POAS and I'm not sure what I'll do!!!!

Sunny Welcome!!! There is a sticky board on the General Forum for all the abbreviations you can find in here. It helped me a lot when I was just getting started!!! Where are you staying when doing IVF? Good luck with all the meds!!! And you have come to the right place for support, this girls are the best!!!

Babies I'm doing much better now!!! I'm not sure why I've been so negative this time around, but talking to you girls feels so much better!!! GL on the U/S tomorrow. Please let us know how everything is going!!!

To everyone else I forgot, you are all in my thoughts and prayers!!! PMA to all!!

Hugs and Baby dust!!!

Hi Ladies.................I thought that I would post quick to say Hello. This has turned in to a very active board!!!
Dogzrule - Congratulations on your ER being set for Wednesday :D :D It is normal to be nervous but I am sure you'll be fine. The trigger shot is no more painful than the other shots and as far as the ER itself..........I was knocked out and slept off and on for most of the day. I don't recall any discomfort beside the IV which was not bad.
I will be thinking of you, keep us posted!!!

CT_Michele - Welcome back! I am glad to hear that the wedding went well. Thanks for keeping the lists for us too. I will update you when I have the info.

Katie99 - I see you live in NY too! I loved your story about the tadpoles! Way too cute! I think all it has done is rain this summer.

I would like to welcome all the new ladies and thank all of you for your PMA about the Menopur shots!! I went online and watched some videos on how to give myself a shot/mix the Menopur and it is alot less intimidating. I am just waiting for AF to arrive any day now and then off to the clinic a 2 1/2 hour drive one way!

I am sorry that I haven't been able to reply too all of you!! I think of all of you often and wishing you LOTS OF BABY DUST!! :D :D :D

Morning ladies,

The weather is terrible here in Ireland - rain, rain and more rain!!! Got caught in a thunder shower last night walking my little man (west hyland terrior though he doesnt realise he is a dog yet cause he is so spoilt)

dogzrule: How did the trigger go?? I dont mind needles at all though working as a dental nurse helps! Cant wait to hear how many eggs you get lets hope its a bumper crop. Good luck tomorrow, the ER is my favourite part of ivf you just go to sleep and wake up and its all over.

C_Michelle - Welcome back, hope you enjoyed the wedding but you are prob. wreaked from all that travelling. I will get you to put me on the list when AF arrives.

Kayce: How are you bearing up on 2WW? Any symptoms yet, i am the worlds worst on 2ww i feel every twinge i have had 4 BFN and 1BFP and all the symptoms were the same so its hard to tell! When is Beta??

Anissabug: AF never shows when you want her to! Lets hope she arrives shortly.

Teachtam: I really hope you get a sibling for Andrew James (cute name)

Katie99: Ye seem to use different protocols over in there, we just go on the nasal spray for down reg. then 1 injection a day for about 10 days no mixing of meds. Sounds expensive for your meds but please god it will be worth every penny.

Hi to all i have missed i should really go do some work!!

new to IVF but not IF

Post by miyaya »

Good Morning Ladies. I am so excited I found this message board. The message board I currently belong to is great but has very few folks undergoing IVF. I hope its not too late to jump on this thread. It seems like a great group who is very supportive:)

Here is my story:

My name is Nicole and I am 32. I was dxd with PCOS in 2005. Hubby and I TTC#1 for 3 years. After several tests and 6 cycles of Clomid my son was conceived using the magic potion of 150mg of Clomid, 2000mg of Met and HCG trigger. My son is now 15 months old and hubby and I are TTC#2. We did 4 cycles of Clomid again with good response but all BFN. Did a Follistim cycle with 2 good follies and BFN. We are fortunate to have fertility coverage but only have a $20, 000 cap. Thus far with meds, labs and tests we are going through it quickly. So we decided to do IVF while we still have enough money available to us to cycle. Phew.....

Not sure if anyone here is from NE but we are going through Dr. Glatstein at RSC of NE in Lexington. I started BCP last week and will start Lupron down reg in another week or so. We expect Harvest and transfer to be around the 3rd week of August. We have tentatively decided to transfer 2 at day 3 or 1 at day 5 but of course it is all relative. While I really want another baby, my son was really colicky and I am unsure about risking multiples. BUT then again, I really want to maximize my chances.

I hope to get to know you ladies over the next few weeks and hope to hear great news. ~Nicole

Nicole welcome!!! a lot of great ladies here!!! I am too tryingfor number too and I also go to the RSC I see dr. Pang!! I had ET last week and I am on my 2ww. We had 2 embryos on day 3 transfered, I only had 2 good looking embies so they made it a day 3. We'll have a Beta on the 20th. Good Luck on your process and we are here to support you along the way!!!

Gi on my past 2ww I've had both sympthoms and no sympthoms and there I've goten BFP and BFNs, so I really don't trust that anymore, I know is the progesterone playing trick on your body!!!! But I'm not feeling a thing this time!!!

Annisabug I'm doing the AF dance for you!!!! I'm sure you are not looking forward to the long 2 and a half hours driving, but I'm sure they'll be worth it!! Keep us posted!!

AFM I'm feeling kind of down at times, I just hope this sadness doesn't hurt my chances. I've been so positive on my past 2ww (BFNs anyways) I'm not sure what's wrong this time. Maybe all the babies and big bellies around me or maybe the meds. I used to tell myself that 2ww was like vacation since I get to sleep late, not cook or do any house work, get pampered etc... And now I feel just empty. Well, don't listen to me!!! I know I'll get over it as soon as I get my BFP!!! LOL!!! And here goes my question.... TO POAS OR NOT TO POAS???? What do you think??

I've done both and all thought I was going to POAS no matter what, I'm having second thoughts. I'm just too afraid I'll get another BFN and then be so heartbroken again, so I'll just rather wait for the RE's office call. On the other hand I remember my first BFN (did not poas) RE called me at 8 pm himself with the bad news, they kept me waiting and waiting all day!!! I cried for almost a week I think. Maybe its really hard to get a BFN.

Ladies, you make this IVF thing so much easier and I can't thank you enough for listening to me!!!! I have no one else to "talk" about my feelings that it's great to have you all!!!! See?? now I feel sooo much better!!!!

Big hugs and baby Dust to all!!!

Hi again,

Miyaya welcome i am new here to (but not to ivf!!) the girls here are really great and supportive.

Kayce: Your hormones are all over the place from the meds its understandable that you are feeling sad, you rant and rave as much as you want and get it off your chest cause we all know what you are going through and have felt that way at some point. About POAS it is such a personal choice - on my 3rd ivf which was a natrual FET i didnt bother at all! I started spotting around day 8th after transfer and assumed i wasnt pregnant - looking back on it now i was stupid cause some people get implantation bleeding! On my last i did it early cause i assumed i wasnt pregnant and was fed up with waiting - to my shock it was positive, so after so many BFN i am not afraid to poas i know i can handle it. Good luck whatever you decide, only 6 days to Beta!!!xx

AFM j rang me at lunchtime warning me that his sister (who doesnt know about us trying or going thro. ivf) is telling everyone we are pregnant!! Apparently she heard it from someone but she is sworn to secracy - yeah right so you ringing us isnt keeping it a secret!! I am not surprised cause if you have any news to tell people you just need to tell her and word will spread withing the hour! At least it is now and not a few wks ago when i had my d&c or i would prob. lose the plot, j told her she is on the wrong track and that we have no intention of having kids outside of Marriage!!!! He told her we cant afford to get married for a long time so that rules kids out - ha ha i could just imagine her face!! The only reason we are not married is because of the cost of ivf and having a baby is more important than a marriage certificate, we are together since we were both 16 and have our house, dogs x 2 and just waiting for our family. I think that will keep her quiet for a while and we have a family party at the weekend so i will make sure she sees me drinking a glass or 2 of wine!!
Thanks for listening to my little rant.

Michelle - welcome back. We missed u here. Glad the wedding was fun and hope u had a few drinks for all of us. Ella will soon learn to enjoy hotels!

Kayce - really sorry to hear you going thru all these emotional turmoil. Hang in there and keep thinking PMA! Try doing something that works for u - like meditation - walks - music. Sending u lots of sticky dust loads of PMA! Not long to go now

Gi - can't believe that u're partner's sister is going around and telling people that and glad that your partner told her. Good luck at the family dinner and don't let people like that get to u.

Dogzrule - good luck tomorrow

AFM - hanging in there waiting for next u/s tomorrow to see when ER will be. Starting to get uncomfortable now but hopefully that means there are loads of follies growing. Has anyone experienced spotting while on stims (sorry TMI!) Been having some on and off very light spotting since sunday. Hopefully everything is ok! Always something to worry about and then we worry when we do not have any symptons or feel anything. LOL! it never ends!
