Although our first IVF cycle went smoothly, we did not conceive. What can we do after transfer to increase the likelihood of embyo attachment? Live normally? Limit activity? Stay in bed for a week?
So sorry to hear about your first attempt failing - mine did too. We also went for FET in Jan 2004 and again no luck.
I don't think there is a right or wrong thing to do after transplant, just make sure you take the week off work, for the collection/transfer and basically take it easy and pamper yourself. Other than that, it is entirely down to "mother nature", so I am told.
This time around, I am trying acupuncture, I am having one session a week, leading up to my EC on 1 June. I have read in my fertility books that this can prepare the womb for a pregnancy, rebalance your "chi" and also unblock any weak blood flow in and around the womb. It's not cheap at £25.00 per session, but I am willing to try anything for a positive result this time around.
When are you scheduled for another cycle?
1 failed ICSI, 1 failed FET, next treatment starts in May with EC on 1 June 2004, hoping for a 2005 baby!
If only we knew!!! I'd say take it very easy the first few days after ET as if anything's going to happen, it's then! Apart from that, relax, drinks loads of water, no lifting etc (and I was told, no long car journeys) - apart from that live life as normal.
I usually take off the whole 2 weeks and my consultant laughed and said " some people take 2 weeks of and do nothing " I just laughed him off and didnt tell him I did that too!!!! I think you just have to try and be normal , aparently being active instead of laying there stiff is better cause it makes the blood flow round the body more !!! But dont lift anything or Hoover .
