So our second IVF cycle didn't work out and we are going to try again next year. Can't do another cycle this year because we've depleted my health insurance for it, so need to switch to my husband's health insurance next year. I am turning 40 next year and starting to panic and hear the clock ticking.
In our last cycle we only had three eggs and only one of the embryos was good enough to transfer. I'm starting to think that the transfer didn't work primarily because of my age, so I want to start thinking of getting a surrogate mother to help. Have any of you done this or know anyone who has? What were their reasons for opting to get a surrogate mother?
Hi,
I don't know anything about surrogacy so really can't help you there. Have you considered maybe it is the quality of your eggs? Maybe going a donor egg route would be better the surrogacy. I know after the age of 40 the chances of getting PG with your own eggs are slim. Heck, i have bad quality eggs and I am only 37. I hope I am not offending, just didn't know if you have thought of this route as an option.

DE Cycle 2/2011 -BFP Jacob born 11/11/11
Hi Ive done 6 IVF´s (one FET included) and finally am pg which is so far so good (I suffered an mc + 2 ectopics in the past as well).....So honestly if this didnt work, I was already researching surrogacy agencies because im just so tired! My body could not possibly take more even with a donor since Ill still be required to take lots of meds for 3 months, etc.... Im just so beaten up....
So anyway I found one which everyone highly recommends - CIRCLE Surrogacy in Boston. Although expensive, it looks like theyve really helped make many dreams come true! even for gay couples! most of the expense goes to legal and agent fees but at least someone is there to help you facilitate everything all the way. I think its harder dealing with just the surrogate direct unless you know them well (family, friend)....my opinion....just to share in case it helped Good Luck!
