Hello

Post by Tara2009 »

Sari: Congrats on the boy! Have you started name hunting? DH and I have been digging into so many books and online sources for a good name for our baby girl, so far no luck. I want a name with a story or history behind it!!! For example the name "Florence" has the Florence nightingale story behind it and it is a historically popular name.

Cynthia: Hope you have a safe trip.

Ian: I am feeling lots and lots of movements. Busy girl :-)

Tara.

Hi Girls, Just wanted to post really quick and let you all know I had my anatomy scan yesterday and we are having a BOY! I think everything looks good. Our u/s tech was kinda on the serious side and not too forthcoming with any info which was annoying, but she did say everything looked fine. So we have to wait for our next OB visit next week to get all the details.
I was kinda hoping for a girl since we already have a son, but I'm so happy anyways! My son is excited to have a baby brother. :D

Sari, Congrats on your baby Boy! Now we have to think of some names! I can't wait to start working on the nursery now! :)

Hope everyone is doing good!!

Cynthia - I'm so sorry to hear you have to travel to Ft Wayne for a funeral. Nicole is right about going to Dupont Hospital if you have any problems. That's where I plan to deliver. Dr. Wheeler is another doctor you can ask for. He is a high risk perintologist for Women's Health Advantage.

Tara - DH and I have started thinking of names. We seem to like unusual names. I am using Ruby as a middle name for the girl after my Grandma and mom. The girl's first name will probably be Piper. For the boy, my husband came up with Ren Holliday. He watches a lot of movies and every name I've mentioned has come from a movie he's watched with the exception of Ruby. lol

Sari & Trying - Congrats on having a boy!

AFM - Everything is going good. I had a checkup with my doctor today. I go back in a month for another checkup and ultrasound. I may start getting more ultrasound because it's getting harder to hear both heartbeats on the doppler. They are beating just fine but the heartbeats are really similar and it's hard to tell which baby it belongs to. My doctor also said since i'm getting so tired he might make me work less in about a month. I can't really afford that right now, but I will do what I have to.

Trying: Congrats on the boy!!

I guess most of us are pretty much done with the anatomy scan already.

The next milestone for us is the Gestational Diabetes test. Is it done in the 24rth week. I heard that the solution that they make us drink is too sweet and some ladies get sick and vomit.

Tara.

Amy & Nicole, thanks so much for the hospital and doc suggestion!! Hopefully I won't have to visit there but it's good to know where I should go just in case :)

My last name is so long and dominate that we really wanted to go with short names. The boy's name will definitely be Chaz (we're thinking Aiden for the middle name). The girl's name changes every week but this week it's Nia. We wanted unique names but not TOO different...easy to spell and pronounce.

So far so good in Indy. I've felt some light kicks here and there but nothing major yet.

Have a great weekend everyone!

Trying, congrats with the boy!! My u/s Tech for my anatomy scan as the exact same way. She hardly spoke at all...nothing like my usual tech. I was very disappointed with the lack of details.

I'm back home! Luckily I didn't have any issues while in Indy (other than the same old constipation, which I nixed with some Colace). I have an appt to finish up my anatomy scan tomorrow morning and I can't wait to see how the babies are doing!

Nicole, DH and I were laying in bed at the hotel Saturday morning and I could feel one of the babies moving around a bit. I told him to place his hand over where I was feeling the kicks and the baby actually kicked his hand twice!! Although they were really light he was able to feel them and DH's eyes lit up like a Christmas tree, lol! It was so sweet and cute.

I have been feeling movement more and more over the past few days. FINALLY! :D A few times I even felt what felt like a spasm. Has anyone else felt a kick or punch that hard?? The first time it caught me off guard and I actually yelled "ouch" although it didn't hurt just felt funny and kind of tickled  . It has happened about 3 other times since then. Could this be the baby or an actual muscle spasm??

Hi Ladies, long time no post, I've been so busy but reading your posts

Sari- congrats on your boy!!!! For boys names i like Daniel, Damian, Sebastian, Alex. Did you come up with anything yet?

ianmichael3- how are you doing?

Tara2009- Maybe you like Francine? close to Florence, I also had a friend named Florencia just a thought :D I had the test for Gestational diabetes when i was 14 weeks becuse I'm somewhat insulin resitant. its not that bad, just tastes like an old Fanta with double the sugar. You have to drink it pretty quick so it will be over before you know it.

Trying for another Angel- Congrats on a boy!!! I'm glad everything is good with you and the baby :)

cymplicity27- I'm so glad your trip was uneventfull :D are you still on bedrest? I'm so happy you'r DH felt the baby. Every time mine places the hand to feel the baby it stops kicking! lol

AFM everything is going good so far. We'r going for our level 2 scan next week so I hope the baby will show us the goods! Last time it crossed its legs  I swear I won't leave till I find out lol I'm feeling kicking its not alot in a day but I think they'r getting stronger and more week by week hopefully they'll really increase within next week or two. Ok g2g take care ladies!

Hi everyone:

Cynthia - I am happy everything is allright. I've been feeling lot of movements too and some kind of palpitations, like kicking.

dys - I like the name Daniel too, but with a variation. Maybe we are going to name him Dariel, but were are looking other names. So, if any of you have other idea, we are waiting to hear it.

Have a beautiful name,

Sari

Books

Post by Tara2009 »

Ladies,

Are you all reading any books on pregnancy? Couple of my friends recommended "What to expect when you are expecting" but when I read the reviews about this book, there are lots of negative reviews saying poeple freaked out after reading this book since everything in this book scares you.

So are there other books? More than me, DH wants to read a good book!

Also, we are closing in on some names! Will decide one soon.

Tara

Tara, I have What to Expect When You're Expecting. I like the book. It doesn't scare me at all. Probably because I've experienced some of the things in the complications section so it's only been helpful. And that's a section at the back of the book so you don't even have to read that if you don't want. Other than that, I read the monthly sections when I'm approaching that particular month and then it has it broken down as to what to expect weekly. My husband never reads it but if he catches me reading it he'll ask me to read some aloud.

I only got good reviews from friends before buying it. Never heard of it scaring anyone. Most of the book seems pretty upbeat to me. I wonder if you can check it out at the library?

Yeah I also have the book "What to Expect when Expecting". I think it's a great book and has probably saved me from being scared. When something is bothering me, I just look it up in the book and find out what it is. I would recommend the book to anyone. I enjoy it!
I also have a Mayo Clinic Guide to Pregnancy, which my insurance company sent me. It's a good book too.
Hope this helps!
Take care everyone!!

Has anyone else had a problem with sending PMs? Mine seem to get stuck in my outbox and never send. I'm not sure how to contact site admin about it either.
