kutekelli- I'd just echo everything Cynthia said... When you say cramping I equate that to pain. BH aren't necessarily painful, but uncomfortable for me. Strong ones feel like they take my breath away!

Hi Everyone! Hope all of you are doing good.

Dys- hope you got to find out what you are having! Let us know :D

Ianmichael- Do BH feel just like menstral cramps? I'm not sure if I've had any, but at times I get that feeling like I want to start my AF so not sure if that is a BH? I know what you mean about being emotional. Lately I feel like I could cry over anything. It's so not like me.

At my last dr. visit they told me I have a Marginal Placenta Previa which means that my placenta is covering just a small portion of my cervix. I have been feeling alot of pelvic pressure in the last few weeks so I guess this is the reason. My dr. doesn't seem to be worried. She said most of the time this problem corrects itself. They will just do another u/s around 32 weeks to see if it gets better. I guess it should move up as I get bigger. Has anyone else heard of this?
I'm not sure if this is related but today I'm feeling so much pressure, but more in my rectal area (sorry for TMI). When I'm at work and sitting for ahwile, then I get up it really hurts. I'm not having any kind of bowel issues or anything. maybe the baby is just pushing on that area?

Trying -
I also have placenta previa too... Mine is totally covering my cervix. I try not to worry (my doc said not to worry) but it's hard not to! There seems to be a lot of us IVF gals with some previa. So, I looked it up on the net and sure enough found some articles that said IVF makes you six times more likely to have placenta previa.
Anyway, if the placenta is just covering a small part of your cervix, I think you have nothing to worry about...it should probably correct itself.

aims hasn't been on much lately but she also has placenta previa. So it's definitely common and you're not alone! I'm sure you'll be just fine

trying: My BH's don't feel like cramps- no pain at all, so the fact that you're experiencing pain and all, I'd go on the safe side and just call your doc's office and talk to a nurse for a little bit about how you're feeling. We all worked too hard to get here to WRACK our poor little brains over this stuff, ya know! They should be more than happy to talk to you and give you some advice.

AFM: I have the same pressure in my butt, etc when I have been sitting for awhile- I think it's just the added weight of our babies down there- but whenever I get up and walk around a little bit, it slowly goes away :) Hope yours does too!

And last night I stretched, and I mean I really did a full body stretch................... today, I'm so sore in my tummy! I think I might have pulled some ligaments!!

Same here trying. No pain or cramping with my b-h contractions.

Nicole, every time I try to stretch I get this weird sensation in my belly so I stop. It's probably just me being paranoid that I'm going to pull or hurt something. I have to bend and stretch my legs a lot at night from the hip pain! I told DH last night that I would never take sleeping comfortably for granted ever again! For the first time in my life now I don't look forward to cozying up in bed :( Its always a chore!

How has ligament pain been for everyone? Mine comes and goes I guess as my belly grows. I was in the car the other day when this sharp pain hit my left side and I was really nervous because it lasted about 4 mins or so. We were in the parking lot and DH even said "if you want to go to the emergency room, just say the word"! Well it completely went away and I was fine afterwards. I've been getting them all along but this one seemed a little more painful and I hadn't had any in quite awhile so it caught me off guard.

Hello

Post by Tara2009 »

Hi all ladies,

Good to know that everybody is doing great. I had my regular OB appointment yesterday and I was told everything was normal. Baby's heart beat was 160. I got worried at first because I thought it is too much at this stage, but doctor said it is normal.

I am supposed to take the glucose test during my next OB visit which is in 4 weeks. They gave me a bottle of the glucose solution which looks like orange soda. I have to drink the whole bottle 45 minutes before the appointment. I am hoping I won't contract gestational diabetes. Lets see.

Regarding B-H contractions, I don't get them often...felt them only rarely in the past 2 weeks - may be 1 or 2 times, but my belly felt like a hard rock and it was so uncomfortable.

I gained about 8 pounds so far.

Cynthia - I did get the book 'What to expect...' and I like it very much. Very good to read. Your bump is so cute. Mine is also as big as yours.

I bought some very nice maternity clothes from motherhood. Their 'secret belly' jeans is sooooooooo comfortable. I love wearing them.

Tara.

Sometimes I wish this board had a live feed :)

Cynthia: that pain sounds exactly like the ligament pain, which I'd guess is going to plague you since you're teeny tiny body is trying to accomodate two little ones! Sleep will come again, before you know it!

Tara: 8 lbs is really awesome! I think I've gained 10-12.

Hi Ladies!

I went for my level 2 scan and ITS A GIRL!!!! Both doctors said 99.9% :D :D
She's measuring little big but is 14 oz and everything looks great with her HB was 167.

AFM my cervix shortened to 2.7 and they put me on bedrest for the rest of this week. They said its not horrible but its on the shorter side. I have to go back next week to re-check it and if it shortens its going to be bedrest for me for the rest of the pregnancy. Other than that everything is ok feeling her kick so much now everyday. I hope my cervix stays or gets longer so I can work. I'm sitting at home and it drives me crazy! Doctor said no shopping, sex, lifting for the rest of the pregnancy   Oh and
I've finally gained 1lb lol

Sorry no personals but I'm just emotionally/physically exhausted. Take care ladies!

Oh dys, I hope your cervix holds up for you! Unfortunately I've become more experienced in that area than I'd ever hope to be. I was at 2.7 cm in week 16 when my Ob started to worry just a little. Unfortunately mine just kept going down from there. I'm praying you get better results! The good thing is that they are monitoring it now. I hear to often that it can go unnoticed especially with singletons because cervical length isn't monitored as often. Did they mention the possibility of a cerclage if it does shorten anymore?

As far as bed rest, you'd think I'd be on strict bed rest considering my cervix completely gave way and I started to dilate in week 17 but they placed the cerclage and told me to go on modified bed rest. I've been told similar things, no sex, shopping, etc. But I can move about the house and I've left the house occasionally with DH to go to dinner, movies or anywhere where I can sit but not stay too long. Not to mention the 11 hour car ride to Indiana, LOL! I think I'd go crazy on strict bed rest and pray it never comes to that! Anyway, I think I'm going to be out of work for the remainder of the year and that sucks! But what can we do? It's all for the babies :)

Dys- Congrats on a Girl! That will be hard no sex for the remainder of pregnancy! Good luck :D I wish I could be off work...of course I don't want any complications or to be on strict bed rest, but would I love to be off work for the rest of this pregnancy. LOL!
Wow you only gained 1lb! I think I have gained about 8-9 lbs. so far.

Do any of you watch "Deliver Me"? I think it's on discovery heath channel or something like that. One of the doctor's on there is pregnant and has a complete previa and they have her on bed rest and seem all freaked out over it. So I guess that got me more worried than probably needed.

Well no pelvic pressure yet today so that's good I guess! the cramps I have had aren't really bad and only last a few seconds. I have mentioned them to my dr. already and they didn't seem concerned so I guess they were normal.

Thank you all for your congrats and wishes!!! Its so wonderful to have such supportive group of ladies! :D

cymplicity27- at 16weeks it was 3.3 for me so in 4.5 weeks it went down 6mm. However, i was very active with lots of shopping, malls, walking etc. They said that could be the reason but it could be that its just starting to shorten anyway. So they will re-check it in a week and if it does shorten they will give me options putting the cerclage and or bedrest. The only thing i they said at this point in the pregnancy its dangerous to put in the cerclage because it can brake your water. I hope i wont have to face dealing with that decision but we'll see next week. The doctor said i dont need to be out of work yet but said if it makes me feel better she can discharge me from work for this week which i thought will be a good idea since I'm so stressed! But she said they will check me lot from now on to see how the cervix is even if it stays or gets better so i'm happy I'm going to be looked at carefully now. Do they check yours now often? Do you mind sharing what length it is now? urghhhhhh its so hard to deal with this especially since we all wanted these babies sooo much.

Trying for another Angel- hehe i dont mind the no sex part honestly lol. i'm so stressed from this that i would be scared out of my mind when doing it anyway lol I just hope it doesnt worsen but time will only tell. I thought i gained like 5 lbs because i got really big in the past 4 weeks when i stepped on the scale and they said 1lb i was shocked! But I'm overweight anyway so I dont need to gain much :D

dys24, I didn't care about the no sex part at first but here lately I've started to miss it just a little, LOL! I was also told about the risk of the cerclage. My doc was actually on the fence and left it up to us. At this time my length was around .9 cm. For whatever reason DH was adamant about me getting one and convinced me to do it...so glad he did. I called the doctor and set up the appt. When they went in to stitch me up they found I had started to dilate .5cm in those 2 days! So for me it was a life saver and I didn't have a choice. I was told there was a 1% chance they would break my water with placing the cerclage. Obviously the risk of me walking out of there with an open cervix greatly outweighed that 1% risk. Mine shortened drastically in a short period of time, from 3.7 to open in 2 weeks. Sounds like yours has been slower and bed rest may be all you need to stop it. Currently my length is around .9 - 1 cm. I've had it checked about 3 times since then...about every other week and it's been holding steady. Oh, they also put me on progesterone suppositories, 200 mg once at night. It's suppose to help strengthen/thicken the cervix. Some women get it in the form of a weekly shot. I'm sure they'll bring that up to. If not ask them about it!
