I don't know how I'm going to make it through this 2WW. This has been the longest weekend and I have spent most analyzing every little cramp, twinge, and gurgle! Thank God I go back to work tomorrow. It will be a nice distraction. I'm wondering when I MIGHT be able to detect some symptoms......

Good evening ladies! Just back from our weekend away and a quick update from me - apologies for not doing personals for people but I'll catch up with all the weekend posts and do personals properly tomorrow morning.

So... my scan on Friday showed that my lining was only at 6mm when it should have been at least 8mm by then. So they have increased my estrogen dose over the weekend and I have to go back tomorrow afternoon for another scan to see if the lining is any better. If it is 8mm or more, then my FET will probably be Thursday. If not, I dread to think what happens, I hope I don't get cancelled... :(

Keep your fingers crossed for me!

Michele - thank you for the lining 'thickening dance', I definitely need it, hope it has worked! How is it going on Lupron?

Rosario - It's SOOOOO good to hear from you and to hear the news that all is still OK with your three little beans. I think we were all starting to get worried as we hadn't heard from you! I can't believe you are already 11 weeks pregnant - where does the time go??? Roll on 12 weeks and then you will be able to relax a little more in your second trimester. Have you told everyone yet or are you waiting for the 12 week mark?

marymeganb - hurray, you're PUPO! Hope you have your feet up and are being pampered. Snuggle in, little embies...

sprouthaus - good luck with your second beta!

vicky - did you have a good anniversary celebration on Friday night? Not long until beta now on Wednesday... How are you feeling, did you decide whether to POAS today or tomorrow?

KJGrant - even less time to go until your beta! How're you doing?

truebeliever - fantastic beta number, congratulations! Please report in when you can with your second beta number from yesterday!

angieinhull - Woo hoo, that's brilliant news! Soooo happy for you and DH. So what's the next step - if you do a HPT rather than have beta, when is your first blood test/scan? In the meantime, make sure you stay away from that swine flu! What did your boss say when you spoke to him?

lw918 - good luck for your transfer today! Did you get a good day 3 progress report on Saturday? How many did you transfer today?

wickedwheel - still sounding good with you, hang in there!

wishfull - good to hear from you, glad you managed to grab time in between sleeping to say hello, LOL!!! Can't believe you're 9 weeks preganng already, not long until that 12 week scan!! Has it sunk in yet?

Johannanita - still doing the dance for you, honey... Did you take the pill that the clinic gave you or wait it out over the weekend? P.S. I've been told previously when I was timing my scans for IUI that 'day 1' of AF is the first day on which you have a full flow of blood, but if that starts after 5/6pm in the evening, then day 1 is the following day. But it might be different in the US.

afnss - congratulations, sounds like a positive to me! When is your beta?

Joud - if the clinic said to wait until day 14 for the blood test, I would tend to go with that, although I know from reading these boards that some ladies have their test at day 10 post transfer. Let us know what you decide.

Isaiah - good luck with your test on Friday.

katie99 - just three days to go until stims, bring it on... Good luck for your baseline tomorrow!

katieg - how's things with you? Are you still on course for FET early August?

Whew, I think that's me all caught up with personals! I will post again after my scan this afternoon.

Take care,
Hazel

I hate Monday's. I had to go back to work today! Getting to work on a Monday in D.C. is no fun, either. The metro was packed beyond it's usual Monday capacity b/c one of the main roads into D.C. is closed b/c the Prez is speaking at the Reagan center later today. Anyhoo, I had a water bottle in my purse b/c I'm trying to drink TONS of water during the 2WW. As I'm hurrying up the escalator, trying to go w/ the masses of people, I trip and fall. My first thought is, DAMMIT, the embies aren't going to like that. My second thought is check your purse to make sure nothing fell out. Nothing fell out, but my water bottle exploded and DESTROYED my cell phone! ARRRRGGGGHHH!!!! My contacts are lost and I have to wait until Wed. to get my new phone. Of course I enjoy getting a new phone even if it isn't the IPHONE I've been wanting forever. I hate Monday's.

I hope I didn't hurt the embies.

Hello Ladies,
I hope you all had a great weekend. I sure did! :) We went to Island of Adventures in Orlando this weekend. We had a blast. I don't quite remember who's bright idea it was to go to one of the parks at the end of July in the Florida heat. It was sooo hot, but we had a great time anyway. I actually got my DH to get on a ride with me. He ademently does not do rides, so I was really happy. That was the only ride he got on a whole day though. lol

Katie99 - Looks like I'm going to have a cycle buddy!! I go in for baseline tomorrow am also! YAY. I'm so excited too. We'll have to compare notes as we go along. :) What's your protocal? I did lupron, menapur and follistim last time. They're putting me on a lupron flare this time around. Something about a smaller dosage of lupron. Once I definately find out tomorrow, I'll let you know.

Angieinhull - Congrats!!! I'm so very happy for you. I hope you enjoy your pregnancy!!

hjw - I actually decided to wait it out so it wouldn't ruin my weekend. Well me were packing last night to come back home and AF came. YAY.

Marymeganb - i really hope your little trip didn't hurt your little embies either. I will pray for you and you keep positive thoughts. I hope to see your BFP post at the end of your tww.

AFM, OK, you can all stop doing the AF dance for me now. It worked. It's here, it's here. lol I decided to wait it out and not go pick up my prescription for the pill that would have made AF come. We decided if I hadn't gotten it by last night that I would stop by the pharmacy and pick it up tonight. Well, now I can save some money because I don't have to go pick it up. YAY!! I have to go home tonight and take inventory of the drugs I have left from my canceled cycle. I go in tomorrow am for baseline. I started doing A/P and he's supposed to be working on my hormone inbalances and he said that my AF should be less painfull. Well, i think it's working. I would normally be in so much pain my first day. I'm doing so well today that I haven't even taken anything for my cramps. I mean I still have cramps, but they are so much less painfull then normally. So I'm going to definately continue going. It's doing something good! At least now I don't feel like I'm just waisting my money for something that might work. I hope it helps with my cycle.

So I did a little math and I if all goes according to plan then I should be doing my ER Labor day weekend. So does that mean I'm cycling July/August or August/Sept? I guess I should hold off on scheduling that little Labor Day getaway I was planning for me and DH. Oh who cares, I'm just soooo excited.

Thank you all for the responce on the whole when is cycle day 1. I thought it would be the first day of full flow. It only makes sense.

As soon as I get my schedule tomorrow I'll be sure to share my dates!

Have a wonderful day ladies.

Hello everyone! I know it's been a couple weeks. I am still having trouble dealing with my BFN. DH and I are considering asking my cousin to be a surrogate for us. I just don't think this is ever going to work for me. So why waste my embryos on me... So I was just wondering if anyone here knows someone who used a surrogate or looked into surrogacy, if you do please let me know. I am trying to find out as much information as possible before I ask her. Hearing stories first hand is much better than reading some of the stuff off the internet - you never know what to believe.

true - OMG!!! CONGRATULATIONS MOM!!!!!! Now I bet you believe in the power of the "it only takes 1 dance!" SO happy for you!!! :D

marymegan - Its bad enough that its monday, I'm sorry that yours was even worse! Good thing that you didnt hurt yourself, and I'm sure that the embies are completly fine ( they are so well cushioned by design)

mikeandjess - I was so sorry to hear of your bfn. I know how much it hurts  It is wonderful to hear that you are ready to move forward now!! I'm sorry to have no info on surrogacy, but I'm sure someone here will. How great is your cousin ? :D

HUGS & PRAYERS TO YOU ALL !!!

TrueBeliever - way to go with another great beta number! Congratulations again!! With tripling numbers, are you sure you've only got one little bean in there, lol??

marymeganb - sorry to hear about your crappy Monday, yes they totally suck. Don't worry about the fall affecting your embies, they have lots of protection where they are and will be fine.

Johannanita - hurray, AF arrived! So pleased that you get to start your cycle now, and how nice that you and katie99 will be on the same timing! For both you and katie99, hope baseline goes well tomorrow, report in when you get home!

mikeandjess - I'm sorry, I don't know anything about surrogacy, but maybe someone else on this thread will. Have you also tried the other forums on this website (particularly the 'Life After IVF' at the bottom, which I think is an adoption/surrogacy/non-IVF options forum)? But are you sure you want to give up on IVF? If egg quality is the issue, have you looked into egg donor? I've read lots of women getting pregnant through egg donor after BFN's with their own eggs. Of course you and DH must do what is best for you!

AFM, I'm just back from the clinic - my lining is at 7.5mm, so not quite the 8mm or over they wanted, but they have scheduled my FET for Thursday 30th anyway. Woo hoo, three days until I'm PUPO...

Some not so great news - the clinic has just changed their protocols so that they do not do beta pregnancy blood tests, they just ask you to do an HPT at home on day 18 and (if it's positive) another one on day 25. Even then, no blood test but they will have you in for a scan sometime between day 35-42. How loooooong a wait is that going to be if this works!!

Hi ladies,

Hazel - me and DH had a lovely 2nd attempt at our 5th wedding anniversary! We went for a lovely meal and had a few drinks a little village near where we live. :D Good to hear your lining is starting to thicken up. My clinic don't do beta blood tests, just a HPT at home and that's it until your first u/s!

marymeganb - sorry to hear you didn't have a great Monday! Try not to worry about embies, I'm sure they are nicely settling in x

mikeandjess - it is nice to hear from you, hope you're feeling a little better. I don't know much about surrogacy. What a great cousin you have if she agrees though. You might change your mind once you've got over the devastation of this BFN. I've mentioned surrogacy to my clinic and they looked at me very oddly like I was crazy to mention it!! Again b/c of my age they think I've got years ahead of me which I suppose I have but after so many failed cycles you just want the baby don't you! Don't give up hope though, I'm sure it'll all work itself out x

Well 2 days to go and I am GOING CRAZY  I went out yesterday and was gonna buy a HPT from this cheap shop - didn't want to spend a lot on a test, don't like to see the BFN on either cheap or expensive test! ha But they shop didn't have any tests?! So I thought well that means I shouldn't test before my D-Day!

I've felt really pants these last few days. I've had a little nap these last few nights and I'm still getting stomach cramps. Really feel like AF has arrived everytime I go to loo! I really just want to know now. Out of the whole IVF process the 2ww really is the hardest!!

Me and DH have agreed to book a holiday IF it's a BFN and have a few months off and try naturally to conceive! Plus we've still got 10 frosties to use as well.

But until Wed I'm trying my hardest with PMA PMA PMA!!!! :D

Hi all,

hjw- Thanks for asking, my beta is tomorrow I am very excited my 2ww wasn't as hard as I thought it would be time really flew for me but today is killing me I just can't wait anymore. Good luck with you glad to see you have a date, you will be the only one in the 4ww club!!

Vicky1707 -
I just read your post and it reminded me of a story, I just met a women this past weekend and have to share her story with you. One of my mothers friends was at a party I also attended on Saturday and she apparently announced to my mother that she was pregnant. My mother congratulated her and the women told my mother they had been trying for 6 years and just this past year had began fertility treatments, so my mom ran and got me so I could talk to her. She told my that last summer she started IUI and had 2 failed cycles then this spring they had a failed IVF cycle and so they decided to take a break and do some traveling and they conceived naturally!! So I just wanted to share even though I am sending PMA and I am sure you will get your BFP when you have your beta, good luck. Plus 10 frosties wow!!

also congrats to TrueBeliever and angeinhull

My beta is tomorrow, I am so ready I did not POAS, well I did last week knowing it was to early for a real result so I just did it to see if my trigger was gone. I have been to nervous to do it since, so will see my OHSS symptoms are all gone and have to returned at all, I just still have some incredible cramps and I hope they are a good thing. Thanks to you all for being on the other side of my computer, what would I do otherwise!!?? (I guess drive my DH crazy) -Kasey

Hi all

Thank you for all your kind wishes. We are so happy but also nervous now! I guess the worry never ends. As our clinic does not do bt we did 2 tests just to be sure. We went to the hospital today and got more progesterone supplements and our scan apptmnt is 18 August. 3 days before dh bday.

Vicky - Good luck tomorrow, I am sure you can't wait at the moment.

KJGrant - Hope it is good news today. You are strong not POAS. Take care and let us know your good news.

HJW - What 18 days?! That will be so long.

mikeandjess - sorry I do not know anything about surrogacy. I hope whatever route you choose is succesful for you and you start to get better soon.

Johannanita - Oh to live in Florida and be able to go to IOA! I love America whereever I have been but Florida has always been one of my favourite places. I always wished I could live over there! I thought I would have a chance when my Dad married an American lady but then they moved back to Europe! Fantastic news AF is finally here, role on labor day weekend.

marymegan - I am sure you did not hurt embies. WHat a horrible day but does sound like a typical monday. New phone though so something good. Stickie vibes to you.

Truebeliever - Wow, tripled! Great numbers. Can't wait to see what they are on thursday. So ecxiting

Katie - so glad you are finally getting there. I hope baseline went well today.

Michele - HAve you started the Lupron now?

Hugs to all
