Jumping over

Post by Julie nurse »

Hi Ladies, I'm coming over from the Jube/July board as well.

I had my 3 day ET ( 3 7cell BBs) on 7/29. Today they called to say that none of my remaining 9 made it to blast stage so none were frozen for us. I'm pretty disappointed as I was hoping that our numbers ( 17 retrieved and 12 fertilized) would work in our favor. Now I'm terrified that the ones they transfered are already gone. Every once and a while I think I get a twinge in my stomach or around my ovaries, other times I think I'm making it all up.

I get to do the blood test next monday 8/10, but think I will go absolutely crazy in the week until then. When do most of you start HPTs? Should I be feeling anything right now?

Hi all and happy Monday to everyone. I went in for baseline this morning and my lining looked good..4.4. They said I had 22 small follies visable and now I'm just waiting for my E2 report in order to start Menopur tonight. Step kids(7 & 9) were with us this weekend and were bickering on and off all weekend. Went to church yesterday and prayed with the pastor. It felt really good and provided some hope. So, now I'm just waiting for that 3pm phone call and am very ready for the next step. No time for personals right now, but I hope everyone has a good day and stays positive with wherever they are at in this crazy journey.

I posted this question on the june/july board as well: Does the fact that embies don't make it to the freezing stage have any correlation w/ the ones that are transferred? My 1 didn't make it, but last time none did either and I had a BFP, even though it ended in a MC. I'm scared now....

Megan,

I am wondering the same thing. I am petrified that the ones inside me are going to die off like the others! My RE called me this morning and told me that the others in my batch had a high degree of fragmentation, disappointing, he said, for someone my age. However he assured me that the ones that were transfered were above average quality. He said that there is no correlation between the fragmented ones that didn't mature to freezing stage and the "viable" ones he implanted. From his mouth to god's ears.

Could this fragmentation be the reason we have MC'd all of our pregnancies? Does anyone have experience with this?

I have wondered the same thing. I had 2 perfect embies transferred but the other two did not make it to freezing. :( So i too was wondering whether this means that the ones that they transferred will also not take. Someone on this board and my RE told me that they transferred the two most viable ones and all that means is that these were the strongest. I believe in survival of the fittest. Also on my last fresh cycle, they transferred two and froze one. I got a BFN with the two but ended up with a BFP with the frozen 6 day embie. So i agree with the RE that there is no correlation. These are just the better ones that made it. Good luck both of u. I will go for my beta on thursday.

Julie Nurse-

The only information I was given about my mc was that it was not a chromosomal issue, which is a good thing. I'm glad your RE told you there is no correlation b/n the 2. That puts me at ease, a little bit.

wow! Not even 12 hrs away from the boards and SO much to catch up on!

MaryMegan no! haha! The chose the very best embie to put back inside of you so they were already better off then the ones left to progress. Also, it's proven that YOU are a much better incubator than the one in the lab. This is why some dr's do 3 day above 5 day. Some embies just can't do what they need to do outside of your body.

Faith 20 follies sounds GREAT! good luck starting that menopur tonight.

Julie you sound exactly like me. You want to think that those feelings are something, but then you talk yourself down. Maybe as nurses we try too hard to put these pieces together the way we *think* they should go :) PMA and patience dust to you!! Next week will be here so soon! And also, I'm not taking a HPT so I can't tell you when to do that but the longer you wait the better. Also, I asked about "feeling" things last week and got the basic response that- some people do...MOST people dont. You get cramps either way, you get pain either way, etc. etc. etc.

Beth- Dogz We're all about ready to go crazy over here!! We're waiting for your complete positiive BFP's!

Sunny Fighting with DH is never fun and it seems like me and mine are doing more and more of it! I think we are both so stressed, but like you, it often stems from things not getting done. I'm just used to doing so much and I'm limited on things right now. The first few days post ET he was so worried about me- didn't want me up walking, catered to me, etc. Then I think he got bored!!   Yesterday I finally just kind of went hormonal on him. I said I'm so tired of everything in this house being a mess and I hope he understood that I'm doing what I can, but I'm on "light duty" and my dr's orders specifically said "no housework". After that he cleaned up basically the whole house. But as my mother told me on the phone this morning "That always has been and always will be the way men work!" They care less than we do about the state of things around the house. It isn't that they do it on purpose, the thought just doesn't usually cross their mind.

Helen Will be thinking of ya today! good luck!!

Cheeky Im so sorry to hear your news. I'm so proud of you though! You have the BEST attitude!!!! You keep up that PMA girl!

AFM: Still going strong over here. BETA in less than 48 hours. I CAN MAKE IT! Still no symptoms except for gagging at the taste of meat, but that's been going on since I started my progesterone. No spotting, minor cramping. Last night I was talking about something and I must have said big because my husband said "speaking of big- your boobs are HUGE!" hahahah! I hadn't noticed and I still don't but he swears it HAAHA!
HAve a blessed day everyone!

hi girlies,

Cheekyone so sorry about your BFN esp. after you getting + tests, you go give your little dd a big hug and tell her that her bro/sis is waiting to be defrosted!! Please god next month xxx

Babiesgalore only 4 more sleeps!!!

lw918 glad to hear you are feeling better, not long now. Its normal to have ups and downs esp. with the amount of meds you have been on, keep up the PMA.

Helengb how did ET go??

Sunnygirl typical man!! I will admit j doesnt let me lift a finger when i am going thro. a cycle even when i am on meds but that was what we agreed on at the begining of all this. Just sit dh down and explain to him how you are feeling, you go and relax girl you deserve it.

Marymeganb: sorry to hear about your m/c i have been there too but what wont kill us will make us stronger. Good luck tomorrow i really hope a bfp is on your way xxx

Julienurse the best 2 embies are inside you where they belong, these are little fighters.

Beth I pray you had good news xxx

AFM nothing stirring, thanks girls for the AF dance i really want her to come tomorrow!!!! those meds are just teasing me now i wanna get started already...... patience is a virtue and believe me i have no patience. That wine turned out to be champagne instead and them bubbles were delicious i toasted to each and every one of my ivf buddies but hopefully it will be 10mths before i drink again
7th IVF finally our precious miracle girl Kayla born 24/11/10, 8th IVF FET Sept 2012 BFP!!!

Hey Everyone -

I hope that you all are are having a good day today. I will be when I'm done mowing the lawn. Yes, exciting, I know. Ok so tomorrow I go for the first u/s since the baseline, I'm feeling a little nervous that this will be like last month. I would be crushed to get cancelled again! Cross what you can for me, girls. I'm praying that changing the meds worked. Well I'll know tomorrow, I know that theres no sense in stressing it.

michele - any E2 news yet? I'm as eagar for your levels as you are

beth - thanks. I have all my fingers crossed today for your levels too. Hopefully they'll call soon. same goes to your cycle twin dogz

babies - hold on just a little longer, friday is coming, I know, not soon enough!

anissabug - Yes, I do have to drive every other day for monitoring, in good weather I dont mind so much, PA is pretty relaxing to drive through. I was never offered someplace local to be monitored & I never asked about it. Oh well too late now. So glad to hear that you're feeling bettter now. :D

jamie - congrats!!! :D

cheeky - I'm so sorry! I know how bad it makes you feel. It is wonderful to "hear" the strength in your posts, I know that next month is your time!!! We will still be here to root you on, my friend! (((hugs)))

sunny - Dh's have to be "house trained" sometimes, you know like when they just dont notice things out of place like we do. I never leave a room empty handed, But DH will walk straight past cups, glasses, newspapers, it never even crosses his mind to put them away. I've also wondered if this will continue with a baby, cause thats SO the wrong answer! You need to be taking it easy right now, even if it means the house goes upside down for 2 weeks. good luck!

marymegan / julienurse - Glad that you two came over here! fingers crossed for both of you!

faith -Sorry to hear about your delay, will be doing the suppresion dance for you too!

lw - You CAN do it!!!! we all have faith in you!!

HUGS & LOTS OF PMA TO ALL!!!!

Faith - don't worry hon, it'll come down!!! When I had my 1st e2 test, it came back at 120 (and my doctor said they want it under 70)!!!! My doctor doubled my lupron dose, and one week later it tanked to 44. Did your RE double your dose?

cheekyone- (((hugs))) I'm so sorry about your news, but your attitude is amazing and an inspiration.

lw - beta's almost here for you YAY!!!

sunnygirl - your frustration with DH and his lack of housework is par for the course for most men. Hang in there hon!!!

marymegan - WELCOME!!! Can't wait to hear your beta result tomorrow!!!

Julie - WELCOME to you too!!! As for HPT's, I know most ladies take them, but I did not. I was terrified of seeing a BFN and losing any hope. As for your embies, I echo what everyone else said. The ones that didn't make it have nothing to do with the ones they put in because they put in THE BEST!!! Throwing sticky dust your way!!!

gi - still doing the AF dance for ya!!!

beth - thinking of you constantly!!!!

AFM - Doctor should be calling within an hour if his normal call pattern stays true. I'm nervous as all get out.

Cheeky...I'm sorry to hear your news, but keep the PMA and keep the faith.

AFM...I am so excited!!! I had my first US since starting stims 4 days ago. I have 24 follicles/20 they measured. One was 14mm. The nurse said they disregarded those since it is so big so early. This explains why my insides feel so heavy! This is my first time doing this. Most of my follies are between 8 and 11 and I am on day 7. For all of you out there with experience...what is your guess on how many follies I will have at the time of ER and when you think ER would be? The nurse guesses Sunday through Tuesday.
If we have ER on Monday I need to do ET on Friday since I am doing a 5 day transfer. I am in a wedding on Friday!! Do you guys think that can be pulled off? I don't need to dance and will take it easy, but I would still need to walk down the isle, take pics and be on my feet a lot. I am so worried that's how it is all going to fall. I hope they could go early or late if we had to, but I guess that is not up to us.

lisa - you cannot be in that wedding if it happens that day. You need to be on bed rest that day and the next. Your follies sound great!!! I would think you would have at least 15, if not 20 from that batch!

Hi girls,

well im back from et and am lounging on the sofa being waited on hand and foot! :D

We had 2 embys transferred - one 10 cell and one 11 cell (that sounded pretty good to me for a 3 day transfer - but i have nothing to compare it to - what do you girls think?) . the other 2 embys were 7 cells and the embryologist said that they will give them till the end of the day to make it to 8 cells. If they make it to 8 then they will be frozen. So i would like to request some of your fabulous sticky dust please and just a little more encouragement for my other 2 embys to make it to 8 (im convinced the good vibes are working!!)!!!

As for the girls with the dh probs - i really think they dont mean to be rubbish!! Its as you say - they just dont 'see' the things we do round the house - and arguing is the last thing to be doing when you are supposed to be in a zen like state of calm and tranquility!! for two weeks - just take a deep breath and let it go!!

PMA to everyone - we can do this - we must all be very strong women to deal with what we do and carry on functioning in the world outside the IVF world  - just try and keep the faith and remember that we are not alone in this challenging time - as Gi says what doesnt kill us will DEFINITELY make us stronger!!!

Take care
