I am doing a hawaiian luau for Ella, also at a park, but I think for 4 hours. It is her first birthday, but we are also using it as an excuse to have a big bbq, we have the park for the whole day. I got a lot of cheap decoration at the christmas tree shop and at the oriental trading website. I used a coupon code and got 15% off and free shipping, which is why is pays to plan ahead. I made my own invitations on the computer. I got her a llittle hula skirt and lei, she is going to look soooo cute. I liked the luau idea because it was very summery, and almost any decorations work.

I got the code from www.retailmenot.com. I use that site for coupon codes for everything. Just go there and type oriental trading in the search box and it will bring up codes. I used wcx8202, it was for 15% off and free shipping over orders of $49 or more, but it doesn't say when it expires. There is another code on there for the same exact discount and it says that one expires tonight at midnight, so I wonder if they both end today? I bet they will have others soon though.
I think a jungle theme would be fun! Some of my other choices were jungle, beach, farm, and kittens or puppies.

My little one's first birthday was in October, so I planned the party around his Halloween costume. That way he go to wear it for both events. He was monkey, so we had a jungle theme and a monkey cake. Everyone thought he was adorable in his costume and many got to see him in it that wouldn't have seen him for Halloween.
