july/aug cycle

Post by ladybug09 »

Hi all,
I'm new on this site. I started my 1st cycle, and now am on my stim shots, I should be retreiving next week fri or the following mon. Im so nervous I want all to go well. Im still on Lupron but lowered my dose. I had hotflashes and moodswings with that. Im not looking forward to the PIO shots, im am so scared. Im barely tolerating the sub q shots. Is there anyway to prep myself for ER and how can I make the PIO shots not hurt as much. Any advice im open to all. Thanks, Jessica

Hello everyone!

I'm still doing the happy dance, then I read babies post & I'm over the top!! :D

babies - OMG!!! I cant even say how excited I am for you!!! I think maybe twins? This is so incredible!!! :D With everything that you have been through , this is a shining moment!! Are you going for a 2nd beta ? You have been such a caring cycle buddy, I just want you to know how appreciated you are!! Soooo HAPPY for you! - xoxo

ray of sunshine - I'm still crossed for you, both fingers & toes! I hope they let you know soon!

lw - CONGRATS!!! fingers crossed for your beta tomorrow! :D

faith - what's a "german " protocol consist of? I have never even heard of that before - I'm hoping for your E2 to decrease!

miyaya - i hope that your surgery went well today & that you are resting up - hugs

sunny - my Re just does a beta, although maybe if its + they do more b/w ? Not sure because I've never been + but I sure hope to find out! How is DH holding up? Has he changed his take on housework yet? Yes, it IS harder than it looks! - he he

babydust - I've got my fingers crossed for you too. I know the feeling well, unfortunately. I'll say a prayer for you. What is your protocol now? -hugs

cressica - GL with your ER tom. I think that after ER just tylenol was enough for me, and I'm a baby about pain. They have you take valium before ET because when they place the embies with catheter the uterus will quiver, RE said that valium helps it to not quiver when bumped.

helen - You are a riot!! thanks, hon - we all need a little levity around here

dogz - you know helen is right! hope you are having a better day today -hugs

marymegan - YAY! Pregnant!!!! Congrats!! :D

sportsmom - So happy to hear! perfect numbers & perfect lining!

I am hopeful - the stimming part actually passes quickly because they keep you so busy with all that monitoring! Sending you some patience dust! Lord knows I need some myself too!

michele -How are things going with you? When do you go for your supp. check?

AFM - next b/w & u/s is on Sat. honestly I'm just happy to still be in the game. If I missed anyone, you are all in my thoughts & prayers! xoxo

ladybug09 - I am a newbie so I am not sure but I have been on the progestrone suppositories vs. the shots...is it the same thing? The suppositories are no treat but I guess I can say it is a nice break from the needle! Wishing you the best!

Hi Iamhopeful,
Im not sure if there is a difference between the suppositories vs the shots, my dr told me the shot is more effective but I guess it's different for everyone and their dr. Im still getting familiar with all these abbreviations but I'm 24, DH is 26, im fine but he has low sperm count, im also a shared donor, i was on lurpon 10u until I start my stims Menopur, and follistim today so im on Lupron 5u now, I go for my b/w and u/s on sunday they said they wanted to monitor me often so I dont hyperstimulate. Its been a long road but things are finally falling into place. I pray all goes well with you, and wishing you all the best, Thanks for the fast response, I feel better knowing there are people who take time out to answer questions and can relate to me. Thanks so much

ladybug09 - I had never heard of the shared donor before I joined this board, I think that is GREAT! With me being 39, I don't think anyone is worried about me over stimulating, but we will see! I am on my 10th day of lurpon 10u and start my stims tomorrow, so I am one day behind you! I will be taking Menopur, and Bravelle and keep the lupron at 10u. I go for my b/w and u/s on Wednesday of next week - which seems like a long wait for me. This is certainly a ride and I am glad I found some friends to join me along the way! Wishing you the best also, and will be checking back in with you!

hey everyone.

ladybug- welcome to the boards. You will find a lot of answers and support here. My RE says no difference in success between shots and suppositories for progesterone. I have always used crinone gel myself.

katie- my next suppression check is on tuesday. I don't expect it to be good yet, but who knows, maybe the double dose will do the trick. So happy to hear you are not cancelled and everything is looking good.

fitz- I take my lupron between 9 and 11 every night. I do the shot on my front upper right thigh, sometimes I switch to my left depending on if I can find a bruise-free spot on my right. I have quite a few bruises, and some pretty bad headaches, but nothing I can't deal with.

tryn- I don't see why you couldn't get a massage before transfer, maybe tell the massuese to stay away from the belly since you are porbably bloated, but I don;t think it would do any harm...but ask RE if you are unsure.

babies- congrats! I am soooo happy for you and that is a nice strong number. It is a high number but how high depends on how many days past ovulation/transfer you were. When was your retreival and transfer? Then I can analyze your numbers. When do you go for beta #2?

Iamhopeful- welcome to you too.

If any of the newbies would like me to add you to our list, please just post and tell me your dates, or tentative dates for stim start, ER/ET or FET and I will gladly add you. Thanks.

Iamhopeful,
A shared donor is someone who needs ivf and donates their eggs also. Basically IVF is very very expensive and a financial strain and Im donating half of my eggs and in return the other couples pay for my entire IVF process. I put up maybe a few hundred dollars for some testing but the majority is covered. But if I get an odd number of eggs lets say 15 she gets 8 and I get 7 the couple always gets the extra egg. We basically are helping eachother get the best gift in life. I was blessed to be chosen as a donor within like a week. I always thought about egg donation and when I ran into this problem of having kids naturally it was the best thig to do. I hope I didnt confuse you.
My 1st Menopur was this morning and it hurt more than the Lupron shot, I dont know how I'm going to deal with the PIO shots. But we will see... Glad I found you on here so also this is something we need a support group for.

CT_Michele- I will definetly ask my dr about the suppositories because that would be great for me because I hate shots and they said I would be on it for 10 to 12 weeks after a positive preg test.

Thank you everyone. Of course i am still in shock. I go in for my 2nd beta on Monday.

Katie: I am so glad that u did not get cancelled. I knew it. Here is to a great u/s and b/w results on saturday.

Michelle: I had my ET on 7/25. It was a 5day transfer. I would love to know whether this could possibly mean twins. How are u doing? Good luck with the monitoring next week.

Ladybug: i agree with Michelle. My RE said that the clinic did extensive research and found no difference between the two. I for one found the suppositories much easier and i put on less weight.

Johannanita: thanks! Even i was shocked at the number and asked the RE if it was normal. Apparently it is so will see.

Everyone else with betas coming up next week sending u loads of positive vibes. Those in stims doing the grow follies dance for u.

Hi ladies, not a lot of time for personals but had to say congrats to our newest BFP's Liana, Lw and Babies!!!!!! Congratratulations, all of your numbers sound fantastic. Praying for one (or more!) beautiful healthy angels for you both!!!!

Katie: SOOOOO happy your weren't canceled!!!! I had a good feeling about you this morning.....

AFM: Loosing my mind. Truely. I woke up at 4am and convinced myself that this was over, that I couldn't possibly be pregnant. I started hysterically crying (I'm not sure how I even had the energy at that time of morning!) and woke up DH who can't understand how I can be so sure. He keeps asking me: what do you want? a telegram from baby saying its still there? (YES!). I don't know. Have had a bad feeling for days now. I feel like I just spent 10 grand on a loosing hand of poker..... After all the tears were over I stayed up obsessing until 7am and had to work from 8-8pm. I'm tired and miserable (and still at work). Sorry to put this negativity out there when we all have so much to collectively be thankful for today. I think sometimes its easier to talk to all of you rather than DH, who frankly, is up to here with my emotional roller coaster.

Babies- Congrats on your BFP? How many embies did you transfer? My beta with my first pregnancy was also high at 950 10dpt. I ended up pg with triplets (3 embies transferred), sadly 2 of them died, BUT i have my beautiful daughter as a result of that pregnancy.

My ER seems to be set for next Wed. I had about 10 follicles in each ovary over 11mm so it should be a good harvest.

Good luck to everyone else.

babies- How excited are you! CONGRATULATIONS! three in a row is good karma or something! Enjoy your day and celebrate!

katie99-so happy you were not canceled! YEY!

ladybug & iamhopeful- welcome!

julie nurse- okay, i think you are freaking out because the closer we get the scarier it becomes. i thought the SAME thing the other day. i was like, "who am i kidding? i'm 40 and we practically just spent our life savings!" also, now that there are so many positives on the board it is intimidating....like we are due for some negatives.
BUT YOU AND I WILL NOT FALL PREY TO THE NEGATIVITY! No, No, No!:x
we will keep talking to those babies! you're the one who got me started on that!! (when i told my dh i started talking to my emby babies he looked at me like i was doing drugs or something...ha, ha yeah, i am.....progesterone AND estrogen!) seriously, ever since you told me to do that it has made me feel better and my dh is buying into it big time! it's been fun:) hang in there and don't get discouraged, okay? i have no symptoms, so i feel a little lost too....but we are in this together! it's GOT to be worth it, right?

No time to post to everyone tonight...but i am thinking of you all! have a great night and i am blowing a little Vermont baby dust your way!
