I had my 3 day transfer on (wed) 7/29. I've been having abdominal twinges for several days. Had small amount of BROWN spotting day 7 & 8 post transfer. Yesterday (day 9) I took a short walk, and returned to a one time episode of slightly larger amount of dark redish bleeding that completely stoped for the rest of the night. I called nursing call center and they had me double the number of progesterone suppositories I am taking. This morning I also have a slightly larger amount of dark redish bleeding though definitely not as red or heavy as my period....yet.
Is this normal?!?! One side note, I was nauseous all day yesterday and threw up twice, and felt quite dizzy the rest of the day. Could that be the progesterone?

It's pretty common. This is not something I have studied, but I know my clinic usually tells patients not to worry much about brown spotting. They are more concerned about red.
But you should inform your clinic, as you are in their care.
Are you on an estradiol supplements?

Avoid IVF and surrogacy in Ukraine. Ukrainian centers pay shills to post here under numerous sock accounts pretending to be patients in Ukraine. Centers using such deceptive advertising cannot be trusted and should be avoided.
Hi Julie - I had my 5 day transfer on the 29th and 8 days past I woke with cramps and red blood when I used the restroom. I called my clinic and they said while it is common to have bleeding, as it may be implantation bleeding, they put me on bed rest for that day and moved my beta up to yesterday, 9 days post transfer. I was so scared, but it came back positive! I'm still having spotting, but it is brownish and I've now had 4 different nurses tell me it is common BUT take it easy. I go back for my second beta on Monday.
My advice, take it easy and try not to stress, I know it is hard, as I have trouble taking that advice myself, but try ... get a good book and lay in bed/on couch and read the day away Sending you lots of PMA!

It is turning more red!
I have heard (and read) that spotting is more common without supplemental estradiol.
Perhaps you could see if your clinic would prescribe it?
There seems to be little evidence that supplemental estradiol is necessary for the pregnancy, however.

I wasn't bleeding like a normal period, only when I used the restroom. It was red on Thursday, stopped Friday morning, back Friday afternoon. Today it is more brown. I've simply been taking it easy and am hoping for the best.
Hi Julie and HopefulinSD,
I know exactly what you're going through. I'm 8dp3dt and I had some brownish spotting yesterday and some red spotting today. My clinic isn't open nor does it have an emergency number and It's stressing me out. I think I'll lay low the rest of the weekend and just wait until my BETA test on Tuesday. I sent my hubby to get some hpt's.
Sounds like all three of us are in almost the same place in our cycle and experiencing about the same symptoms. I got confirmation that I am pregnant, with a strong beta 220, so I'm hoping the same for both of you! PMA, PMA, PMA.
Tortilla, I think we cycled together last year at about the same time ... I think we were on the same thread back then. Mine ended with no heartbeat and I believe yours was a chemical. Here's to hoping the outcome is better for both of us this time Let me know how your HPT's go if you decide to do it. I was going back and forth as to if I should and then they called me in for my beta early Luckily it was a positive!
Hi Hopeful! Yes I think we did cycle together last year. I had to take some time off and just regroup after getting another negative. I'm hoping that this time around ends in a BFP that sticks. Congrats to you!!!
I hear you Tortilla, after we didn't find a heartbeat last Aug we were very heartbroken and didn't start our next cycle until Jan. When that one didn't work we transferred to a new doctor. I found out my cousin had done IVF and she referred me to my current doctor.
So, now I'm bleeding.....heavily. AF is definitely here. Took a HPT so DH would let me drink wine, and it say pregnant. What is going on? This is not spotting, I've saturated an overnight pad. Its bright red.
Julie nurse,
Take a deep breath and call your doctor. From what has been said on the posts I've read that this has happened to a lot of women. Go lie down and take it easy. I'm thinking of you sending you a hug!
Hi Julie - I had to laugh when you said you took the test so DH would let you drink wine. If it says you are pregnant, you more than likely are! The nurse who drew my blood for the beta told me some women bleed throughout their pregnancy. She told me bleeding is common with IVF. What HPT did you use?
Tortilla and I must have been posting at the same time
I agree with her, call your doctor, there should be a doctor on call. I also agree with her other advice, take a deep breath and lay down. I know you want to think the worst but you need to have a PMA, especially with a positive HPT. Sending hugs!
