cymplicity27- oh wow it seems like it really was a life saver for you! My ob said if i go down to 2cm thats when they ask if you want the stich or not, but we will see. Thank you so much about all the information it is so helpful so I'll be prepared when I go in next wednesday to ask them about the progesterone supplements. They told me they will check me every 2 weeks too after this one week wait unless it will shorten alot, so its seems like we would be on the same routine. Thanks again for all your valuable info! I'll sure keep you updated.

Hi Everyone! Sorry it's been so long since I've posted. I've been keeping up with everyone's posts though. Everything has been ok with me. I've just been really tired and emotional. My poor DH doesn't know what to think. I'm either crying or mad. lol Sleeping has become a dreaded nightly ritual. I have so much hip pain from sleeping on my side. It seems to ease up once I get up in the morning, but then the tail bone pain starts. lol. It will all be worth though when I hold these two babies. The babies are really kicking now. It's weird to see my stomach move when they kicks. DH can't get use to the idea of feeling them move or seeing my stomach move. It "creeps" him out. He has also seemed distant to me which hasn't help my emotional state. I think the no sex part is starting to get to me too.

dys - Congrats on a girl!! :D I hope your cervical length gets better after some rest. Try not to get to stressed. Easier said than done I know!

Tara - Good luck on your glucose test. I'm dreading that test. I had that during all the fertility testing and I hated the orange drink. I haven't been able to drink orange pop since. I'm glad you mentioned the 'secret belly' jeans from Motherhood. I'm going to that store next week to get some clothes. I'll have to look for those.

Trying - Sorry to hear you have marginal placenta previa. Like cymplicity said, I have it to. My doctor discovered it when I kept spotting. I was also told it would probably correct itself. I haven't had any spotting for at least 8 weeks and the doctor hasn't mentioned it, so I'm hoping it has corrected. I have my next ultrasound and doctor's appointment August 31st, so I plan on asking about it again then. Try not to worry about it too much.

aims I feel your pain with the sleeping thing. The hip pain is ridiculous! I haven't experienced the tailbone pain yet but I'm right behind you so I'm sure it's coming :? I've been thinking about the sex thing too. I mean I'm not horny out of my mind, LOL, but I do miss being intimate with DH and I hate that he has to go without it for so long too.

I have my glucose test in 2 weeks. Fun fun!

cymplicity - The tailbone pain started this week. I mostly have problems at work when I sit for long periods of time. I'm starting to think I'll have to get a donut pillow. Not being initmate with DH is what I miss too. The bigger I get, the more distant he gets. I think it's because it's becoming more of a reality and he's getting scared. And my emotional roller doesn't help. I take his distance though as not being attracted to me.

Have you started feeling shortness of breath? I started feeling shortness of breath a few weeks ago. My doctor said it was because the babies are pushing up on my lungs. I'm having two baby showers (one with my family in southern Indiana and one with DH's family and some friends in Fort Wayne), and I thought I was going to have an asthma attack in Babies R Us. So I gave up going to the stores to register and just did it online. I guess DH will have to get the wheelchair out for any more major shopping!

HI AIMS! So good to hear from you- and I can completely relate with your situation with you and your DH. Mine is the same exact way. I think they are probably a little less attracted to us, but if yours is like mine, he loves me just the same and knows this is just TEMPORARY! We'll go back to our selves after the babes get here.... well, maybe a short bit after they get here :)

My DS's first day of first grade is today and he was so nervous... bless his heart! I'm sure he'll do fine, but I cannot wait to go home and see him tonight and hear how his day went- I don't get off work until 7pm :(

Hi ladies:

Happy to know everyone is fine and happily complaining. We are the only ones who enjoy every pain and little thing that happen during pregnancy.

Ian - I have a little of shortness of breath when I walk or go up on stairs. But the Doc told me is normal. Congratulation to your DS, his first step to independence. Let us know how it went.

Aim - Our minds play trick on us. There was one night I cried for an hour because "my dh didn't love me". He was a nervous wreck, but it was just my hormones. They (DHs) are going through some changes too. They had to deal with our mood swings and financial pressure too, they are thinking of all the work they have to do and how they life is going to change. So, don't you worry about it, I am pretty sure he loves you a lot more than before, he is maybe a little bit scare. Take a night to pamper him, I heard DHs get jealous of the babies.

Cimplicity - How are you feeling this days?

Dys - I hope you are getting a few days of your feets and rest a lot. How are you feeling?

AFM - I went to my OB/Gyn app yesterday. I gained 10lb in the last month  I couldn't believe it. And my baby gained 10 oz, he is now 1lb 3oz and moving a lot. My glucouse test is the first week of september. The Doc told me to drink lots of water and to eat healthy. I tried but I got hook on Fig Newtons and Praline Ice Cream from Basking Robbins. What can I do???? But he told me he expected 8lb so is not so bad.

Have a beautiful week for all of you.

DHs

Post by Tara2009 »

aims: Regarding DHs, I agree with Ian and Sari. My DH is scared and confused too. In our friends group, every family has one or two kids. We are the only couple having a baby for the first time. So all the men tease him by mentioning that he will loose all his fun and free time after the baby is born and he won't get enough attention from the wife!!

Whenever we go to parties, I get more attention than him, and I know that upsets him a bit. But I know he loves the baby and me dearly. He keeps asking when he can feel the baby in my belly. He can't wait to feel the baby.

So as we are having mood swings, they are also having similar mood swings. So don't worry about it. This is just a passing cloud. I know things will never be the same as before, but it will only be better and bonding will get stronger.

Hang in there :-)

Tara

haha so funny you are all talking about DH's mood swings. I was just thinking not long ago about how moody my DH seems to be! I think he is nervous and scared....and like you guys said, a little jealous of the baby. I also feel like he's not quit as attracted to me...he even told my brother in law that he couldn't wait until I had the baby so that I wouldn't be "fat and unattractive" anymore. Now that really hurt my feelings! But I guess men will be men! Oh well.
I had a Dr appointment ths past Friday, everything went well with the appointment except my placenta previa is still the same, still looking like a c-section. But, as long as the baby is safe and get's here safely, that's fine by me.

tabatha, dearest, I am not sure why, but maybe you are in that rare few who can carry that way? Have you had u/s to confirm the pregnancy, heartbeat and anatomy? If so, then you are pregnant and there is nothing to be worried about UNTIL the doc tells you so!! I know our freaky little brains love to play tricks on us, but I assure you, if the doc has confirmed your pregnancy, you're good to go! Try to enjoy being small for so far along!! I'm sure before you know it you'll be popping like the rest of us and feeling big too!!

I haven't had any issues with DH. He whines about the no sex thing, jokingly but that's about it. I think he knows I feel self-conscious and if anything goes above and beyond making me feel like I'm just as attractive as I was before...which I know is a lie most days but I love him for trying, lol. I think I'm more nervous about having kids than he his. I'm always the one talking about how different life is going to be and how different we will be and he's always reassuring me that things will be fine.

So I met with the doc who placed my cerclage yesterday. Next week will be a crucial week for me. Aside from it being 24 weeks, they will perform the fibronectin test which is suppose to predict whether I'll go into labor in the next few weeks. If it's negative then I can relax and continue to take it easy at home and retest again later. If it's positive I'll have to go on strict bed rest at home or be admitted to the hospital. I'll also be given the steroid shots to help the babies lungs in case they come early. My cervix has completely thinned out and the only thing holding it together is the stitch. And the boy still loves to bury his little head right in there and we can't get him to move for anything! Oh well, we're still optimistic and hopefully I can keep the twins in at least another 2 months or so. Guess we'll have a better idea next week.

Aww tabatha. So sorry you feel that way. I don't think Nicole was being smart, I think she was just trying to make you feel better. All the ladies on here have been very sweet and great to talk to. In any event, take care and good luck with the remainder of your pregnancy! :)
