I took 75 mgs/day DHEA for 12 weeks before this (my 3rd cycle). New RE, she said "it couldn't hurt". It is supposed to help those of us who are poor responders with egg quality and egg quantity.
My results are mixed. It was my worst response yet. Only 3 mature eggs of which only 1 fertilized. My first cycle (without DHEA) we had 5 mature eggs, 2 transferred on day 3, and our 2nd cycle was: 2 mature eggs, both fertilized, both transferred on day 2 . Both cycles BFN.
We transferred the one embryo we had on day 3. It was only 4 cells and was graded poorly. However.....I got a BFP! It is early days yet - tomorrow is my second beta. (praying and hoping this is a healthy pregnancy)
Do I feel DHEA helped? No - I feel the real difference this cycle was 1) the transfer and 2) my attitude (I had moved on and had accepted where I was at completely - DH and I were looking into adoption and DE).
I hope this helps you with your question. Best wishes!

Sprouthaus -- Thanks so much and congrats on your BFP. I am looking into donor egg, still debating if I want to try 1 last cycle with my eggs. It is such a hard decision. One day I tell myself I will try again with my eggs and the next I am determined to do donor egg. Will be keeping my fingers crossed that your little fighter is a sticky one and your beta's will double.
