September/October Cycling Friends!

Post by wolffie »

I looked for a September thread but didn't see one. Is anyone else planning on a September cycle? I am planning on a FET mid September. My last FET cycle was scheduled for July but was canceled. :(

I am currently on BCP and waiting for me med schedules.

I'd love to hear from you!

I've been looking too! Glad to see I have someone else to sympathize with the WAITING!!!! I had a m/c in June and my RE wanted me to wait for 2 natural cycles to start IVF again (I had no frosties). So, when AF comes @ the end of this month, I will start Lupron 21 days later and then stims. So that will put me with a ET in Sept. How many times have you tried before? We should be pretty close together on our time frame.
me- 31 with no known issues
DH - 38 vasectomy 12 yrs
IVF#1 - 4/20/2009 - BFN
FET 5/20/2009 m/c due to blighted ovum
IVF#2 - 9/23/09. Betas-244, 592, & 3753

So sorry to hear about your m/c.

My story -
I have endo and dh has poor morphology. I had an ectopic pregnancy in June of '07. The ectopic ruptured and I lost one tube. We went straight to IVF. I was very lucky and my first IVF cycle was a BFP! I now have a 13 month old son from that cycle. I have two frosties left over. I planned on a July FET but that cycle was canceled. We then planned for August but I came down with strep right after I started back on BCP so my doc wanted to wait until September so that there wasn't a risk of the cycle being canceled again. So...now I wait.

Will this be your second IVF cycle?

I'm so glad there is someone else to wait with!

Thanks for starting this thread wolffie. Hi Shelby... i was trying to start a Sept thread, but I felt it was a wee bit too early, but I am glad it was not. Well here is my story in a big nutshell.....

I am 32 and DH is 34.... we have been together 15 years. We have a 10 yr old DD natural Conception after 3 years of trying. I had her in 1998.. then got pregnant again naturally in 2000 but also had an Eptoipc Tubal PG and my left tube ruptured so now I only have my right tube. So in 2007 I found out I had PCOS and finally was submitted to a Specialist. My DH has low sperm count which doesnt help either. I had my first failed IVF cycle on Sept. 08 and my 2nd failed IVF cycle in Feb. 2009... I have 1 Frosty :( So I saw my RE 2 weeks ago and I will be put on BCPs with my next AF and FET should be in September... yipee!!! If this fails then I will be changing REs most defo and work with my last 2 fresh cycles. If nothing happens then I guess I will just have to accept the facts... but I have hope.

My comadre gave me a Fertility Buddah last weekend. It was given to her about 12 years ago after 10 years of trying to get PG.. after a couple months she got PG and 2 times more after... so now she has passed the torch to me. I rub the belly every day. Something has got to work.... U think!!!

I really do hope that we will get our BFPs with this FET. I will keep us in my prayers!!!
I am 32 yrs / DH is 34
PCOS/1 tube/ DH low sperm count
1st IVF cycle... Nov 2008 = BFN
2nd IVF cycle...Feb 2009 = BFN
FET... Sept. 2009 = BFN

I actually thought I was going for a September cycle, but looks more like beginning October. I am travelling to visit my family in NY for the Jewish holidays (I am in Israel). Wolffie, looks like we bumped together, and I never saw you on here! My cutie is turning one on August 9. He was my BFP on my second IVF cycle. That whole cycle just went more smoothly than my first. None to freeze, so I'll be doing a fresh cycle in beginning October once I'm back from my trip (please G-d!) Hope I can 'wait' with you guys meanwhile. Getting excited and impatient!

Shari xo

May this thread turn into a bunch o' BFP's and colorful pregnancy tickers!!
Damaged Tubes; 1st IVF- BFN; 2nd IVF-BFP, our precious son :); 3rd IVF stopped due to natural miracle BFP, then mc@8 wks.; 4th IVF: June '11- BFN :( Bring On IVF#4!

Hi -

I would like to join you ladies on the wait. I read, but did not post during my last FET and I really missed the support. My DH tries, but it is not the same as having someone to 'talk' to who has gone through what we go through. It is a great community that we have here!

I just started my BCPs last night and got my kit of medicines - woohoo! It looks like I will have a FET at the end of Sept or so...right around when shelbyrn0214 and wolffie will be trying.

AFM, we have been blessed with a little girl from our first IVF cycle and had 4 5 day embies to freeze. I am 34 and DH is 33. We need to use donor sperm b/c my DH had testicular cancer...so we went right into IUIs without trying to conceive naturally. Our little girl is the center of our lives and we would love to give her a sister or brother.

And so, the waiting/hormone surges/headaches/shots/mood swings begin!
Me: 35
DH: 34 (male infertility due to chemo)

1st IVF - 6/07 BFP!! DD born 1/08
FET 6/09 - 2 5 day embies - BFN
FET 9/09 - 2 5 day embies - BFN
ER/ET May/June '10

YAY! I am excited that there are more of us!

stlgirl - have you decided how many embies you will transfer? I only have two day 5 blasts. We'll be transferring both.

Shari- where in Israel are you (if you don't mind me asking)? My father was born and raised in Israel but has lived in the states for 30+ years. Happy early birthday to your little one! I wasn't on this forum when I did my last cycle. I was on another forum but things changed over there and a bunch of us jumped over here.

Lady J -keep rubbing that Budda's belly - for all of us PLEASE!

Is there anything special you ladies are doing with this cycle? acupuncture, diet, massage, etc?

Hey girls, I'm new to this forum and I would like to join the wait. This will be my first ivf and I'm a little nervous about all the medication and the shots. I just took the medication class on sunday and waiting for ivf orientation in the beginning of next month. Also my doctor want to do a saline sono before starting, can anyone tell me a little about this procedure please, since my doctor told me to take 2 motrin before because it's a little uncomfortable. :(
I'm really excited and hopefully we get a lot of BBF here pretty soon.

Hi ladies! I've been waiting for a September thread to pop up :) I don't think it's too soon at all to get one going.

Our story - DH had vasectomy after three daughters with previous wife about 14 years ago. Tried reversal two years ago, no luck. First IVF April/May of this year, chemical pregnancy. Pretty much devastating. I had prepared myself for it not working, but the chemical was really hard to take. We were going to get started right away on try #2, but we had two of the kids (ages 17 and 14) for three weeks in July and the stress of that plus lupron/mood swings/etc was going to be too much, so we decided to wait until we were back to the every other weekend thing to get back on the IVF thing. We have two frosties from the last try, but are planning on a fresh cycle this time because the odds are better and we figure even if we had kids with the frosties, we would do one more try for a sibling anyway. If IVF #2 doesn't work, we'll be using the frosties next.

AFM, I'm waiting for AF to start the bcps. I figure I'm about two weeks away, which, depending on how my clinic schedules me, would put me at ER/ET sometime toward the end of September.

I look forward to cycling with you guys! The support on this board is amazing and I am so glad there is some place where everyone understands how difficult this is.
Me - 30, Perfect
DH - 47, Failed VR 2007, 3 kids

1st IVF- May 09 - BFP - Chemical :(
2 Frosties Remaining
2nd IVF- Oct 09 - BFP! :) Beta #s - 567, 1302, 3016

Hi Ladies

I am actually posting on the July/august Board but always like to read other boards to see where others are in their journey! And I thought I could shed some light for Jayden!

Jayden- To help answer your question on your saline sono.....I had this done too as a last check to make sure my uterus was capable of children and so on! Do take 2 motrin before you go in it helps with the cramps afterwards. It is not PAINFUL! It is VERY uncomfortable. What they do is they feed a catheter up into your uterus, on the end of the catheter is a tiny balloon that they blow up once inside. It blows up probably to the size of a dime, not very big! But it causes a lot of pressure. What it feels like is (sorry for this explanation but it is exactly what it feels like) diarrhea pains. It doesnt last more then 3 minutes or so. But you will be fine. It helps that they have the screen there for you to look at too so it helps distract you. It is neat seeing the saline go through your body! I cramped for the rest of the day but by the time I went to bed I was fine. I had it done late morning, came back to work that day too. Like I said it is just a lot of pressure but nothing to be worried or scared about. When are you doing this?

I will be praying that everything goes well for you all on this board!!

hey everyone!

i'm not sure if i'll be in august or sept so i decided to post here. here's our story:

DH and I have been together for 8 yrs married for 3. we haven't used an birth control in over 5 years and i always thought is was strange that we never got pregnant 'on accident.' we have been TTC for 18 mths with no luck. found out DH has sperm count of 4 million, but i'm completely normal. they are trying different meds to boost his testoterone and therefore raise his sperm count, but i got tired of waiting so we're doing ivf. he also said that he doesn't want to keep going through 'all this' so he was game for ivf too. he kills me with 'all this.' what exactly is he going through, a couple sperm analyses, lol? he tries to be supportive but sometimes he is so insensitive. anyway, i started BCPs on 7/7 and am scheduled to start lupron on 7/31, but i have no idea when i will have ER and ET. what do you guys think? i just found out last week that i have an enlarged thyroid so i've spend this week rushing around trying to get BW and a scan to see if there's anything wrong. BW was normal and i have no signs of cancer or anything horrible. i have my final scan this afternoon so i'm trying to have PMA and hoping that i can start lupron on 7/31.

jayden i didn't have any pain with the saline test, no cramping or anything. it's not scary at all.

Welcome mjay, jayden, penny2, statsgoddess!

Jayden - I would take the mortin before the saline sono. I thought my first one was pretty painful (the doc has some complications) but the second one was a breeze. I found I was more uncomfortable AFTER the test than during. The cramps for me weren't very pleasant.

Shari - My dad grew up outside of Haifa. We don't have any family left in Israel so we don't visit very much anymore. I think the last time I was there was I was in high school. My dad was last back about 5 years ago for my aunt's funeral. I keep trying to convince him that we should do a family trip. I would love to bring my dh there.

mjay - did your clinic give you an estimated calendar? My clinic has gives one based on when bcp and lupron starts and they try to estimate when the ER will be. I can't remember back specifically to my fresh cycle but I think that the ER will be a couple of weeks after you begin the lurpon (maybe 2 or 3).

statsgoddess - did your doc suggest a fresh cycle again or was that your choice? I only have two frozen embies also and have gone back and forth on doing a FET or going for a fresh cycle again. We have decided on the FET but I am not trying to get my hopes up too much.

Hope everyone is having a great start to the weekend!

WOW!!! I'm so excited this thread is taking off! I have been really busy the past couple of days and I'm so far behind! We went on a road trip with the kids on Thursday to Alabama and spent the day fishing yesterday. Here is a little more history on me:
This is my husband and my second marriage. I have no children and he has 2. About 12 years ago while he was still married the first time, he had a vasectomy. In December of 2006 he had a reversal. We tried for 2 years, but no luck. Every sperm sample he had done came up negative. So his urologist told us that the only other option we had was IVF. We started our first cycle in April after his PESA in Feb. I produced 18 eggs, 14 fertilized, 8 fertilized normally. When it came time for the fresh transfer we only had 3 left. We opted to transfer only one to reduce the chance of twins. BFN. The day after, they called and told us that one of the embies had arrested and were only able to freeze one. May 20 we had our FET. 9 days later - BFP!!!! WE were so excited, but the clinic was concerned because my hCG wasn't as high as they thought it should be. After the second u/s, it was confirmed why - Blighted ovum. Placenta and sac, but no baby. So I stopped all my meds and had a miscarriage. We are very hopeful for this next time. We firmly believe that everything happens for a reason and there is a divine plan for all of us even if it doesn't go as we think it should.
My 2 stepsons are so helpful and supportive through this whole ordeal. We have decided to include them in the process as much as possible and let them give me my shots during this next cycle. :? I think they will do great!

Wolffie- Keep the faith. Your FET WILL WORK! :D That's what I have to keep telling myself about this next cycle. It's hard to deal with the "what if's", but I find that I am much more relaxed and receptive if I just keep my head up and think positive.

Lady J - I have a good friend (step aunt) who is from Vietnam and is Buddist. I had her pray for me after my FET and I became pregnant! Even though it didn't make it, at least I know I got pregnant and I can do it again. Rub the belly for me one good time!

Sharishu - Hang in there! October will be here before you know it!

stlgirl - I'm sorry to hear about your DH cancer. I'm glad you decided to join us and even more glad that you guys aren't giving up. Goodness knows that we can use all the support we can get!!! How old is your little girl? What meds are you taking this time? I will be on Lupron and Follistim.

Jaydentd - Great to have you as a first timer! I was so nervous at first, but you'll be a pro in no time! As for the saline sono, it was just about as bad as your first pap smear. I didn't take any meds, but the motrin doesn't sound like a bad idea.

statsgoddess - I can understand the step children issue, but boys are definately a lot different that girls. I have 2 step sons and they are awesome! I'm glad you waited to try again. I think you will be much more relaxed and ready without all the stress.

mjay - sounds like you will probably be Aug. for the ER and ET, but I am so glad you joined us here. You may still be in your 2ww in Sept. so that definately counts! :D The tentative schedule that my RE gave me was: after AF started I will begin Lupron 21 days later. I will be on that for about 10 days or until I have a 'Lupron bleed' then I will start stims. I responded pretty well last time so it may take about a week then I'll trigger. As Wolffie mentioned, I would ask for a calendar.

AFM - I am ready to get this party started!!!!! I've never wanted AF here so bad! I've been working in the garden and canning like crazy to get it all done before ET.

Hope everyone had/is having a great weekend!
