Dtao and Mjay - You poor girls! I'm so sorry you two had so much pain . I never imagined that you guys would have problems. I'm glad to hear that you are feeling better. Sounds like the retrieval and fert. rates are very good! I hope that you both continue to improve. Have either of you decided how many to transfer?

dtao - Holy cow!! I'm so sorry you've had a bad experience. What a mess. But 5 beautiful embies....wonderful!!! I hope you continue to feel better and better each day, so you're ready for Monday.

mjay - And HOLY COW to you on 18 embies. MERCY!!! You go girl!!! And again, I'm so sorry you had a bad experience. I had nothing like that last time. Just mild cramping afterwards. When will your transfer be?

turtle - Good for you!!! You're already 1 step ahead of me. I couldn't stick myself at all. The first night I tried, I tried for 45 minutes, came out of the bathroom bawling, and DH had to give me the shot, which in the end was no big deal. Excellent that you can give them to yourself.

Feeling much better tonight. Still bloated and sore, but definitely not in pain like yesterday. I really thought I was going to die.

mjay-- Congrats on so many eggs! I hope you're feeling better now, too. Is your ET on Monday as well? I've been told bedrest, but I have to start work on Tuesday. I've been reading that most people rest the day of, but then go back about their business.

Mjay and Dtao - So sorry for your pain. I didn't want to say anything prior, but with each ER I've had (3 prior, 1 coming up) I've had the WORSE pain. I thought it was just me...ugh...one time I gained 10 pounds in 3 days. Oh the joy of it all. Gatorade is a blessing as well as anything with salt. I'm trying to stay one step ahead of OHSS by drinking Gatorade daily and having some yummy/salty chinese food the day prior to ER. I'm not sure if it will work, but it tastes good anyway!

My follie status - started with 10, sono yesterday showed that out of the 10 about 5 or 6 would probably be big enough for retrieval.

I'm on follistim and started my ganerilix last night. Another sono tomorow. Praying that all 10 grow well.

I try not to get discouraged as I had a friend go through IVF the same time 1 1/2 yrs ago and she only had 3-4 fertilize, then transferring 2. She got pregnant with twins!

dtao- i'm in the same boat as you. i feel much better everyday but still really bloated and sore. i hope your transfer goes well!

cheryl- i'm glad to know that dtao and i were not alone. i had chinese food when i felt well enough to eat on friday and i just had the leftovers about a half hour ago! so obviously we were thinking the same thing! don't be discouraged at all over 10 follies. IT ONLY TAKES ONE!

afm- been weighing myself and haven't gained a pound, thank God. i feel better but still not back to normal. my transfer will be a 5-day, so i go back in on wednesday. i feel so helpless now, b/c there's nothing else for DH and i to do, but pray and wait.

dtao and mjay - SO sorry to hear about your ER experiences. I am glad you are both feeling better and that your little embies keep growing! I pray for strong healthy embies for both of you!

cheryl - I pray your follies keep growing and that you have lots of eggies to choose from! When is your ER?

J&C- don't give yourself a hard time about not being able to give yourself the shots yet. That will be great if you can but if not that's not what really counts in the long run.

turtle - congrats! one step in the right direction...on your way to a BFP!

just a quick update...i gave myself a PIO injection tonight. if i do get pregnant those shots last a long time. due to my schedule i wanted to make sure that i can give myself the shot if necessary.

i wanted everyone to know, that has not done the PIO before, that the shot does not hurt at all and i am minimally sore the next day. i hold the syringe in my hand for about 5 minutes so the oil is the same as my body temp; then i massage while walking around for about 5 minutes after the injection; then used a hot pack for about 15 minutes.

i was sooo scared of these shots based on everything i read, and there is nothing to fear. it's no different than any of the other shots, IMHO.

Hi Cycle friends! I should be sleeping but more important things to do – like post on here. I got AF today so I started my first BCP. I know I am a ways behind most of your but I am excited… and scared.. and confused… and crampy… but mostly ready for this adventure to start. I will call the clinic tomorrow to see if they are definitely ok for me to get started. I am also calling the PGD clinic to try to move them along as well. I want to thank all of you for sharing everything – I am learning so much and I adore reading what is going on with everyone. Including the good, the bad, and the TMI. Anyone do Yoga? DH and I started last week to try and help us stay relaxed and connected, it was nice. Also got my first pedi ever – loved it. Anyone doing anything fun and exciting this week?

J&C – Baby in a Box! Too funny. Can’t wait to get my baby in a box! I am booking a massage for next week. What kind did you get? I think I may try a hot and cold stone massage – sounds amazing.

Prayin – did AF come?

Wolffie – The PGD clinic (Genesis Genetics) took cheek swabs from me and DH as well as our parents and our son. They then have been testing them for over a month and working up our exact DNA structures and working to find where the defect is that the CF gene mutation is so that when we send them the single cells from the embryos they can test them to see if they have CF. Once they receive them 3 people will work for 17 hours straight (no putting in a machine and letting it run I guess) to see which ones are ok. Since they said that they should be done within a week on Thursday I think I am fine to get going on my BCPs. I got my period today so I took my first one (baby asprin too) tonight. I will call the clinic right away tomorrow morning to make sure though. I will be heartbroken if they tell me to wait a cycle

Cheryl – I said a little prayer for all 10 of your follies. Your numbers sound good to me. How many did you have the last time?

Dtao – You poor thing. What a scary experience. Thanks so much for sharing your experience though. I like to be well aware of what all I could be in for. I would much rather came away saying that wasn’t as bad as I thought. I am glad you are feeling better but am so sad you had to go through that. 100% of the mature eggs fertilized? That is unheard of! What a great sign. I really hope that tomorrow goes well and it will be a breeze compared to the ER. I will definitely be thinking about you! Soon all you will have to do is concentrate on cooking your embies.

Mjay- Yikes! I am so sorry you had a bad experience too. Why did it take you longer to come out? Have you been put under before? 26 eggs and 18 fertilized! Wow that sounds like a lot! Hopefully you are all better by Wednesday and everything is a go. I hope both of them stick =) Wow – you are a rock star. Way to be on the PIO shot. I have not gotten my meds yet but aren’t those the ones with the needles that are like the size of a pencil??????????? How did you stick yourself in the Butt? I am seriously really impressed.

Fitz – excited that you have a bunch of follies growing! Are you feeling good? You can mix your shots? I didn’t know that. Do you only do one a day?

Lady – thanks for the lesson on OHSS, so good to know. So if I have this right it can happen anytime after you start stimming? Should I be buying gatoraid in bulk now? =) My phone alarm is set so I remember to take my BCPs now – practice for when I start all my shots at the same times. I told my DH to set his too as a back up. Did you get your AF yet? Where are you at in the process?

Katie – where are you at that tornados are uncommon? I am in the Midwest and we have them all the time. Although it does seem to be a little out of season. Well anyway – I hope everything turned out ok. Thanks for the AF dance. It worked – I started today. What a strange feeling to be excited about it.

Shelby – How exciting to get your schedule, I can’t wait to get mine. Why did they up your follistim? Maybe that is normal – I am clueless.

Turtle – How are your shots going? Getting better? Hopefully you at least got some sleep. I can’t decide if I will be able to do them or if it will be better to make DH do them. Either way I am sure I will be freaked out.

Karling – Glad you got AF and started BCP. With every new step I get excited to know that I am getting closer to a little bundle of joy! Hope you get a good result on the PGD. I’m not quite sure why they increased the Follistim? I’m hoping it’s because they want to make sure that I have plenty to transfer and plenty to freeze just in case. A little nervous about it, but I will be fine.

DH has always been lucky though…when it’s time for AF, I don’t get moody, I get what he calls “clingy”. I want to be close to him all the time –TMI-(if you catch my drift). I’ve never understood that, but he doesn’t mind! LOL! Hope you weren’t affected by the tornado. I know it’s hard to wait, but hang in there. We are all here for each other and can share our experiences to hopefully help you. Just keep happy thoughts! …’rock a by baby…’
