Hi girls- I'm right there with all of you suffering from the back/pelvic pain, to the hemmorroids, etc. It will all be worth the sleepless nights and diapers, though!!

For those 1st time mommies, it is so worth the little smiles you get in return! You'll forget, well, maybe not forget, but will be so mesmerized by their amazing little bodies!

aspotoftea.... I'm so sorry, but at the same time, THANK GOD, all is holding You are in my thoughts and prayers until they arrive.

Cynthia~ I had to crash their thread, too, as much for the hope that mine will come just a little early, so I can avoid a lengthy full term! BUT whatever is meant to be, will definitely be!

Thanks for the condolences/good wishes for my ultrasound. First they scheduled it for Friday, the same day as the funeral. It's at a different location, and once I had it re-scheduled for tomorrow I asked where they were located. She said "our local office." When I asked where that was she coolly informed me that it was the same place I was supposed to go Friday. OK, which is... where??? Even my office mate is starting to laugh at the Twilight Zone-like conversations I end up having every time I call a doctor's office!

On a more serious note, this death - a suicide - has been more difficult for me to process while pregnant than I thought. My cousin was 50 years old and in his note part of the "reason" was that he never married and had children. I find it so humbling and terrifying to think that somebody would rather die than live without what my husband has in me and our unborn child. And it angers me that my in-laws "aren't speaking" to my husband right now when I'm sure my aunt and uncle would give anything to have just one more minute with their only son.

Sorry for the downer of a post. Hopefully it will be good news at the u/s tomorrow to cheer me up!

Wondercat - That is a very difficult situation. So sorry you and your husband are going through this loss right now. Do take care and good luck with the ultrasound.

Only time for a quick one - everything at the ultrasound today looked perfect, as far as she could tell with him bouncing around in there like a lunatic and kicking the probe. Had my first experience with why we're not supposed to be flat on our backs by almost passing out. Good thing she noticed I wasn't doing too well and had me roll onto my side! Her opinion was I'm measuring big because with my small frame he had nowhere else to go but out. Phew!

Up next: The fasting glucose test. Yippee.

I am glad to hear that the u/s looked good, and I always laugh when mine try to kick the monitor off my belly. They do not like that!

hope everyone is hanging in there- excited, you poor thing with the hemroids, I have been hoping to avoid those at all costs!!

thank you for all the positive thoughts. Today is 25 weeks and 1 day. it still seems like we have so far to go, but we've been dealing with this for 3 weeks already so I'm hoping the next three weeks go fast.

Wondercat: Great news on the ultrasound! As for the family situation, it's not easy. Hopefully the birth of your peanut will help ease the tensions, although knowing what you guys are going through, the in-laws should really get a reality check and snap out of it. Otherwise they risk not even having the opportunity to be in your little one's life and that would be a GREAT loss for them!!!!!

My back is doing significatly better witht that belt that I have purchased.
Monday I started having pretty strong abdominal cramps. I didn't know what to think. Went to my OB. He did a urine test. Everything was ok. He said as long as I didn't have any contractions, not to worry. Indeed, the next day they were gone. He said what I was feeling was the ligaments stgretching from my placenta being heavier and heavier. That was a relief, although I told him my round ligament pain in the past has not been so severe.

Hope everyone is doing well. IANMICHAEL, you're right. Everything will be forgotten once we actually hold our munchkins in our arms!

Hi everyone!

Wondercat - Glad the ultrasound went well. Hang in there with the family. I am sorry for all you are going through.

We had a wrinkle at our ultrasound yesterday. I am fine and the baby is fine, but she is measuring small (can't say the same for myself). Her heart and brain look good, but the abdomen is a bit small and her overall weight is a bit small.

The doctor says this means that she is not getting enough nutrients from the placenta and I need to reduce all stress - basically be on vacation until she is born. The goal is to keep her in there for as long as possible and avoid the NICU, but she will be born small. So I am not on bedrest, but on "limited activity."

We are going on vacation for a week starting Sunday, which is probably great timing - but the fact that I have been up since 4 and am emailing you all now shows that the "just hang out and don't be stressed" thing is not really working for me.

I can only drive about 10 minutes (which in LA could be next door with traffic). I can have lunches, go to movies, hang out (things I am not great at, but will be an expert!)

I am allowed to go into my office for a few hours to get things cleaned up and together - that will actually help reduce my stress significantly!

So that's our news. Will keep everyone posted.

Excited-in-LA - Have a nice relaxing time on vacation! I'm sure reducing your stress will do the trick and both you and baby will do great.

My husband and I went to an all-day birthing prep class over the weekend. It was very worthwhile. Most interesting and helpful was learning about the stages of labor and more detail about epidurals. It also made us realize just how quickly the time is coming!

It's been so long since I've had an u/s and I miss seeing our little guy. Is anyone else in the same boat where they don't get regular ultrasounds anymore? It helped me feel better about how everything was going when I had the u/s regularly. A reassurance I guess.

excited: enjoy your vaca, at least try. Remember, or try to remember not to worry, no amount of worry will fix anything and giving it up to God helps (although I don't know what your personal religious views are).

charr: I don't get regular u/s anymore, but feeling this little idget move around is helping me to relax Now I'm just starting to get labor jitters!!! And freaking out about breastfeeding

Excited: Just take it easy and try not to worry too much (hehe, look who's talking, right?). Just think of it this way: you deserve the break and think of your peanut who's on the way!

Charr: I know, I miss the ultrasound too but I haven't had one since week 19 when I went to see the perinatologist and I don't think my regular OB is planning to do any till the end. He does listen to the heartbeat however via Doppler.

Went for my glucose test on Monday. WHile the drink wasn't too nasty at the time I drank it, I felt nauseous throught the rest of the day. Hopefully I won't need the 3 hour one.

I got partial results on my glucose level testing today. They did not give me the 2 hours after eating results, but my fasting level was 98 and their "normal" cutoff level is 95 so they want me to see a nutritionist. Of course a little bit of research on the American Diabetes Association website told me that the ADA cutoff level for normal is 100, so I'm not feeling too worried. They also didn't bother scheduling me at the nutritionist until next Thursday, so presumably they're not too worried either. Actually the first message I got yesterday was that everything looked fine, then she called back to say the doctor did want me to see a nutritionist. Sounds suspiciously like they're just covering their behinds, but I'm perfectly willing to do whatever to make sure I have a healthy baby. And honestly with my cousin's death I was eating badly (I have a hard time forcing myself to eat when I'm upset), so I'm surprised more of my levels weren't off!

Just one more thing to worry about! At least I know from the u/s last week (ordering which was probably another behind-covering decision) I know that the little guy is looking perfectly normal and healthy even if his mom is 3 cm too big and has a blood glucose level that is 3 mg too high.

I had my regular OB appt. today. My uterine measurement came back a centimeter short but still within normal range. However, the doctor wants me to go in for an ultrasound on Monday just to see if our baby's development and growth is on track. So...guess I got my wish for an ultrasound. I just hope that everything is on track with our little guy.

charr: Good luck on Monday and let us know how it goes. I'd bet you'll be fortunate and be able to have a happy healthy baby, just a little smaller one Maybe you won't have to push as hard? LOL!
