Post by tryn4#2 »

I am beginning my second IVF cycle. My first cycle (Dec 2007) resulted in a darling son. I will stop BC on Thursday. How long does it usually take AF to arrive after stopping BC?

Once AF arrives, I will start the other meds. I am scared and anxious. I keep telling myself that it worked the first time so it should work again. Then again, I also realize that it may not.

I wish you all the very best of luck.. LOTS of BABY DUST to you all!!!!

fitzjr - YAY for AF!!!!

tryn - WELCOME!!! I never got a period with y protocol. I started BCP the day I got AF, was on them for a week and-a-half, and the last 4 days of that they started the lupron injections. They're making you wait for a period eh? We will do the AF dance for you!

beth - how are you my dear cycle twin? (((hugs))) We're almost to BETA, but it's killing me! You know what I've been doing? Practicing the BFP phone call in my head: Phone rings, I answer, "Hello?" Doctor says, "Hi Lori, this is 'Doctor so-and-so', (like I don't know from my caller ID heehee), how are you doing (dumbest question in the world)?" I respond, "Scared out of my mind!" He says, "Well, I have WONDERFUL news! You ARE pregnant!" At which point I burst into tears and thank my great and awesome God. :D

Hye girls! I've been reading up on everyone's posts. Just havn't replied.

I've not got time for personals right now- DD is begging to go swimming.

Just wanted to update really quickly!

Dr's Office called saturday, out of 11 embies 7 are still looking really good. The nurse said we should have a couple of really great ones to transfer tomorrow and hopefully a few to freeze!

My transfer is at 0900 tomorrow morning. I'm nervous, but so excited all at the same time!!!

I want you all to know that i'm thinking of everyone today and I'll do personals later if I can.

Off to warm my tummy in the sun!

The never ending IVF cycle

Post by butterfly78 »

Well..... my never ending cycle continues; Friday's monitoring visit resulted in a monitoring visit today AND today's resulted in another one tomorrow. I feel so poked and prodded. Both my stomach and vein are bruised from the constant needles. And I'm extremely queezy. The doc said it was a result of the estrogen and not to worry. I'm ready for this to be over (I don't know how some of you have done this more than once! I think I'll be a one timer regardless of the outcome). I'm hanging in there, but definitely not at my best (physically or emotionally).

I have 10 good follicles growing. They want them to be around 18MM, so I should be ready to do my ovidrel tomorrow. I'm tentatively scheduled for a ER on Wednesday 7/29.

Good luck to those with their transfers tomorrow.

Evening girls,

Dogzrule you are so funny!!! When i got pregnant my first sign was a pull sensation and that it felt like i did 100's situps hopefully your pull means same thing.

Beth it is natural to start feeling negative during 2ww as you want to prepare yourself in case its a bfn but try keep up pma it aint over yet xxx

Babiesgalore congrats on the transfer you are officially pupo!!! Now the hard part 2ww!!!

Cheekyone beta time nearly here for you too!!

sunnygirl i hope you had a great day with dh, fair play to you for doing a lot of this on your own when you get your bfp it will be sooooo worth it, how was trigger. Quick question do ye girls do your own trigger??? We are not allowed here has to be done by doctor so i usually go to care doc for them to do it.

butterfly hang in there, its strange to say this but you do get used to be poked and prodded!!! After 5 attempts at this if someone asked me to walk down street naked it wouldnt phase me  so many people have seen my bits and pieces at this stage that it nearly feels normal....... nearly!! Your hormones are all over the place at the mo but you will pull thro xxx

teachertam how are you doing?

Girls keep up the PMA esp. those on the 2ww, it is so nice to be part of a great group of girls who are there for each other thro. highs and lows (please god there wont be many lows). Sending ye all lots of sticky irish baby dust xxxxx

So much to catch up on. Apologies to those people I inadvertently leave out. I'll blame the progesterone.

lw - Good luck with transfer - I'll be sending lots of positive vibes your way tomorrow morning!

Babies - Welcome to the lovely 2WW! Sounds like everything went well!

Sunnygirl - Hooray for triggering! You must be so excited for the ER.

Cheekyone - Are we done yet with the 2ww?

Lisa10 -I didn't have bad reactions to much, but when I was on the lupron, I was totally exhausted. Like going to bed at 8pm exhausted.

Cressicaw - Stim away!

Fitz - hooray for AF - how weird is that?

Butterfly - Hang in there, you're almost there!

gi - yep, we do our own trigger on this side of the pond. Well, DH does it, cause I can't really reach around that way very well.

Katie- ready to start!

tryn4#2 - Welcome - my doctor didn't have me wait for a period after BCPs either, since I was only one them for 2 weeks and didn't have much of a lining to shed. He just had me start stims 4 days later.

dogz- I love your positive attitude. I'm trying - really hoping that one or both of these little blasts sticks with me. I feel like I should feel something already though, and I'm not sure I do. I keep reminding myself that some women get the BFPs without any symptoms ahead of time...

starwishes - good luck with the testing - no matter what, we'll be here for you!

AFM - The move went well - the unpacking is just about done, and it's feeling like home. Beta on Wednesday. No matter what, I need to remember how lucky I am in lots of ways. And I've still got six frosties (three from 1st cycle and 3 from this one).

lw918- best of luck on the ET tomorrow! 7 sounds absolutely fabulous! Baby dust in on the way!

butterfly78- 10 follies! I hate you young ladies! ( just kidding!) I only have 5 so far!
Hang in there, best of luck at the ET. it's my 1st ivf too and i THINK there is a light at the end of the tunnel!

gi- i take notes to catch up with you guys too! my DH has to do the trigger and i am dreading it....shall we say he's not "good" with that kind of thing. i'll update you all on the pain tomorrow !:) How was your "evening of guilt?" did you milk it for all it's worth?

lisa & dessie- hi! welcome to a great group! i think that feeling yucky could also be attributed to some anxiety. try to relax !

cressicaw- i hope you and your family are healing and good luck with the stims!

fitzjr11- great! on time is good!

katie99- hooray for baseline! get ready for the pincushion stage!

cheekyone, starwishes, babies, beth84 & dogzrule- if i'm not mistaken you are all at the same 2ww stage! i would be rehearsing what i would hear and say on the phone too if i were any of you. how exciting. when are all of your BETA dates?
I WANNA SEE SOME BFP'S POSTED THIS WEEK! GET ON IT! :D

helen- hang in there...and yes, we all deserve the BFP after all this!

miyaya- Yey! start the lupron!

AFM- my DH will attempt to give me the trigger in approx. 2 hours. YIKES! i'm so nervous about the next several days! tell me it will all be okay!!!!ER on tuesday morning!

I hope i didn't miss anyone....there are so many of us ( which is so nice!)! enjoy your evening and i hope we all dream wonderful baby filled dreams tonight so that we can see some BFP's posted real soon! :D

sorry! forgot someone and something!

tiffywall- i have been asking & learning about AH too. if i find out anything else tomorrow i will send you a post! they say they very often do it for women over 38 at our clinic and i had to sign a consent for it just in case, how about you?

also......did everyone have to do an endometrial co culture before their cycle? my clinic does them, but they didn't have me do it (?) i am going to ask about that again too. thanks!

Good evening all, just a quick post before I go to bed. (yeah right, I always mean for them to be quick, but that never happens!)

sunny- I did start my lupron, tonight was day 5, and tonight will be my last bcp...supression check on thursday. Good luck with trigger and we will be praying for lots of eggies on tuesday for you.

beth- glad to hear the move went well, just a few more days until beta, how exciting!

starwishes, I know it's hard, but try to keep the faith, I do hope the spotting stops for you.

gi- thanks for all that sticky irish dust, we all know how lucky irish dust is...so it is much appreciated!

butterfly- your almost there, I hope you get the ok to trigger tomorrow and have ER soon, it does seem like you have been stimming forever.

lw- good luck at transfer, lots of sticky dust coming your way! I hope you get some frosties...and hopefully you and DD stayed cool in the pool today.

dogz- that sounds like an awesome bfp phone call...almost brought me to tears just reading it. I will never experience a surprise at my phone call b/c I can not stay away from the pee sticks, so I already always know the answer, good or bad.

tryn4#2- is this your first time on this board? I also did my first cycle in dec 2007 which resulted in my DD. I was wondering if you were an old cycle buddy of mine or a newbie to these boards. Either way, a big welcome and hopefully we will both get a sibling for our little miracles.

katie- thanks for remembering me...I feel all special, I got my own post...lol. Thanks for the dance, the lupron is fine. I don;t get many side effects from it, I guess a few headaches, but I get those even when I am not on lupron, so I can handle it.

cressica- that is interesting about being a split donor, I am not sure I have heard of that. I guess a good way to save money and to help someone out. I hope you get enough eggs to go through with your plan.

not much new with me, still on the lupron, last bcp tonight, supression u/s and bw on thursday morning. I am keeping my fingers crossed, but at the same time, not getting my hopes up. I just have this horrible feeling that b/c I pushed RE for august instead of september that it will come back to bite me in the butt. Maybe I have just had so many delays I just can't ever imagine making it to FET day. Maybe it's because I took a quiz on facebook that said I will get pregnant in December 2009! Stupid quiz, it better not be right and I better get pregnant sooner than that...lol Oh well, enough ppity party for me...it's off to bed and to the start of a crazy busy week, but then after this week I should get a nice big break in my schedule and go back to just doing the stay at home mommy thing...I can't wait!

Hello I hope I'm doing this right. I'm new to this board but not to IVF. I have done IVF 6 times. One early miscarriage and one amazing two year old boy. Long journey started at 32 with my husband who had the fertility issues, I was supposed to have no problems. But of course that would have been too easy. Umm FSH low but I didn't respond to the meds. I had about 2 really lousy embroyos to transfer.
So those who don't respond well during the 1st attempt don't give up. The RE has the protocals of what should work for you but your body has not been tested yet.
So my RE upped my meds and then got the call saying I don't why your embroyos are so bad quality for your age..Ugh.. So 6 2WW's very stressful but I knew one day it would work.
So during my last 2ww my breasts were very sensitive and I had a wonderful pregnancy.
Sorry so long but I start Lupron injections, tomorrow, Mon. I am on 375 iu of Follistim in the Am and 375 iu of Menopur in the pm. Crazy!!

So that's my story, stuggling with my baby so night night!
