Hi Traci,

...and I was going to ask you about it......

As you know I have just failed a cycle with my own eggs and for ages I have been told I would have a better chance with donor eggs. I was on a couple of waiting lists .....and guess what one has a donor for me! We have decided that we are going to go for it. I start downregging on Monday and EC is likely to be w/c 10/5. I cant wait I am so excited but also nervous asit isnt my own eggs and I dont know how i will feel if it does work.

I dont know anyone who has used donor eggs but eveyone that knows says it will feel like my baby if it works and just to think of it as a helping hand like IVF is.

When do you start. I guess it must be about now.

Sue
looks like you and Allison are exactly the same week  hope you are feeling better today , which Care are you at again? did they not treat you right yesterday? :( My hurdel to get over when I have my scan next AF which is to determind downregg has occured is that 2 cycles ago I had 2 large cysts on my right ovary and they are going to assess them when they scan me , I think this is a bit late in the day when they could have done something about it in the last 2 weeks , my poor donor is already downregged and I only start today then she has to wait a further 5 days for me to start Progynova she will be climing the walls!!!
anyway I am not going to worry.

Hi Trace and Sue,

Its really lovely to find two other girls going through a DE cycle with me. Traci I have cycled with you in the past but hiya Sue as well.

Sue - I hope your day today is proving to be a bit better than yesterday. I know it is hard to be far away from your clinic - mine is about a 3 hr drive away so I really do understand. I live in East Anglia and my clinic is in Walsall. Where are you travelling from and to?

It seems our dates are very similar. When do you start down regging. I start Monday although my drugs havent yet arrived. I have had them promised for today so that should be fine. My first scan isnt till 23/4 to check I am downregged OK and if both donor and me are down regged she starts on the stimms while I start on the HRT.

Traci - You start down regging today so I hope that goes well. I'm sure the cysts will sort themselves out so please try not to worry. When is your scan to check? What will they do if the cysts are still there?

As an experienced recipient, how much info do they give you about the donor and how she is doing re no of follicles etc. Is it OK for us to phone and ask every couple of days after her scan or is that a bit of a taboo? I guess it may have been different for you anyway as I know it was your cousin who donated last time.

Is Progynova your HRT? I have been prescribed Oestradiol Valerate.

Keep smiling. Its got to be our turn for the BFP soon!

Hi Girls
Yes being a hairdresser has its good days and bad , and I have had a bad weekend , I really got in a bad mood on friday and blew a stack at my manageress and tried to apologise that evening and she wouldnt answere her texts or phone and I was going frantic cause I felt so bad anyway I sorted it out today , I think its THE PILL I dont get ratty on downregg and since Ive been on the pill I have been really low, what with that and my dad I feel like running away, I was so exausted all I could do was sleep !!!! anyway better news RE: my Dad his blood test were all ok and only borderline high colesterol so I guess that his arturies cant be that bad !!! anyway downregging no probs and since I have been doing them at 11pm at night I dont get the headaches that I got when I do them in the morning. AF should come on Saturday and scan for downreggulation should be Tuesday all being well with the scans. and the Cysts

How are we all?

Hi Traci

Glad your Dad is not as bad as first originally thought. It's still a worry but you just have to have faith that it will all turn out ok in the end, be strong.

What a relief you managed to sort things out with your manageress. It's such a stressful time all this IVF lark it's amazing we don't alienate just about everybody we know!!!! I am quite lucky as I don't seem to get horried side affects during down regging or stimms I just get OHSS afterwards

Take care and good luck :D

Love Dagny xkx

Hi Girls,

Traci - Glad your Dad seems OK now and I hope things calm down a bit for you at work. Good luck for your scan today!

Sue - .....and I thought we were the only ones to go to a clinic so far away! You are obviously mad as well. What made you go to Manchester? Have you had cycles there before?

Traci & Sue - My cycle seems to be much longer than both of yours. Can I ask you what drugs/scans etc you have and when. I am on Buserelin now for downreg, Scan 23/4, if OK then I start HRT on 25/4 and donor starts stimulation, HRT starts off at one per day for 5 days then 2 per day for 4 days then 3 per day, Scan on 12th day and if everthing is OK then EC and ET the following week (W/C 10/5), Cyclogest and heparin after EC. I would love to shorten it if poss. How does this compare to your drugs/dates?

Hi to JulyAnn and Dagny as well.

I know that my clinic dont seem to keep you downregging for three weeks , which is better they call you downregged on day 3 of your af

2nd April start Buserelin
9th should be AF
12th April should be scan but they are closed for bh mon so it will be the 13th April
that day I start Progenova for 5 days inc Buserelin aswell then
after 5 days it is increased to 2 x progynova and Donor starts stimms
so I guess she will start stimms around 17th April ,
her first scan will be 7 days after which will be the 23rd April
then another scan on the 26th then I recon EC will be 29th 30th then I take cyclogest after the ET
Does this make sence?

Hi Traci,

Thanks for letting me know your drugs. Isn't it strange how clinics differ in what they do. Lets hope that whatever method they use we both get that long awaited positve!

Hi Girls
My protocol is abit shorter than your I have no downreg due to premature menopause last year I was 38 a was told this with very little tact ,when our first ivf was cancelled due to no responce, this was at the lister in London .When we decided to try again with DE the lister waiting list was 2 years ,then someone on this site suggested the Care in Manchester and there waiting list was about 4 months .We had a doner back in January
but unfortunatly it did not work out ,so off we go again
Day 1-5 progynova 2mg Doner start stimms
Day 6-9 progynova 4 mg
Day 9 go for scan ( going on day 10 locally )
Day 10 6 mg progynova
Then day before donors ER start Cyclogest 400g
I,m not sure when this is going to take place what with Easter Holiday
