Hi All! I'm new on this site, so please forgive me if I haven't followed proper ettiquette.
Let me share my story:
I am 29, diagnosed with PCOS in Dec 08. Since then I've had 4 Clomid cycles, all without ovulation. At the beginning of the month I was put on Bravelle for an IUI cycle, but for the first 7 days it did nothing. So my dosage was doubled for 3 days, and now it looks like I have way too many 10mm+ follicles. So I just found out today that I will probably be converted to IVF instead. I guess good?
Depending on what my E2 was from today, I may be increasing my dose of Bravelle, and taking HcG on Wednesday for retrieval Friday. My doctor also wants me on bedrest for 3 days after transfer, which is a little problematic since I start school on Tuesday (I teach HS)...
I also had a Vegas trip planned for this weekend that I'm going to have to cancel (don't know yet how to explain, since I haven't shared I'm undergoing infertility treatment). But I won't know until Wednesday what the rest will look like.
So that's my story. I'm trying to be positive without being overly optimistic, as I don't want to feel so disappointed if this doesn't work out.
Hey Everyone - After not remembering any mood swings during my last cycle, I about bit off DH's head yesterday and took out a few people at Target....and I'm only on BCP. LOL. Lord help me. I have another acronym to share. I can't take credit for this one, but on my previous board, we called the b/w & u/s a "stick and stir". I LMAO at that one and can't walk into RE's office without thining about it still. After a while, you just have to laugh at this whole process.
shelby - Good for you!!!! You might be starting your kids into the medical profession. I think it's awesome that everyone is pitching in.
Lady_J - Oh, I know why you're sad. In our 5 1/2 year journey before my DD was born, I was extremely sad, and probably clinically depressed for the last 2 years before we became pregnant. I was so miserable. I totally understand. Hang in there!! Baby dust to you!!
miyaya - I bet we'll be on the same schedule. I won't start Lupron until 9/8.
cheryl and mjay - Grow follies grow!!!!!!
dtao - Welcome to the board and to the IVF roller coaster! I also have PCOS and did 5 Clomid cycles w/out ovulation. IVF #1 worked for us! I also put myself on bedrest for 3 days after the transfer. I just felt like I should. Sorry that you have to cancel your trip. Hopefully it will all be worth it in the end.
Baby dust to all!!!

Some of us are old pros and some are newbies like yourself, but we are all here to help each other. So fire away with any questions, concerns, or just sharing the good stuff. Glad to have ya!

Thanks Shelby! So nice to know people are thinking of me. Sorry I haven't posted much, the site is sdtill acting funny on my computer and I have been busy trying to get ready for Ella's party this upcoming weekend. I have been reading everyday and thinking of you all. I am not sure how much I will be able to post in the next week or so, lots of plans coming up. DH is on vacation at 2 today for the next week and a half, we go to the Mets game tomorrow (That was his father's day gift), and then my brother is coming in from out of state for Ella's big bash this weekend. I am making all hawaiian recipes pretty much all day friday and saturday. Looks like we are expecting a lot of people, probably as low as 50, but up to 100.
I went for my bw this morning, before dh left for work while ella was still sleeping. It is supposed to be wicked hot today, so I wanted to go early instead of having to pack the baby up in the heat. Just bw today, no u/s, so I just had to drive down the street instead of to the clinic. And they said they ordered it STAT today...yay, so I should get numbers this afternoon. I really don't expect them to be good, RE had said he expects af to come in 2 weeks or so and after that is when I will supress, but we shall see, a girl can still hope!
When dh was making my lupron shot last night, he made a comment that the lupron looked carbonated. I started laughing and said, "Oh, so that's why it's not working, I have been injecting soda into my thigh for the past 2 months!"
Shelby- you brag all you want about those stepkids...they sound awesome!
katie- glad to see you got your schedule...you know I am routing for you girl!
cheryl- congrats on starting stims...how exciting!
lady j- I will put my dancing shoes back on and do a little af jig for you.
welcome to all our new ladies, and lots of baby dust for everyone. Sorry I missed many of you, but I just heard princess Ella waking up at 9! People get so mad when I tell them how late she sleeps, guess I am pretty lucky!

OMG, I haven't been able to log in for a few days! I can read all the posts but couldn't respond. I don't have much time to post since I'm back to work this week. I am so excited that this site isn't blocked by my districts firewall!
Welcome to all the newbies to this board! We are all hoping for big BFP's all around...lots of babies to come!
Cheryl - WOW, ER next week! It looks like you'll be leading us off!
Dtao - welcome! A possible ER on friday, huh! That's great. I know how hard it is to take some time off at the beginning of the school year. We started back yesterday. Is your RE office planning a 3 or 5 day transfer? Hopefully it will fall on a friday and you will only need to take one day off and can get back to school on Monday.
AFM, not much new here. I go in tomorrow for my first b/w and u/s or ("stick and stir") as J&C said! (I love that BW) I spoke with my principal yesterday and she was great and very understanding. She said she really appreciated my honestly. Hopefully this FET will give me my BFP and I won't have to go in and tell her I'll need more time for a fresh cycle!
Well girls, my e2 did go down to 86 today, I honestly don't know what to think or what it means. Yes, it is much lower than the last 2 weeks, but still not low enough. It is also still higher than numbers I have gotten at a first check when my body should be fully supressed. The clinic wants me to go for bw on Monday morning and they sound optomistic, like Monday might be the day, but I won't believe it until I see it, and if I do get lucky on Monday and the e2 drops below 50, then I will most likely get a schedule from RE...whoknows, with enough luck I may still be a September cycler after all!

Thanks for being so nice to me ladies. Yesterday's E2 came back as 3300, so I am off meds now. At risk for OHSS, I was told. Been having stomach issues, which I didn't realize was related to the Bravelle, but last night it was so painful it woke me up at 3am. Good thing no more meds. Got more blood drawn this morning, and u/s tomorrow, so we'll see. I hate not knowing when things will be happening.
Vegas has been put on hold. In fact, my doctor doesn't even want me to go until he does a pregnancy test. I called the hotel today, but unfortunately, I still haven't been able to figure out how to explain why I can't go.
So next Tuesay-Thursday are teachers' days back to school, and the 31st will be the first day of class. I am pretty confident that I won't be missing that crucial first day with students, but likely I will be missing some or all of the teachers' days. How important is it that I do absolutely nothing for 3 days after the transfer? I've read that some clinics just say to take it easy the day of.
dtoa- I don't think you would need 3 whole days off after transfer. My first transfer, I went back to work the next day (I am a teacher too). My last transfer, I had the weekend to recoup. My clinic says to take the day of transfer like a "snow day." Chill on the coach and watch a movie, but they said I could resume normal activities the day after, nothing strenuous of course. I don't think that teacher days would be too bad...but that is all up to you and maybe ask your dr about it and what they think.

I went for bw today also becasue I still have no AF since m/c almost 8 weeks ago. RE wanted to induce to to try to keep me on schedule. But my bw came back to say that I did ovulate so I just have to wait. I am kinda relieved becasue I would rather have it come naturally, Im so sick of having meds to do everything...I feel like my body can it it on its own. So that was good news for me. Looks like I will start meds mid October with an ER at the end of Oct.

Hey ladies! - Forgive me, I'm still trying to catch up from last week. I was camping all weekend and we also went to Holiday World, so I've been away for a few days. We are also leaving for vacation again Friday, returning Tuesday, then I am gone again next weekend DH is trying to cram in as many activities as possible before the lupron, I think. I posted a question on carrying lupron on a plane if anyone has any advice.
Not a lot of time for personals this morning, but I wanted to say hi to the newcomers and welcome to the board no matter what reason you are doing IVF.
shelbyrn - You are much braver than I am letting kids stick you with needles!!! They sound like good kids, though.
michele - I hope you make it for the September cycle after all!
neffi - Good to see you again - I know what you mean about just wanting your body to do things for itself again.
AFM - Still on bcps and antibiotics. The days are going by fast. I'm a lot less anxious with this cycle. Maybe it is because I already know what to expect and it's not so scary this time.
